Are The Ratchet & Clank Games Good?

So recently I've been thinking about getting into the Ratchet & Clank series starting with the R&C HD collection and than getting the R&C "Future" games. But I just want to know from your perspective, is the Ratchet & Clank series really good? I've taken an interest in the games ever since the PS4 remake and the movie.

The original one is the best by a long shot in my opinion. I've also played 2, 3 and Gladiator, all good, especially 3, but not as good as the first one.

Really? Than I'll definitely get the HD collection than. Even though the PS4 remake will be coming out in Spring. Also how good are the "future" games?

If you have played a Jak & Daxter game they are very similar to that.

They're awesome, probably my favorite Sony exclusive series. A Crack In Time and Into The Nexus are some of the greatest games ever made for the PS3, if you ask me.

 

I would definitely be wary of the older games, though. The HD collection is still good, but they're really starting to show their age, especially the first one. I just platinumed R&C1, and man, thank god it's getting a remake; it's very basic compared to the later games in terms of weapons and level design, and it's way more difficult than any other game in the series, partly due to how not-quite-good the controls are. It's still fun and creative and I love it, but it's the first of a new IP from 2002- it's gonna have some rough edges.

If by "future games" you mean the ones after 1, 2 and 3 they are all pretty good and in my opinion A Crack In Time is one of the best in the series
