Shulk 8,623 Posted December 20, 2015 A 20-year-old man landed in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital after he spilled out the ending of the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens at a US theatre, a media report said. The man, Raymond Chatfield, walked out of a premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Thursday night and shouted out a major spoiler in front of at least 100 people waiting in the lobby for the next show,thegoodlordabove.com reported on Friday. “I was waiting in line to see the evening show. Then this kid walks past the line, shouts out the ending and starts laughing. He totally ruined the movie for everyone,” a witness said. Three men, who were waiting in the lobby, donning suits of Star Wars characters, assaulted and critically injured the man. He was later admitted in the ICU in Bakersfield city, California. “I saw it all. This guy shouts out the spoiler right? Within 15 seconds, he was on the ground, getting beat up three men,” another witness said. “At first, the crowd was cheering the assaulters, and I think that made it worse. They beat him up for five minutes, kicking and punching him in the gut,” the witness added. Police did not arrest the assaulters and allowed them to watch the movie as planned. “We view this as justifiable assault,” a police officer said. Jake 1,488 Posted December 20, 2015 It still isn't justifiable. No assault is. I guess he should of expected it, but the police should of still dealt with the people who attacked him. It's a freaking movie, geez.. I love Star Wars like anyone else, but the police shouldn't allow a beating to another human being just for a movie. 9 A Heartless Nobody, HarLea Quinn, XionRoxasSora and 6 others reacted to this

Minato arisato 253 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) But why do it when he knew he expected for people to get upset? He's a piece of shit troll that's why. Not justifying it but i would give the guy a punch on the arm for being an ass and spoiling it And I've heard worse, A guy at cosco beat up an old man for samples Edited December 20, 2015 by Minato arisato 2 Moochieh32 and Shulk reacted to this
A Heartless Nobody 120 Posted December 20, 2015 who does that? anybody with common sense wouldn't have done that in front of about 100 people. But policemen letting assaulters off the hook because the assault was "justifiable" is totally understandable.
Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) 3,859 Posted December 20, 2015 who does that? anybody with common sense wouldn't have done that in front of about 100 people. Someone betting money would do it without hessitation, maybe that was the case (eg: a friend told him that he would give him 30$ if he did that) 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Exiblade7 1,917 Posted December 20, 2015 But policemen letting assaulters off the hook because the assault was "justifiable" is totally understandable. no, I'm talking about the person who spoiled the movie for the people who were waiting to watch it. Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted December 20, 2015 I mean, the guy is a total douchebag ass hat for doing that and I think he definitely deserves getting a punch, but getting beaten by three guys into the ICU is a bit much. I wouldn't want those guys getting arrested for doing that, but they shouldn't have beaten a random guy over it. A punch and a shove out the cinema with a fine yeah, but ICU? Nah. Still, that guy is a total piece of shit for doing that. 4 Deadpool, HarLea Quinn, Moochieh32 and 1 other reacted to this
A Heartless Nobody 120 Posted December 20, 2015 no, I'm talking about the person who spoiled the movie for the people who were waiting to watch it. Veemon 1,540 Posted December 20, 2015 Both the person who spoiled the ending and the people who assaulted him are all really crazy. You don't spoil a movie in front of 100 people who are about to watch it for the first time, even if some of them ignore you. You're asking for a whole lot of trouble. And people, I know he spoiled it for you, but is violence the solution? Never, especially about something as casual as movies. I guess I can't fully blame you for defending your fandom, but like I said before, violence is never the answer to getting revenge on someone who does something like spoil a movie. I'm somewhat of a Star Wars fan, but not to the point where I'd totally defend my liking of the movies by beating up people who troll. Only in Smash Bros can I do that. In some ways I'm a hypocrite, but I can't change the past any longer. I can only improve my current self. Rock on!
Kotomi 95 Posted December 20, 2015 Although he very much so deserved it, the ICU is a bit too much. Still, the police are right for not arresting these people, spoiling something this big that they've probably waited and been hyping over being spoiled just minutes before you'll see it is just bullshit. 1 Aqua7KH reacted to this
Deadpool 1,200 Posted December 20, 2015 firetrucking Star Wars nerds. You don't assault a person into ICU and get off the hook. They should have at least be fined. If this were any other movie there probably would have been people actually dealing with this situation, but since it's Star Wars it gets a free pass. 1 Blooming Marluxia reacted to this
Firaga 5,947 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) If you make the conscious decision to act like a real-life internet troll, you pay the price. Seriously, this is like a homophobe going to a homosexual pride parade, holding up a sign that says "All F*ggots Must Die", and then gets beat up for it. It's legitimately hard to feel sympathy for the guy regardless of the outcome. Gamerazor247 877 Posted December 20, 2015 Lol, I was planning on posting a topic about this. All i can say is, 2 wrongs don't make a right, but DON'T freakin' do some returded crap that will guarantee you'll be busted... by nerds. That's just embarrassing. Shulk 8,623 Posted December 20, 2015 While I'd say that the fans might have gone overboard by sending him to the ICU, the guy who ruined the movie for them was a complete jerk and it's completely understandable that fans would get pissed off at him. I'm still mad that I had the movie ruined for me. This is a movie that a lot of people have waited two years for (Even longer for those who just wanted a continuation of their favorite series). A jerk who decides to go and ruin an entire movie for these huge fans should have known he'd get something. He was asking for trouble. firetrucking Star Wars nerds. You don't assault a person into ICU and get off the hook. They should have at least be fined. If this were any other movie there probably would have been people actually dealing with this situation, but since it's Star Wars it gets a free pass. Yeah, it's just because they like Star Wars. All "Star Wars nerds" are just violent, unreasonable ruffians. Just like how video games cause violence. Not really, though. This same thing could have happened in other situations. Marvel/DC movies, story-focused video games, anything along those lines. Not all Star Wars nerds are going to beat someone half to death over a spoiler, but they'd definitely get mad. 1 Sendou Aichi reacted to this

Xiro 3,468 Posted December 20, 2015 I was hoping that this be satire. Unfortunately, when I checked the webpage and saw the International New York Times logo... Same Like, damn, this is pretty messed up. Not only do these dudes beat up the guy for five minutes, but the other people who were there were cheering them on for who knows how long. And the police don't even do a thing either. Being a douchebag/asshat/troll, as bad as it is, shouldn't result in going to the ICU, and getting spoiled is a pretty shit reason for a "justifiable" assault. In the end, everyone involved pretty much sucks. 4 Blooming Marluxia, Enix, MythrilMagician and 1 other reacted to this
