Enix 995 Posted November 30, 2015 It HAS to be true. When Terra went to destiny islands and saw Riku, it changed to Xehanort when he was young, then into KH2 riku. So............ Xehanort obviously has some connection to Riku. Not to mention they both have white hair and the way they hold keyblades are similar. That definitely isn't a coincidence. Could Xehanort be Riku father? 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Forever 3,550 Posted November 30, 2015 Father? Doubt it. Parents aren't really a focus point of the KH series.... Past/Future incarnation of some sort? Most definitely. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Komali 594 Posted November 30, 2015 I believe that Nomura just wanted to have this scene in BBS to foreshadow a possible connection between Riku and Xehanort in case if he comes up with a good plot element. He always does these kind of things, doesn't he? It's up to him if it was just a random scene or an important plot point.
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted November 30, 2015 Nomura has already confirmed he did not want to bring family ties and relations into the storyline ( beyond tiny cameos like Kairi's grandma, Sora's moms voice, etc etc.) That scene was suppose to show/symbolize the future connection between Terra and Riku since they follow similar paths involving darkness. ( just like Xehanort in ways as well) They both ended up possessed by Xehanort too. Nomura himself explaining this: What’s the meaning behind the several puzzling images in Terra’s chapter where we cross over into his mind? Firstly, when he hears the name of the masked boy from Master Xehanort at the mysterious wasteland, and we see an image of Aqua and Ventus defeated, that’s a hint of the future. On Destiny Islands, when he makes Riku his successor, he has a special view of him and catches a glimpse of his future. However, this isn’t to say that Terra has the ability to see the future–it was a directive nuance intended to portray the future connection between Terra and Riku. 6 Exiblade7, Movies798, Robbie the Wise and 3 others reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 30, 2015 I doubt Xehanort is Riku's father, but they do have a connection! What Terra saw, and well, by default, we saw, is what would come to shape Riku's future! Xehanort has been a big part of Riku's teenage years in terms that he's tried to claim him to the darkness. But Riku, with great effort, managed to hold off that darkness at bay, and now he stands, a Keyblade Master! But yeah, I don't think Xehanort could be Riku's father. Dave 5,715 Posted November 30, 2015 Given the obscene age gap, I'm inclined to believe this is not the case.

KingdomHearts3 2,591 Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) I am disinclined to say this is true because it isn't. To big a gap between them. Edit: this post is number 2006, the same number as the year for KH2's NA release. Oh yeah, sure. And Maleficent is his mom. Yeah, and the Evil Queen is his aunt who had an illegitimate child.
