Soooo... With the whole fiasco of Hitman and FF7 and from the looks of KH3 at the moment... I fear Square Will do something to KH3 like they had done to their other games. Like releasing it episodic or like they done with the pre order of Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Also it's troublesome we don't have a release year and don't know how are we in development of KH3. And with KH2.8 it can make the development of KH3 even longer. And because of Square's managing I fear all the thing I mentioned happen... So what do you guys/gals think? Do you have your concerns for KH3 or do you feel that there is nothing to worry about?

Kingdom Hearts 3 will not be episodic.  Hitman was always advertised as being episodic (and it actually will probably work well for that game).  We still have no idea what this FF7 Remake will include (just FF7 or maybe the whole FF7 collection), so it is possible that it could work in that format as well.  Episodic is not a bad model in of itself, it is all dependent on how a company uses it.  If a game is priced fairly and episodes come within a reasonable amount of time, it is okay.  It is possible for future KH games to be episodic, but you can rest easy knowing that KH3 will definitely not be episodic.

I don't know much about Hitman, but Final Fantasy 7 wise they made it episodic because if they didn't it would a) take longer to develop as one game and b) they would have to remove a lot of content. They wouldn't do something like that to Kingdom Hearts 3 this far in development because that would be a lot more work than they need.

I'm just worried about that whole Blank Points thing about Terra and Eraqus going absolutely nowhere, MX continuing to Aizen it up and force himself all over everything, and him getting an unsatisfying defeat (and even then, only if he doesn't still "win" in a way once again).

Admittedly, DDD killed a good chunk of my optimism for KH3.

I get the fears from Hitman & FFVII, but what part of KHIII's development has you worried? From the outside, it looks like development is taking a long time so that once it's finished, it's finished for good. The fact that there's no concrete evidence on a release window after so long (despite there being an internal release date) says to me it'll be done and finished by whatever projected time they've set up. I really don't foresee an FFVII situation.

I don't think KH3 will be episodic, but if it where, that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, it'd just mean a bigger game overall. The only reason they'd do that for something like KH is if the game itself is too large for a single disk, releasing those one at a time means we get the initial game sooner and we get to play that while they work on part 2. That's what I think the reasoning behind releasing FFVIIRe episodically is.

I'm pretty sure that Kingdom Hearts III won't be episodic!  It'd be kind of a bummer if it did end up being that way, but nonetheless, I'd still play the game, for sure!  But yeah, with Kingdom Hearts III currently being in an important stage of development, I'm sure this means that Nomura and his team are working hard at completing the remaining aspects of the game so they can release the whole package in one singular game disc, ya know? :D

Nomura just said at the beginning of this year that they are at a very important part of the Kingdom Hears 3 development and this year will focus more on the development and PR of the game so the development of 2.8 is no hindering the development of Kingdom Hearts 3.  I highly doubt that Kingdom Hearts will come out episodic like FF7 and won't do what they did with the pre order of Mankind Divided.

So what exactly did they do with pre-order of  Mankind?

I can't remember the full details but I remember that it was kind of like a Kickstarter thing where if enough people pre order the game they will add somethings and the last thing was that they would release the game four days earlier

Sure but... Square's management have been very different this day then before, they can change it.

You are right. But Hitman wasn't always episodic.
