That is wonderful to hear, as this game is amazing!  It's simplistic, yet remains one of my childhood all-time favorites.

I have never played the game before, is it much different from the Paper Mario and/or Mario & Luigi series? I liked Paper Mario on Gamecube, but never found myself very good at the Mario & Luigi games and I know both of these series pretty much spawned from Super Mario RPG.

Just curious is all :)

Hmm, it bears similarities to Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi and I can see where they derived their inspiration, but it is greatly different from both, I'd say.  Super Mario RPG is probably more simplistic, with basic menus and battle functions (no Star Spirits or bade systems).  I think the main similarity that it has would be the combat system, where you can guard and create combos by pressing buttons, and the fact that it's an RPG.  Otherwise I just don't see a major similarity between the three series.  While the later Mario series are fun for an RPG and I enjoy them, none have been as rewarding as Super Mario RPG.  I guess the story was also more serious in RPG than the others?

Sadly no... However I've played the second Paper Mario! (I barely remember it though I was very young)I'd love to play the Mario RPG sometime!

Ah, that's entirely understandable.  It was sort of difficult to play Super Mario RPG because it only experienced one release (to my knowledge) back in 1997 or so for the SNES.  Maybe I am biased because it was my favorite childhood game, but I think you would really enjoy it should you ever be interested to try it.  I don't think I've played the second Paper Mario myself (Thousand Year Door?) but I've heard that it was a good one!

And still no SNES, DS, N64 and a real GBA VC on 3DS and I doubt it will happen any time soon, considering how hard they are focusing on giving people reasons to buy a Wii U.

I think N64 is a bit much. Haha. DS would be an issue since you can play DS games on them. Lol. They should definitely have SNES and GBA though.

Yes, you can play DS games on 3DS, but aren't original DS games discontinued? If they aren't they (obviously) will be eventually, so Nintendo needs a way to counter that.

Not sure tbh. Nintendo games are always expensive so new stock will last longer. It's not really worth adding a DS emulator to 3DS. There was a lot of worth in a SNES and GBA one but now they don't care. Hasn't been anything major on 3DS since Omega Ruby imo.

well, there is Hyrule Warriors Legends, Final Fantasy Explorers, Bravely Second,  Fire Emblem Fates and Mega-Man Legacy Collection coming up, so they're something. Even if some of their release dates are somewhat far apart.

And about the DS emulation, I have my doubts as well, but who knows what could happen.
