You can really see the KINGDOM SHADER at work here...

Recommended Posts

Compare these two screenshots. The first one is from Kingdom of Corona, based off of Disney's "Tangled" and the other is a photo of Sora outside the Mysterious Tower.

I realized that Sora almost looks like he was straight from the tangled movie in this particular screenshot. After all, it is an animated film done with CGI. The colors aren't as saturated as they are in the Mysterious Tower reference. but isn't it cool?

I mean, look how colorful the MT photo is. And in regards to people that say "Square fixed Sora's derpy face," remember that it's not necessarily that he looks derpy but rather that the KINGDOM SHADER is making him look incredibly different from he did in previous games.

I always thought it was because the first screenshot is from an earlier build of the game that they showed in the trailer, hence why his face looked "derpy" at first. The second screenshot is likely more recent considering the details look touched up and the HUD is updated.

so you're saying there is a slight difference in Sora's character model in each world? I probably won't notice it because I'll be mostly focusing more on the gameplay and story more then the graphics

It may be updated now, but I still think that its almost like the "art style" and lighting between the worlds is completely different. It's kind of like in Mysterious Tower sora looks like a cartoon while in KoC he looks like he came straight out of a Pixar/Animated Film.

Not a slight difference but a complete difference in the way that the game looks. I wouldn't be surprised if 100 Acre Wood looks like it's a storybook this time.

ah, so because kh3 runs on a much powerful engine, it can basically emulate how each world should look much better?

Yeah, I get what you're saying!  The graphics definitely look great, Squared Elvis is pushing it hard to make sure Kingdom Hearts III's worlds match up to their movies! The Kingdom Shader's a piece of art, if you ask me!  Gotta love the work going into it!  Just imagine how badass it'll look once it's finished!  Heh, I bet it'll look as badass as Rogue's...um, uh, bazongas! ;)

Deadpool, out!!!!! :P

it's probably either caused by the lighting effects (considering one is in daytime and the other at night) or the footage from the Tangled world is just less rendered due to it being an earlier build of the game. the difference here is minuscule.

when i think of what the Kingdom shader is going to add, i imagine something along the lines of Sora and co. not sticking out like sore thumbs in a world like Port Royal. Their colors and textures would change to blend in with the surrounding environment.
