The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 10, 2015 Hey there everyone, how's it going!? You know, there's something that's been bugging me for a while in a certain aspect of Kingdom Hearts II. It'll probably seem like a minor thing, but I felt I needed to mention this. So anyways, in the Mysterious Tower, Yen Sid explains to Sora, Donald and Goofy that while they had succeeded in driving back a great number of Heartless in their previous journey, the strongest still remained around and about. Okay, that's fine and all, but explain to me how these specific Heartless didn't fit the bill for strongest Heartless? Last time I checked, these Heartless were pretty damn strong, so why is it that they didn't manage to stick around for Kingdom Hearts II? One would think that these Heartless are strong enough to remain, but apparently, that's not the case. I find it strange. But hey, that's just me, ya know? What do you all think of this? 5 janicepibc70, Exiblade7, nonicepifz72 and 2 others reacted to this
XionRoxasSora 239 Posted November 10, 2015 Nomura probably wanted a different variety of heartless than KH1....I honestly have no clue tho 3 Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀), PrinceNoctis and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 10, 2015 Nomura probably wanted a different variety of heartless than KH1....I honestly have no clue tho That could be the case, but he should have at least saved the Invisibles, Defenders and Darkballs for the harder worlds, ya know? But yeah, I guess it's one of those mysteries that'll always hang in the air, ya know? 1 PrinceNoctis reacted to this

Anti-SOLDIER 68 Posted November 10, 2015 Well maybe an idea is that they were somewhere else in the world and Sora just happened to not see them. There ARE a lot of Heartless and they never really go away, so it's possible. Other than that, I would have loved to see some of KH1 Heartless return like Behemoth and Invisible. They would have made epic battles with KH2's battle system 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Headphone Jack 1,147 Posted November 10, 2015 i just watched that scene and it looks like he didn't say anything like that. Here's what Yen Sid says: "Your past endeavors did prevent an immense effusion of heartless from the great darkness, make no mistake about that. However, the heartless are darkness made real, and darkness lingers in every heart. The heartless are fewer but while darkness exists in a single heart it will be difficult to eliminate them." anyways i'm sure nomura probably wanted to make a new batch of strong tier heartless for this new numbered title. it would be boring to keep the same ones from the older games. gotta change it up a bit. 2 Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) and The Transcendent Key reacted to this

But also in the cutscene (that was before the battle of a 1000 heartless) in Kh2, You can see behemoths and wyverns we can't fight them though... 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Dave 5,715 Posted November 10, 2015 A good canon explanation could be that the Darkballs and Invisibles, being the strongest of the pureblood Heartless, only started appearing after the Door to Darkness was opened. Now that it's been locked off, they no longer have the strength that they had prior. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Keyblade Master XIII 34 Posted November 10, 2015 Nomura's artistic advances aside, what Yen Sid mentioned was their previous journey prevented "an immense effusion of Heartless", and to an extend it can be said the "immense effusion" was that of the greater Heartless: Behemoths, Darksides, Defenders, etc. It can even be said that those that remained were weakened, having been cut off from the great darkness. This can be proven by looking at how powerful the Neoshadows were in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, contrasting their other appearances afterward. 2 Kaitengiri and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) 3,859 Posted November 10, 2015 I don't know about the other two, but Roxas annihilated all of the Invisibles. Yea i guess... But also in the cutscene (that was before the battle of a 1000 heartless) in Kh2, You can see behemoths and wyverns we can't fight them though... As far as I remember, Behemoths and Wyverns were only shown in pictures before the game's release, when you played the scene in the game, these heartless didn't appear. And now, the reason why these heartless didn't appear, it's because Nomura wanted different heartless to appear, that's all. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 11, 2015 The invisibles were definitely my favorite heartless of kh1, and I would've loved a reappearance. Oh my God, I know, right!? They just scream badass! Here's hoping they make it back in Kingdom Hearts III! Well maybe an idea is that they were somewhere else in the world and Sora just happened to not see them. There ARE a lot of Heartless and they never really go away, so it's possible. Other than that, I would have loved to see some of KH1 Heartless return like Behemoth and Invisible. They would have made epic battles with KH2's battle system That's a pretty good theory you got there! There could be indeed a great many number of Heartless that Sora wasn't able to encounter! After all, there's only so many places Sora can go, eh? And yesss, just imagine how beastly they'd have fought in KHII! X_X i just watched that scene and it looks like he didn't say anything like that. Here's what Yen Sid says: "Your past endeavors did prevent an immense effusion of heartless from the great darkness, make no mistake about that. However, the heartless are darkness made real, and darkness lingers in every heart. Well, you've got a good point there. There always has to be variety in everything, right? Still though, I really feel that at least the Invisibles should have stuck around, ya know? Yea i guess... But also in the cutscene (that was before the battle of a 1000 heartless) in Kh2, You can see behemoths and wyverns we can't fight them though... Oh yeah, I remember that scene! A good canon explanation could be that the Darkballs and Invisibles, being the strongest of the pureblood Heartless, only started appearing after the Door to Darkness was opened. Now that it's been locked off, they no longer have the strength that they had prior. Ah, that makes sense! After all, the great Door To Darkness does contain some of the baddest Heartless around, them being in the Realm Of Darkness and all! I guess that's a good explanation! Ooh, I hope we get to see them in A Fragmentary Passage! Nomura's artistic advances aside, what Yen Sid mentioned was their previous journey prevented "an immense effusion of Heartless", and to an extend it can be said the "immense effusion" was that of the greater Heartless: Behemoths, Darksides, Defenders, etc. It can even be said that those that remained were weakened, having been cut off from the great darkness. This can be proven by looking at how powerful the Neoshadows were in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, contrasting their other appearances afterward. Hmm, that is true. If the Door To Darkness had remained open, I guess the Heartless would've been even more beefed up! I don't know about the other two, but Roxas annihilated all of the Invisibles. As far as I remember, Behemoths and Wyverns were only shown in pictures before the game's release, when you played the scene in the game, these heartless didn't appear. And now, the reason why these heartless didn't appear, it's because Nomura wanted different heartless to appear, that's all. Oh yeah, I remember fighting em as Roxas in Days! But hey had different names, if I'm not mistaken! But it's weird that Nomura removed the Behemoths and Wyverns at all, ya know? But hey, Nomura's the man with the choices, so he's the one that calls the shots!
