Exiblade7 1,917 Posted February 29, 2016 I've heard that people lose interest in video games as they get older, which kinda scares me. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Eternalsleep 175 Posted February 29, 2016 No your never too old to play video games. Im 22 & i still keep up with the latest pokemon & dbz games in addition to more mature games. In fact just the other day me & my grandpa were playing mario kart together. If anyone loses interest in video games as they get older it's probably because they weren't too into it to begin with, not that they didn't enjoy it, but they could live without it. 7 MythrilMagician, Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀), Movies798 and 4 others reacted to this
Veemon 1,540 Posted February 29, 2016 My Dad is 40+ and he's still enjoying games like Borderlands 2, Disgaea, and right now, Rainbow Moon! The only time when you are too old to play video games is when you're either unable to see the screen because of your bad vision when you're older or you're blind, or you're dead, and most likely you won't have to worry about any of those for a looooong time. Although, it might be unhealthy to play video games EVERY day of your life. I heard that when you're older, and you stare at artificial light (ie TV screen), it somewhat hurts your mind more than when you were younger, which shortens your lifespan by a tiny bit, depending on the amount of time spent staring. Soooo, be careful, and be sure to get out and do some fun things outside. Rock on! 2 Movies798 and Exiblade7 reacted to this

I wish I wasn't really into it in the past, I think that my case is opposite of what you think, I played so much that I got bored and fed up, so now I play far less than before. By the way, my family (parents, older cousin, uncles, etc.) are totaly against videogames, so that may be another reason why I'm not into them as much as before. Headphone Jack 1,147 Posted February 29, 2016 well yea some people actually find things to do with their lives it varies person to person. sometimes they get wrapped up in other things that they consider important and they lose interest in gaming. it's a hobby and not everyone has the same interests. i don't think you're ever too old to play games unless you reach an age where you are physically unable. and even then i'm sure by the time you reach that age you could just get hooked up to a VR machine and play Bus Riding Simulator 2065 or something. 2 Exiblade7 and Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) reacted to this
KHUndertaleFan25 2,858 Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) I still love video games. Hopefully, when I grow older, I will still like them ^_^. Heck, my mom even got an Atari Flashback for us to play with whenever we have free time. Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted February 29, 2016 That's not necessarily true. You get busier in life as you get older and gain more responsibilities, that's true, but really how many video games you play is just up to how you spend your free time. I'm sure these days there are plenty of adults who would like to play video games but don't have the time or energy to do so. But there's nothing stopping you or saying that you absolutely "must" stop playing video games as you get older. However often you play them as you get older is up to you, there's no unwritten rule or anything like that. You have control. 2 Mystics Apprentice and Exiblade7 reacted to this

Takzu20 78 Posted February 29, 2016 I think the people who say you "outgrow video games" are the same people that say you "outgrow cartoons". I'm twenty and I still like both. My dad is forty seven and he still likes both. My grandpa grew up in a generation without video games, but he still likes cartoons. The fact is, you can never outgrow video games or cartoons. You just think you do, and those people must lead boring lives. 2 Exiblade7 and KHUndertaleFan25 reacted to this

Rob 5,571 Posted February 29, 2016 Rob is 103 years old. He's been playing games actively since the 1970's. Still going strong.
MythrilMagician 6,963 Posted February 29, 2016 Nope, but if you do stop playing as you get older is probably because of lack of time or loss of interest. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted February 29, 2016 I don't think that a person can ever be too old for video games. As I and others around me have gotten older we have less time to play due to life obligations and grown up stuff (blah), and thus we may not seem like we are quite into it as we were when we were younger, but I still love video games and do play when time permits. It's just things shift when you're older and you have to adjust your time accordingly with your priorities, but I don't think you can ever actually "outgrow" video games. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this

KairiKeybasH 851 Posted March 1, 2016 Well for me i'm 19 years old. I feel that people are against me beacuse i like so called "Kids Games".
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted March 1, 2016 Well honestly, to me, that's just a big, fat lie! I mean sure, we may grow older, but that doesn't mean that we can't stop playing video games! Granted, when there's a family to raise and a job to keep said family from starving, video games take a bit of a back seat, but when you have time, you can chill out to your favorite video games! Heh, I know that I'll always be a gamer, and I'm pretty sure my future family's gonna be a gamer family, which is awesome! I guess what I'm saying here is that everything in life is balance! As long as you got all your responsibilities in check, then you'll no doubt always have time for video games! But I don't have to worry about that for now, since I'm a single macho with no kids, living the mercenary life! And I have a healing factor that prevents me from dying, so I can enjoy video games to the point that I'll own the Playstation 1307! (Ha, see what I did there? ) But when I do end up having a family, I'm gonna make sure we're all gamers! 2 Movies798 and Exiblade7 reacted to this
Movies798 1,358 Posted March 1, 2016 Hell naw! You're never too old play video games. Just because we're getting older that doesn't mean we have to give up everything we love during our childhoods. God I even hate it when they call it "kids games." Video games are not just for kids, video games are for everyone who love video games, they're for kids and adults so they can be entertain and get away from reality to relieve their stress for the time being. Some of my older relatives are in their 40's and 50's they still play video games. I know for a fact that I won't be too old to play video games because I'm a gamer by heart and I will keep on playing Kingdom Hearts, Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and other games I find them interesting. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Dracozombie 4,554 Posted March 1, 2016 Poo poo to the naysayers that say you're too old to play video games. As you grow older, what happens is that your priorities shift. For some people, that means giving up video games entirely, whether from being too busy or from a lack of interest. For others like me and many others in this thread, it just means we choose not to spend most of the day gaming because we have important grown up responsibilities to attend to (school, job, other important hobbies, etc.). You don't have to give up games completely, because firetruck that noise. 2 Movies798 and Exiblade7 reacted to this
