For KH3, would you want the Gummi Missions to be replaced by an open-world Ocean Between where you can freely fly the Gummi Ship through the Ocean Between to the Worlds while fighting Gummi Heartless and Nobodies along the way? I'm all for this idea completely. I wouldn't want it to be too huge and I'd want the distance between worlds to be about as long as it takes to complete a Gummi Mission from KH2. Gummi Missions are things that many casual KH fans and hardcore KH fans complain about, so I think this would be a great way to turn Gummi Missions into something amazing. It would also be cool to see what the Ocean Between truly looks like canonically since it's sort of hard to tell what it looks like as a whole from the few Gummi Missions there have been in the past. It would also be neat to see what the transition between going from the Realm of Light to the Realm Between looks like and see how the scenery changes. It would be so cool in my opinion to be able to freely pilot the Gummi Ship and customize it more than ever before and adventure through the Ocean Between while coming across hoards of enemies and maybe even getting to be able to land the Gummi Ship on meteors, asteroids, and various other structures and getting out of the Gummi Ship to fight Heartless and Nobodies on them.

I also want to mention that I think the warp option should definitely still stay. If you don't want to fly to world to world after you did it once, you shouldn't have to.

What are your thoughts on this?

I like the idea, and I had at one point thought of having certain worlds connected to each other, but I think the only real reason was because of references or where movies took place or just silly crossovers.

Really the main thing I want is that they don't show us every single world right at the start of the game like KH2 and the later games.

KH2 really improved on the Gummi ships, and it actually made me want to go back through them. In KH1 after getting to a world I would always just use the warp drive after that.

Going all Star Fox/ No Man's Sky on KH, huh? I really like he sound of that!

Build your own Gummi Ship, collect parts while in the Ocean Between by defeating Heartless ships, etc., and best of all: Giant dark and ominous cloudy barriers preventing you from entering certain worlds at the moment.

Oh man, I love this idea so much... They can't pass this up! I'd rather have this than Dives from KH3D to be honest. But I'd be fine with it if they kept the KH1 or KH2 Gummi Routes.

Rock on!

I'm not against an open world idea per se; however I wouldn't complain about having a KH2 system. However my main issue whether it's open play or not is to do with the routes themselves. Apart from the one time getting to each world and during pre Warp-G in KH1; what's really the point of re visiting the routes? The missions aren't exactly fun; designing personal ships can be an unnecessary hassle, so instead of the layout- I'd personally rather square worked on this issue. Two solutions potentially could be to have the routes provide rare items needed for let's say the ultima weapon etc or even be a way of being able to gather elixirs etc ( To a limit). Another solution would be to a level up system and in order to advance through harder levels; we need our gummi ship to be a certain level; maybe have a correlation between the world battle level and the Gummi Ship route level?

To relate to your post; this would be a lot harder to do in an open world layout; so taking that into account I would prefer a kh2 system.

I kind of like the level up system idea you've got, but then I've never cared much about building my own custom ships, it always felt pointless unless I wanted to go through the missions, and even then it wasn't really necessary.

It's a weird thought, but if they had Guardians of the Galaxy in the game then you could have Gummi Ship missions and boss fights with them fighting along side you. It probably won't happen, but it would be cool to see other people fighting along side you during Gummi Ship missions.

Nah, I personally want a Gummi Ship travel with the action of KH2 with the Disney themed travelling from Dream Drop Distance (imagine fighting Kaiju heartless whilst travelling with your Gummi Ship to San Fransokyo)?!
