Why do people dislike the idea of live action worlds in Kingdom Hearts?

Recommended Posts

I have nothing against using Live Action films in Kingdom Hearts as a matter of fact when you first go to Port Royal in KH2 Sora and Goofy say that this world is kinda different is a reference to that being a world based off of a Live Action Disney film and it was the first one they ever went to.  The Tron worlds are great and I think they get away with it because most of the movies the worlds are based on was CGI so it was an easy work around.  And with the new Kingdom Shader (I think that's what it's called) they should be able to make Sora Donald and Goofy fit better into those worlds if they ever us a live action based world again (I kinda hope they bring back Port Royal and do Dead Man's Chest as the main story)

I have absolutely nothing wrong with live-action worlds. In fact, I love that KH even went as far as to include something like that. I love wacky crossovers, (that don't suck or are intended to be a comedy) it's why I love comic books. So, seeing it come to life was amazing. I want them to do it more. (preferably with SW or Marvel, but hey, I'm fine with whatever)

Anything is fine with me for a KH world,Wether its Frozen world,Star Wars,Marvel,Pixar,Live action Disney,Final Fantasy world,Chrono Trigger,Secret of mana,The world end with you or classic Disney I don't mind as long as Square can make it work in the KH univers and what's happening in the world is interesting.I don't see how going though a Marvel world could ruin the game,Kingdom Hearts is all about the fun gameplay, nostalgia and the story. To me Princess Peach could be a princess of heart and I'd still like the game just as much. I'd be awesome to see Sora in Midgar or inside the Phantom Train of FFVI.

Port Royal was only bad visually: it was alright in and of itself.

The only downside is hardly any of the live action films would work: live action remakes are out if they were already canon as animated. Having Alice jump from little girl to grown woman would be a MASSIVE stretch. Redoing Maleficent to match the remake would make no sense (Like when OUAT did it).

Haunted Mansion might have a shot, though, as well as Mary Poppins.

(I'm personally rooting for Babes in Toyland: fighting Heartless in the square would be awesome, or fight against the toys, possessed by Darkness)

While I didn't like the art style of port Royal, it didn't bother me that it was a live action film. Also, the kingdom shader in KH3 might make live action worlds seem more palpable.

This is pretty much my take on the topic too.

Prince of Persia is so forgotten or unknown.

THAT WORLD IN KH COULD BE AWESOME!!!

On other news, I don't mind any type of worlds in Kingdom Hearts.

I wouldn't mind seeing Star Wars either.

As long as it's done correctly then I have no problem with it.

The worlds I hate usualy have maps that annoy me or have a boring story.

I think it would be awesome :D.(BTW, I loved Atlantica. Yes, I'm a sucker when it comes to singing.)

Me too. I didn't love it but I don't give it as much hate as most people do. :P

It's honestly because they think feel that Live Action movies in Kingdom Hearts 3 would feel really out of place. I'd love to see live action worlds in kingdom hearts 3 especially with what we've seen with the power of the ps4.

I don't have a problem with Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Riku interacting in the Live Action worlds. They are Disney Movies though.

It reminds me of Space Jam, that cartoon/live action show/movie Cartoon Network was showing years ago, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I don't have any issues with live action movies in KH but rather with Marvel and Star Wars. I don't dislike either of them, but I just feel KH can never do them justice because they are such big franchises on their own. We are not talking about a 90 minutes regular Disney movie which does not have necessary sequels but a whole universe for each respective world. The previous Kingdom Hearts games barely managed to cover the usual Disney movies within the few cutscenes available. Even with KH3 probably becoming quite a bit larger, I still have my doubts whether they will be able to incorporate even a small part of those franchises accordingly without making it feel unfinished and rushed. I think people will be disappointed because both Marvel and Star Wars are not likely to play an amazingly important role in the last part of the Seeker of Darkness saga.

Apart from Maleficent and the live action movie of Alice in Wonderland (I mean, there is a Wonderland world already and that Alice is a PoH too. It wouldn't make sense to change that now.), I'm actually open for other movies, I just don't know which. As far as more realistic styles go, I still would like to see a Final Fantasy world. Even more than a live action Disney movie.

The only ones I've ever heard about are Marvel and Star Wars and to be honest, it just doesn't seem like a good fit.  I have nothing against live action films at all.

It's not that I have issues against live action Disney films being implemented as worlds in Kingdom Hearts, because Port Royal, Space Paranoids and The Grid worked just fine! I think it's all a matter of how the live action movies fit into the Universe of Kingdom Hearts overall, ya know?  The list you mentioned here, which lists Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, The Santa Clause and such, make for good examples of good live action Disney films that could be implemented into the Kingdom Hearts series in the near future!  As long as Nomura finds a way to implement those worlds seamlessly into the Kingdom Hearts Universe, then I don't have a problem! :)

Like I said, it's not that I have a problem with live action Disney films being in Kingdom Hearts, I guess I'm just a little mixed in regards to how other live action Disney films would work, ya know?
