Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) See the real problem isn't that the trailer hasn't been released yet, it's that they hyped D23 (Specifically November 3rd) with Nomura saying "I can't much now but there will be more information in November 3rd so please look forward to it". This statement was made in a national Japanese publication, with no indication given that this "new information" was only to be given to a privileged few. Let's forget about the rest of the world for a minute, not even everyone in Japan got to see the trailer. The fact that this statement was made in an easily accessible form of media like a magazine makes it seem as though they intended to released whatever information came up to the public and now they seem to be back pedaling on that. We aren't mad that they haven't released the trailer, we're mad that they intentionally got us excited for an event two months ago and now seem to have no intention of following through. velvetlovetts 10 Posted November 7, 2015 Yeah I just now read that square Enix confirmed there will be no trailer releasing anytime soon. And that they announced this due to a "false rumor that swept social media." Haha that false rumor swept days ago, confirming there was no trailer would've been nice days ago as well. 1 The 13th Kenpachi reacted to this
Kittenz 4,281 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) They don't want to show the majority something so unpolished, they want to wait till they can show us something better. They showed a small few to get their reactions on what they currently have most likely Game developer logic 101 It's like an artist that refuses to show you their work until their done, but might show their mom or best friend. Of course, with games instead of ''when it's done'', it's ''When we have reached a desirable goal''. To be fair, kh3 and yandere sim have been the games i've heard the most info on that i'm waiting for, every thing else only has one single trailer and scraps of evidence. And yandere sim is an indie game. Edited November 7, 2015 by Yuno Gasai 1 keyslinger reacted to this

It's obviously dubbing. That's what's causing the delay.

And those expectations can be as different as night and day. Same goes for what people deem worth getting excited over. Don't get me wrong, like Ven983 said I also expected more than 2 screenshots and an interview from several announcements like this. The fact remains however that I don't think it was ever mentioned what the news entailed and if there would be a trailer. Maybe our definition of being excited is different from theirs. They could have handled this better, yes. This time it would have been better to be a bit more precise instead of not clearing up the misunderstandings when they arose. It is not a secret that most fans were expecting more than two pictures out of an event like this.

All he said was that Square never announced anything, so no one should have gotten so hyped and bitter when one hadn't come out. It doesn't mean the trailers won't come out. Dimenital 2 Posted November 8, 2015 Honestly been reading this thread for the last 10-15 minutes and have to say the amount of whinging is so darn high. Look I was looking forward to said trailer as well but here's the thing we were never promised a trailer at D23 just information. I'm not saying we cant be sad or disappointed by this turn of events but lets not forget that this whole situation was because someone decided they wanted to troll the collective fanbase by writing in that they were told that a trailer was going to be released. Because I can guarantee that if said troll never said this or claimed this then nobody would be this upset or fired up. Sure we all would have been disappointed, but people is it seriously worth it to be this upset over this?
Sora96 17,256 Posted November 8, 2015 (edited) I get that Disney is the most powerful entertainment conglomerate in the world, however, they're not stupid enough to pull this bollocks. This is Square Enix's fault. Disney of America never placed an embargo on their news reveal. Stop blaming Disney for something that they did not do. As Square Enix are the game developers, it's Square Enix that has the right to release the trailers. If it was Disney then why didn't D23 Japan itself have an embargo? or better yet, why did the information for Anaheim's D23 be released immediately after it finished airing? Why was the embargo not there? Disney owns Kingdom Hearts. It's a Disney event. Disney is incharge of the trailers. To the point, for awhile the KH trailers were exclusive to Disney accounts. You can try to protect your precious Disney but they own the IP, it's up to them. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 8, 2015 *Deep and long sigh.* Okay, I'm just going to keep a level head and remain calm about this until the final day of D23, which is tomorrow. I still say that there's hope that the trailers for KHIII and 2.8 shall be released! Disney can't do this to us! After all the waiting we've had to endure all this time, this can't be how it all ends! There has to be hope still! Remember, since tomorrow is the final day of D23, I'm pretty sure Disney will want to go out with a bang, so they'll release the trailers to an eager public, and then upload them to Youtube for everyone to see! And this is me being positive...if after D23, if a few days pass and we still don't get a trailer, then I'll join the community in its spiral of sorrow...but for now, I remain hopeful! #Don'tLetTheDreamDrop! Vexen 73 Posted November 8, 2015 It is true that Square never said anything about releasing a trailer. Nothing has been confirmed as of now, but the point is we were told to look forward to new footage and Nomura hyped up this event, yet we have nothing right now other than 3 screenshots. The information we have been given thus far is clearly insufficient which is evident from many of us wanting ONE trailer. There was TWO TRAILERS in Premium Theatre, yet I think the KH3 one will suffice.

But see you have not backed this up with anything when confronted by facts of who is actually in charge of what. (Not saying SE is not ever responsible for this kind of crap.) But in this case it certainly seems to be. Disney owns KH, it was their event, they already issued an embargo at said event for their own profit ( there was a second showing) and Disney is in charge of promotions....soooooooooo I think it's time to start assessing facts and not emotions here to deduce what's happening. 3 Sora96, keyslinger and Master Eraqus reacted to this
