Firaga 5,947 Posted January 13, 2016 Article Long running Naruto video game series, "Naruto [shippuden] Ultimate Ninja Storm", is receiving a three game collection, containing the original Ultimate Ninja Storm, its sequel Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, and the upgraded three-quel Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst. On paper, this sounds like a neat idea. However, there are a few complications. For one, it's been announced that it will only be available in Europe. No confirmation for the U.S., Japan or other countries is available. Also, It releases on February 5th, the same day as the European release of Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. However, there's another, bigger issue: this collection is apparently only available on the Playstation 3. It will not be on the Xbox 360, and it will not be on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, or even PC. Now, is this problematic? A little. It's not really that big of a deal, but really, the more logical choice would be to release this collection on the current generation consoles and PC. Storm 4 is exclusive to these platforms, so doing the same for the collection is simply fitting. Maybe this is simply just a quick ploy from Bandai Namco to garner more money from the Storm franchise, but at the very least, it should be done with a little more grace. 2 RoxasVen30 and Shulk reacted to this
Shulk 8,623 Posted January 14, 2016 Being exclusive to Europe isn't really a big deal since the PS3 isn't region locked, but I agree that they could have done a lot more with this. It seems like they're rushing something out to make a little extra money, and releasing it on the same day Storm 4 releases sounds like a bad idea, too. If they released it a week or so before, maybe that'd make more sense so people can spend time with the older entries. Of course, no one's going to care about 1-3 once 4 is out; they'll be busy playing the new entry. Also, wasn't Storm 4 supposed to cover the entire storyline of Naruto? What's the purpose of letting us go through the story with the older games again if that's the case? Besides, this might not be the case in Europe, but I can find the old Storm games for cheap easily out here.
Ven983 490 Posted January 14, 2016 It isn't surprising to see that it is Europe only, Bandai Namco highly favors Europe and they always get collections that no one else does. The platform choice is not odd at all, as this is likely just bundling the games rather than doing anything to them (like remastering anything), and since the original was only on PS3, it makes sense that they stick with the PS3 format. 1 Soravids reacted to this
Soravids 1,056 Posted January 14, 2016 it's not an HD remaster, just a bundle. They don't wanna port the games to other consoles. And yeah it sucks, but Bamco has always put the US on the back burner. Probably because it has a smaller fanbase over here. Sadly things that are popular in the US usually don't interest me in the least...
