ib-m_m 2 Posted February 3, 2016 A warm welcome to the beloved kingdom hearts community. first of all I am sorry if the topic is in a wrong section . I want to make a keyblade but I need the dimensions . I have details for the kingdom key but couldn't find anything for other keyblades . I want any keyblade please . I mostly want oblivion , oath keeper , and way to dawn if you can find them with length width and thickness with a separate picture for the key chain I would be really thankful anything could help . and if there are not any dimensions then official high definition artwork for keyblades well help a lot . I have attached a real well made example and if you have any tips such as good material for the handle please say so . thank you .
Unreal 11 Posted February 3, 2016 (edited) Right! First of all, Keyblades don't really have specific dimensions to go on since the models can vary from game to game - and sometimes they don't match with the art either. You're gonna have to do some scaling up in whatever imaging software you feel comfortable with. You'll have to find renders online (khwikia is good for this and so is Marduk-Kurios on Deviantart) and then scale them up to your hand size, and your height to begin with. If you're looking to make them accurate (or close to accurate from the games) you want to look at a tons of images of characters holding the keyblades you want to make, and then judging the keyblades lengths based on that (since the sizes can vary from person to person also, e.g. Terra, Ven, Aqua Keyblades) As a starting point:The kingdom Kingdom Key is roughly 35 inches, with an aprox. 2 inch diameter for the main silver 'blade'/pole.Using this you can map out all other keyblades as bigger or smaller than the Kingdom key.http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/22500000/Majestic-Sora-sora-22568007-559-1080.png - use this image to get your scaling right. As far as I can tell, Oathkeeper is a couple inches longer than Kingdom Key, and Oblivion is just slightly longer than Oathkeeper (because of its pointed tip). This seems to be consistent in all the games, and even in the merchandise. Way to Dawn is even longer than Oblivion since Riku is quite a bit taller than Sora - so compare images when Riku wields Oblivion, to when he wields Way to Dawn. (This is based on length from the very bottom of the handle/hand guard to the tip of the blade)So: Longest ----- Way to Dawn> Oblivion >> Oathkeeper >>> Kingdom key ----Shortest For cross sections have a rummage through FinalFormSora's Deviantart page - http://finaformsora.deviantart.com/gallery/42591416/Tutorials-drawn-digital-work Materials: For the Kingdom Key's main blade/shaft - it's probably easiest to use some 2inch diameter PVC pipe.Ply Wood, or foam, or plastic for the hand guards and teeth of the key. Some kind of rod for the handle which you want to go all the way through the pipe for structural integrity). P.s. Don't trust the dimensions in that image - that's just the product dimensions of a version made by a company.
