Roleplay Kuroshitsuji: Book of Roses

Recommended Posts

Aya stirred as soon as she heard some muttering, she was actually a very light sleeper, and nearly anything could awaken her.

Veran was currently downstairs, preparing breakfast and tea for the young lady, and upstairs...Aya was waking up.

She rubbed her eyes, and opened up her right one, to behold the sight of Wulfric at the foot of her bed.

If Aya wanted, she could have tried killing him, but her bullets would not work against the werewolf.

Instead, Aya crawled over to the foot of her bed, leaning right over Wulfric, it looked rather suggestive and Veran would have been rather worried if he walked in at the current moment, but Aya meant no harm.

"What are you doing?" Aya said eerily into Wulfric's ear, meaning to scare the boy.

Wulfric awoke to Aya's voice, looking up sleepily before smiling. "Morning!" Wulfric said before once more, licking her cheek much like a puppy. "I came to give you your carriage! Also..." Wulfric stretched. "I wanted to ask you if you needed extra staff?" Wulfric asked as he sat up. "I saw that you only have Veran, and well, the whole mission thing was so much fun! I felt like a real detective, you know? Well I was wondering if I could be part of your staff? Maybe a gardener? I do love plants! Or a cook? I can cook stuff! Lots of stuff!" Wulfric said happily as he rubbed his head against Aya's head. "Please please please! I'll be a good boy! I can clean too and scare away bad guys who try and enter the property! I can also be very warm in cold nights! I don't want to go back to the village, that place is boring! This place is huge and awesome and it rocks!" Wulfric insisted.

Aya heard a prolonged sigh before she could open her mouth.

"I'll hire you, just please do not lick my masters cheek like that in your human form ever again." Veran chirped from the door of the room.

Aya wiped her cheek, looking at Wulfric.

"You're pretty good at fighting, would you serve as a guard? Samael walked in freely the other day, and that bothered me. I need some more security around here." Aya proposed.

Veran looked rather offended.

"What about me?" he questioned.

Aya gave him a rather long look.

"Veran, sometimes you're slow." She admitted.

"Also, Wulfric, thank you for bringing me back my carriage, and my manor is very large. I am not surprised it was so easy to find me." Aya ended her statement, Veran being obviously rather mad at Aya, but pushed the cart of tea and food.

"Wulfric, if you are here to serve, you have to learn how to do some things. The first step is to serve the lady tea. It should not be that hard. She can eat her breakfast herself. Then Aya will get dressed by MY hands and MY hands only. She will then travel down to her office to work on her clothing line. During that time, the real training will begin." The demon said rather intoned.

Wulfric was more than happy to go along with whatever training needed. "I can be a guard dog! No one will ever get past me!" Wulfric said as she looked over at the tea and breakfast and then up at Aya. "I followed your scent. It's sickly sweet." Wulfric purred. He stretched and jumped down onto the floor. "I'll be ready for your training then, mister Veran! Catarina already made herself comfortable at mister Samael's place. I'll go outside, I think I saw a cat on the way up here. I wonder if its still there!" Wulfric said as he turned around and hurried off. Next thing he was seen running around the grounds rather happily, exploring every possible corner, wherever the scents led him to. A werewolf guard dog wouldn't be that bad...right?

Veran sighed, pouring Aya's tea himself.

"He will be very hard to train. I hope you know that." Veran concluded.

Aya nodded, eating her breakfast at her own pace.

Veran clothed her, and then let her travel downstairs to begin on her work.

Aya wanted to make something for Samael. She did not know exactly what she wanted to make, but she would figure it out.

Meanwhile, Veran was out back, looking, and finding Wulfric.

"Wulfric...one thing you need to learn is to take what I say seriously. I know that we are both...unnatrual beings, but I could almost certainly beat you in a fight between us. If you would like to prove that wrong, I will be glad to fight you. A test of strength is something you also must pass."

Wulfric sat down and looked up at Veran, listening to his words. "I know to act human when there are other humans around. It's basic logic. Otherwise they'll hunt me down like witches in the middle ages or something like that." Wulfric said as he scratched his cheek. He then pouted when Veran suggested that they fight in order to prove his strength. "Do we have to?~ Can't we agree that no human will be able to get through me and settle it down with cake?~" Wulfric asked as he laid down on the grass rather carefreely.

Veran chuckled to himself, looking at Wulfric being so carefree.

"Wulfric...maybe you should learn why protecting this manor is extremely important to Aya's importance, and to every here." Veran proposed.

Veran sat himself kindly down on the ground beside Wulfric.

"I remember the moment I was summoned. As you know, I am a demon, and summoning is something every being like me looks forwards too. I didn't know anything about my subject, I just knew they were in desperate need." He paused for a second, looking back at the manor.

"She was at a cult house...specifically one that housed prostitutes and slaves. I posed as a visitor, and requested their youngest. I than met Aya, she was around 13 at the time, and I knew she had gone through a lot. She was beat up and was full of hate for the people around her." Veran explained.

"On that day, I stopped her from treating me as a customer, and told her that she summoned a demon...well, me. She was baffled, but we formed our contact." The demon pulled off his gloves, exposing the contract seal on his right palm.

"The contract symbol represents our bond for each other. One day, it will be of no use. After I took Aya from the cult house, has revealed to me her family name and a little background information.

She knew that her father worked for the Queen and that her mother made clothes. Her father died on a mission, and her mother killed by the members of the cult that got her. She than told me that she was sexually abused by her Uncle, however has not seen him since she was dragged into the cult." Veran let out a drawn out sigh.

"We are yet to see her Uncle again, and the cult has disbanded after I visited. I do believe the uncle may be searching for Aya, as Aya took her uncles "rightful spot" in working for the Queen. I also believe that the cult that had Aya is still on the loose somewhere." Veran stood up.

"I cannot have them come and get Lady Aya, as they would be sure to kill her. Which is why, I need someone that is determined and strong enough to watch out for me and Aya. She will treat you with money, clothes, and food." Veran informed.

Wulfric listened to Veran. The story. Aya's origins. How was it that a demon ended up doing a contract with such a young girl who by all means, seemed to have it all. "So that's why." Wulfric said, not sound surprised, but also with a tone that did show respect to the story. He looked up at the sky. "If you don't want me around I could just leave. But Aya is a good girl. I owe her for keeping my clan from going into a war for extinction. Even without knowing of her past, if anyone were to try to harm Aya, I would have pounced on the attacker in a heartbeat, not leave her to be taken away by a Grim Reaper or something." Wulfric explained as he yawned casually and stretched on his fours much like a dog or a cat would. "You don't have to worry about a thing, Veran!" Wulfric said as he gave him thumbs up. "I'll be Aya's guard dog! I'll watch over her and the property while she sleeps! If I see anything suspicious I will chase it! I will be all cool and stuff!" Wulfric assured, looking rather determined about it. "...oh!" Wulfric gasped as he looked around in his clothing before pulling out an envelope, and a separate letter. "Alexander gave me these for you when I went by his house this morning." Wulfric explained. The letter had Samael's handwriting, and it said;

'The Queen is a rather quick one to figure stuff out! She really has eyes and ears everywhere! A royal guard delivered this one this morning. Seems you have another mission! Come by my place when you're ready. I had to fix the uniform down to your size so it would fit you. Toodles - Samael'.

Veran placed his right hand on Wulfric's hand.

"Welcome to the Everus Manor, Wulfric." Veran simply stated, then taking the letter.

The word "Uniform" threw him off.

"I will leave with Aya soon. Thank you Wulfric." Veran then headed back inside, knocking on Aya's office door.

"Lady Aya, may I come in?" He asked.

"Its fine, come in." Aya called to him.

Veran opened the door, finding a sketch of an outfit, obviously made for a man, which was something she usually didn't do.

She was rummaging through a large box of different fabrics, her office practically a mess.

"I hate to interrupt, but Wulfric had this letter Samael gave him."

Aya immediately stopped, walking over to Veran and taking the letter.

She read it over about twice.

"Uniform?" Aya asked Veran.

Veran looked at her, nodding her head slowly.

"Well I guess we should get going then." Aya sighed, dropping the fabric that was in her hand carelessly.

Veran lead Aya to the carriage, horses prepared and the carriage looking good.

"Wulfric! You will protect this manor for however long I'm gone! You may rest on a bed somewhere in a manor...but not mine." Aya commanded, making sure Wulfric understood.

Veran helped Aya get in the carriage, and they were off.

"This will be interesting."

Alexander watered the flowers just as he saw the familiar carriage enter. "She is here." Alexander said, walking over Samael's office, knocking on the door before opening it a bit. "She's here. Is the uniform ready?" Alexander asked. Samael looked up, working with scissors and all kinds of materials as he worked on different mannequins back and forth. "Yup! Here it is!" Alexander said as he hurried over and picked up the uniform from the desk. "Lets go greet them then!" Samael said excitedly. Alexander rolled his eyes and gently picked up a bow from Samael's hair, there from probably looking around for the right colors, and threw it back to the basket. The uniform consisted of a normal white shirt, a royal blue jacket and, royal blue pants, and dress shoes. It was...a boy uniform. Oh boy. Samael walked over to the front, watching Aya arrived as he waved and smiled. Alexander waved. "Welcome back, lady Aya. I feel sorry that you have to go on again after such a daring mission yesterday. But then again...this one mission will be quite the ride." Alexander said, keeping himself from laughing.

Veran lead Aya out of the Carriage, keeping her hand in his as he escorted her to Samael.

"Thank you, Alexander. The mission yesterday was rather...tedious." Aya said calmly, bowing her head.

Veran noticed a rather playful aura surrounding Alexander and Samael, making him question their motives.

"So what is this Uniform...I've heard about?" Aya asked, her hands folding behind her back.

Veran suddenly cut though Samael and Alexander.

"Veran come back hereee." Aya complaint, calling him like a dog.

Veran obliged, however bringing back the uniform in his hand.

"What is this." Veran questioned, basically shoving the garment in Samael's face.

"A-A uniform...?" Aya muttered.

"A BOYS uniform." Veran made clear.

"A BOYS uniform...??!" Aya suddenly yelled.

"Samael what is the meaning of this??" Aya asked, crossing her arms.

Samael took out an envelope with a familiar emblem on it. A letter from the queen. "This should answer that question." Samael said as he handed it over. The letter followed;

'I congratulate you for not only helping with the disturbances of the forest, but for also bringing to light the terrible deeds of such an underworld activity that no one knew about.

As for business of this letter, I have to ask of you another mission. The Allen Academy of Orphaned boys is an academy specialized in taking in orphaned boys and educating them to become productive members of society. Many of them becoming adopted before graduation. However there are rumors that those children who graduate without being adopted simply 'disappear'. I wish for you to investigate if this is merely a nonsense rumor or something to truly be concerned about. Being a private institution I cannot investigate myself, so I leave it to you. Find the source of these rumors within the academy, and discern if they are real or not. Until then. -Her Majesty'

"So I have to investigate a boys orphanage academy...where students are disappearing..." Aya muttered to herself.

'Wow thanks Queen Victoria.' Aya thought sarcastically in her head.

"Well the goal is not to get adopted...and I think I can get some help with that." Aya stated, looking at Veran seriously.

"I will be a transfer student who was forced to move to London after my mother died from illness. I will also include that my father died at sea because he was a boatman. I have an eyepatch because of an injury I received while helping my father." Aya quickly made up a story.

Veran nodded in approval.

"My name will be....hmm..." Aya pondered.

"Why don't you choose a name for me Samael? You already seem to be having too much fun. Something branching off of Aya Elizabeth Everus...preferably a name that will sound good with the lady name Eve." Aya questioned.

*Samael paused. A male name for Aya. He had forgotten about that. She definitely needed a male persona to act out. It would make sense for the queen to be concerned about children missing. If it started there, it could end up spreading. Samael finally thought with a possible name. "Allen Eleanor Eve!" Samael said cheerfully, as if he had come up with the best name ever. "This should be a rather difficult mission, I believe, lady Aya. You will have to blend in with the boys in order to explore. I'm goin to guess that cutting your hair short won't be an option, so I suggest you wear this." Alexander said as he offered Aya a newsboy style cap color dark blue to match with the uniform. "You can hide your hair underneath and simply keep it there." Alexander added. "Isn't it exciting, Aya? You're going to end up rooming with these students and maybe making friends this is going to be so much fun for a mission." Samael said. "I would suggest you gain the trust of the students. They are the ears and eyes of the school, after all." Alexander suggested. The two however were actually amused and betting of how long would Aya be able to keep the gig up once she got there.

Aya smirked, this would be either an absolutely horrible experience, or a really fun experience. Veran knew that he would have to be practically watching her all the time, and wondered if there was something he could do to watch Aya without just following her around in secret.

He began to tie Aya's hair up, her getting a little annoyed at this fact, and placed it under the newsboy cap.

Some strands of her hair fell down, more over to the left side of her face.

"I'm too cute to be a boy." Aya muttered to herself.

"You're too cute anyways." Veran purred.

Aya sighed, shaking her head at the demon.

"If you don't mind, I will go with Aya to her changed. We should probably head there soon to her registered. Will you be accompanying her, Samael? Or are you going to make Aya work this mission out herself?" Veran sharply said the last line, almost in a rather threatening tone.

"I expect your answer soon." Veran said, him and Aya heading towards a room to get Aya changed.

"This mission is going to be hell." Aya remarked, Veran buttoning up the uniform shirt.

"This mission is nothing like hell." Veran remarked, fixing the top buttons.

"Thankfully, we don't have to worry about your bust poki--" Veran was cut off with a kick to the gut.

"Don't say that." Aya ordered.

Samael chuckled nervously. Veran being a demon always was something to be wary of. Would he be serious about his threats or was he just joking? No one would ever know. Only Aya. Samael played with his fingers as he watched Aya come out fully dressed, looking like a boy and all. "Ah Aya you look amazing! If I didn't knew better I would have been convinced that you were actually a boy all along." Samael said as he clapped. "Sadly I won't be joining you in this mission. The Queen has already settled an anonymous spot for a transfer student, and that student will have to be you. We'll be cheering you on from all the way over here!" Samael said with thumbs up. Alexander sighed and crossed his arms. "The headmaster, Sir Conrad shall be waiting for your arrival. I do not know how Veran will be able to get in to watch over you, however. Surely he will find a way anyways. We wish you luck, milady. I hear that those boys are rather rowdy. I hope you can keep up with them." Alexander joked.

"I hope I will be able too as well." Aya said simply to Alexander.

"I also hope I will be able to blend in as easily as we anticipate." She added.

Veran looked at Samael, a little disappointed.

"I am sure that me and Aya can handle this, I just hope that nothing gets in her way of solving the case." He didn't seem too happy.

"Lets go Veran. I expect an arrival of my things as soon as I get settled." Aya commanded.

"Understood."

With that, Aya and Veran wished Samael well, and they were off to find the given address. Hopefully their carriage wouldn't seem so...extravagant.

Veran would take the blame, as he would be posing as a caretaker.

As Aya and Veran arrived to the address, they could see it was a large academy, with lots of ground. The left wing contained the dorms, while the right wing contained the classrooms and the mess hall. It contained simple gardens with playgrounds for the children, and enough space for sport activities that the children could be interested in from croquet to other activities that had been becoming popular now a days. They even had a natural lake within the property where the children could go on small boats to fish or even swim under supervision. Orphanages would send children with interest in education and special skills to this academy to be further educated and productive and gain higher hopes of being adopted. After all, a well educated young boy with an interest of some sorts was more likely to be adopted by a well to do family than the other children. It was a way to bring out the potential in those who showed it. Sir Conrad was already waiting for the newest arrival he had been told about. He was a man looking around his late 50s, who whore a casual white shirt and pants with straps. He used a delicate wooden cane to walk around. He sat on the steps, petting a bunch of stray cats that had made the place home, to which no one really minded as they helped with the rat population. He just seemed like he could be everyone's favorite grandpa. "Oh it seems the new boy has arrived." Mister Conrad said as he stood up, waving as the carriage arrived.

"Now Aya, you must not let these boys get to you. If you need my help, just call. I will be looking out for you." Veran kept giving Aya advice on how to act like a boy, Aya just regretting her decision with every word that came out of the demons mouth.

"Aya, you can do it." Veran reassured.

"I know." Aya sighed, her hair now a little messy and more natural looking under the hat, she just looked like a really cute boy.

The carriage doors opened and Aya and Veran stepped out, Veran having to keep himself from escorting the lady out of the carriage.

"Sir Conrad? I am Mr. Joseph Sterben, and this is Allen Eleanor Eve, the new student."

"My mother is gone now, so this guy made me come here since it's the closest orphanage." 'Allen' added to 'Joseph's' statement.

"I was someone who worked with Mr. and Ms. Eve, Allen doesn't like me that much..." 'Joseph' sighed.

Veran was wearing some casual more common clothing, Aya rather happy about it.

"Even though Allen had so much to feel sad about, he always kept his grades up. I believe that this will be a great place for him." 'Joseph' explained.

"My father taught me that I need to try as hard as possible in order to be successful." 'Allen' added.

Conrad nodded as he listened to the young caretaker. "I am terribly sorry for the lost of Mr. and Mrs. Eve. How terrible for children to lose their parents from such a young age." Conrad said. He smiled down at Allen and pulled on his cheeks, pinching them. "He's just an adorable little young boy. He will do wonderfully here." Conrad said as he let go of Allen's cheeks. "We already have his dorm up and ready. The boys are very excited to meet their new roommate. I can take care of him from here." Conrad said as he opened the door and shook Joseph's hand. "We will take care of him. You may come and visit him at any time, and don't be shy of sending letters either." Conrad said as he led Allen inside. "Come along. I'll show you around the academy and then take you to your dorm. I can assure you that you will like it here. There's lots of activities for everyone!" Conrad said as he led Allen inside and waved at Joseph. "Until then." With that, he closed the door. He turned and began to walk down the academy. "We have many classes available from volunteer teachers from all around! Sometimes people will come to look at the Academy and they might see someone they would like to adopt. So you might get lucky enough to gain a new family, if you still do not wish to stay with mister Joseph." Conrad explained. Walking around were a few staff, and students here and there. The students looked at Allen, whispering things here and there, some laughing as they walked by. It wasn't uncommon for children to come here. It must have been the eye patch.

Allen felt the urge to kick this guy in the gut as soon as he lay his hands on him.

"I prefer not to stay with Mr. Joseph, he has kids and his wife hates me." Allen said to Sir Conrad.

As they walked around the school, Allen started becoming a bit more nervous. This was the first time she's been alone in a school like setting in a very very very long time.

"Do you guys offer a German course? I want to work in Germany when I am older." Allen asked, his curiosity rising.

Allen had a strong desire just to call Veran to kill everyone, but he had to make friends.

Veran had lead the carriage away and was camping out in a tree, making sure he was near his master.

"Of course! One of our linguistics teacher would be more than happy to help you further your German, maybe even find a private tutor if you have any difficulties." Conrad said happily. Soon they reached the dorms area, Aya's being in the second floor of the three story wing. "256, 257, ah here we go, your dorm. 258." Conrad said as he proceeded to knock on the door. "I'm coming in boys!" He said, opening the door. The room was normal. It contained two bunk beds on either side, a large window with a window seat, with small shelves on either side for books, which were already halfway filled with books belonging to the boys. On each bunk bed minus one the three boys sat, looking up at the door as Conrad walked in with Allen. "Hello boys. Here is your new roommate, Allen." Conrad said as he gently pushed Allen forward into the room. The boys looked over curiously. "Allen, these will be your new roommates, Giotto, Christopher, and James. You're all around the same age, so I'm sure you will get along wonderfully!" Conrad said happily as he clapped his hands. "Well, I better leave you guys to it! I'll go and get some of the programs for next semester's classes for you, Allen. Have fun." Conrad said, waving as he backed away and closed the door. The moment he did Giotto and Christopher quickly jumped down onto the floor from their top bunk beds. "Allen huh? So you're going to be our new roommate?" Giotto said as he walked around Allen excitedly. "We haven't had a new roommate since the last one got adopted." James responded as he went back into his reading of the book in hand. "Is that an eyepatch? What happened to you? Did a cat ate your eye?" Christopher teased, looking closer at Allen.

Allen was incredibly uncomfortable. He hates being alone, especially with boys. The three boys were all very different, Giotto the curious yet civil type, James, maybe good at academics, and Christopher, who seemed very childish.

"Nice to meet you. I am Allen Eleanor Eve." Allen bowed his head slightly to the group, before Christopher and Giotto started circling him.

"My dad was a boatman, and one day I got hurt while out with him. It's not a pretty sight." Allen explained innocently.

"May I ask how long a semester is here?" He than asked.

Meanwhile, Veran was practically eavesdropping on everything this Conrad did. Aya needed a German teacher. This was his chance to step in.

He would have to give it a couple of days, but would be back at Aya's side in no time, scolding her like always, and not getting yelled back at.

"A semester lasts for ten months out of the year. We then have two months of free time to do whatever we want to do as long as we don't get into trouble. Getting into trouble doesn't help with getting adopted." James said. "And you know what happens to those kids that don't get adopted~" Christopher said as he began to laugh childishly. "They get eaten by the monster in the head master's basement!" Christopher said as he threw his arms in the air. "I don't want to get eaten by the monster in the basement!" Giotto whined. "Christopher stop trying to scare the new kid. There is no monster in the head master's basement, that's just something the older kids tell the younger kids to keep them from sneaking down there." James insisted. "Whatever. Either way, you're not going to get off easy, Allen." Christopher said as he pointed at Allen. "You are the new kid, so you have to go through the grand dorm initiation!" Christopher said, to which the two kids added by raising their arms in the air, and yelling. "Initiation!" Christopher crossed his arms while smirking. "So, Allen, are you ready to become one of us? If you don't do the initiation then we won't talk to you for the rest of your stay so we won't help you." Christopher insisted. "So, are you in?"

Allen smirked, he would HAVE to make it too the basement. Tonight or as soon as possible. He might need some help from Veran, but he would figure what is down there out.

"I would love to go through the initiation! I better get to know everyone since I'll be here for a while." Allen smiled to the boys.

He had to give in and 'make as many friends as possible'.

"I am usually a good kid...well I try to be. However, I do not mind having fun! Even if it is a little risky." Allen explained.

"I'm in!" he exclaimed.
