I respect Nintendo's choice, to be honest. Even though I never heard of that manga, nor that series in general, it just looks like the average Anime Schoolgirl, ya know? It's fine, I think.

 

 

I'm lookin' at everybody's suggestions, but there's something about some of them that just don't work. (Except for Rocketboy's. Almost perfect! I could definitely see an 8-bit version of the Fallout guy. )

 

If anything, to be honest, I think you know who I would suggest, am I right??

Honestly, I know what Nisekoi is (never read/watched it, however), and while I think this is really random... I'm okay with it. Honestly, I just find it funny more than anything. There's already a ton of other costumes in Mario Maker, don't see why a random anime cross over matters that much. Just enjoy if you want, ignore if you don't. When I eventually get back to Mario Maker I might do a level with her, just for the laughs.

 

Also, reminder that Nintendo has crossed over with anime before. Remember that Splatoon got the Squid Girl costume (though that one made a ton of sense, admittedly).

Especially if you shrink him down to a kid and let him use his Nyoibo and Kinto'un?

This stuff right here. Applies to Naruto as well. Or any action character for that matter. Putting in an action character who does this crazy jumping-fighting stuff would make more sense than some plain old girl out of a romantic comedy.

There's a mahjong tile costume, that doesn't apply & yet it's in the game. like seriously, it's just one costume, a skin, that doesn't do anything except change sound effects & what mario looks like. adding goku or naruto, etc won't change a thing. nobody asked for anime characters until this was released. just be glad we're getting new costumes and maybe nintendo will add more anime characters costumes

Also, chitoge was in the game because of the cross-promotion by the author of the manga. That's how it made sense for chitoge to be in the game.

But it still doesn't mesh well. Why would Mario even be in a manga like that anyway? Literally none of this adds up promotion wise. It's like trying to promote a new cereal with Donald Trump as your sponsor and then having the mascot go on to be his running mate. It doesn't make sense in any dimension whatsoever.

Ruri's great-grandfather played video games. they can jump to a flashback to where Ruri and her great-grandfather play one of the early Mario games. it's not that hard to put Mario somewhere as a cameo.
