Also, I realize that we have only five imperials and five members of the Seraphim Order, when these are actually some of the larger groups!  If anyone would like to add a character for either of these organizations (or switch sides) please feel free to do so.  I am thinking to kill off Ariana in favor of creating an imperial myself, or perhaps have her feint fealty to Oryx.

But seriously now, I'm going to see what I can do to tip the scales a bit, and I thank you for the additional imperial.  Since I don't really know what I'm going to do with Ariana right now anyway, I'm thinking that her moment of glory has passed and she's going to beg Chrysalis to forgive her in her final dying moments as she sacrifices herself for Chrysalis.  Something like that.

She does not have to touch these metals in order to enact her spells, nor does she have to chant any incantations at this point in her training. Metal that belongs to her is more easily bent to her control, requiring little concentration to bend and throw. Metals that do not have an owner are a bit more difficult, things like metal furniture or walls belong to this category. Metal that belongs to other people is most difficult, requiring much concentration, meaning metal weapons like swords and shields are still quite effective. However bullets fall into the second category once fired. She keeps a large bag of assorted magical metal ingots with her at all times so she is never without a weapon. Some examples of these magical materials is Medicinium, a metal with gradual healing properties if applied to a wound, Resium, a metal that is impervious to energy attacks such as flames or electricity, and Lucil, a metal that generates light. Nothing too powerful, at most a metal that can cause burns with its natural heat.

Personality: A very happy-go-lucky girl, characterized by her childishness and easygoing temperament. She's slow to anger, quick to forgive, and overall charismatic and friendly. A real nice person. Were she a normal girl, in a normal world, she'd be a popular child in high school, her beauty and kindness bewitching all those around her. But what lies behind that smile...


Backstory: A mage who volunteered for service soon after Oryx's rise. Her whereabouts beforehand are unknown, she quickly changes the subject whenever it comes up. But her power was nothing to sneeze at, and so she was accepted into this new regime. She quickly fell into the inner circle of this government despite her seemingly good nature simply due to her strength, toppling demons twice her size and outmatching veteran military generals with ease. Kinzoku's real motives are unknown, but she is very loyal to her job, carrying out missions like an eager to please puppy. It's... unsettling really, to see such a girl, so bright and cheerful, taking out high profile targets and obliterating towns as if she were going to the mall. But, overall, she is a strong ally for the Empire, and has done much for them since her enlistment.

Personality: Isaac is funny, outgoing, optimistic, and a go-getter.  Truly, Isaac thinks life is a game and willingly risks his life all the time.  A very enjoyable person to be around, receiving admiration from many of his comrades.  He fights for peace and order, something that he feels the Empire would provide.


Backstory: Isaac was raised, amazingly, in the criminal underworld.  From a young age he was taught to fight, cheat, and steal, a life that he eagerly left behind in his teenage years.  He struggled for survival after leaving the criminal underworld, until finally falling ill and nearly dying during one of Langerdon's harsh winters.  A young imperial woman took him in and nursed him back to health, to which Isaac felt obliged to repay.  An incident occurred that caused the two to go their separate ways, until Isaac realized that home was in Langerdon and that he truly loved her.  The two married, and ever since Isaac felt that, because of the kindness of his wife, all imperials must, too, be good.  He decided to dedicate his life to serving the empire, a nation that he felt would bring true justice to the world, unlike the rebellions who couldn't possibly fathom everything behind developing an empire and ruling a nation.

Darn, I wondered if that was in error, as I was going to be a bit surprised that Zion was helping Yevgeni's cause unless she didn't know Eclaire was still alive.  That's one less for the Seraphim order.

 

As for Ariana, I just don't know what to do with her that would fit her original role.  I love her character and wouldn't mind continuing her, but I just don't think she would've been taken prisoner alive, or that she would've remained in chains for long.  I also know that I need to focus on an imperial since we have a shortage there, which also was inspiring me to kill her off.  If you have any good ideas for her let me know, as I'm not opposed to keeping her alive just don't know what to do with her.  It seems like it would've been more meaningful if she'd died alongside Korben with the old empire, but I'm not sure.
