Dracozombie 4,554 Posted November 1, 2015 It's already been mentioned, but experiments of Ansem's apprentices and Aqua alone in the Realm of Darkness unsettles me a bit. The Heartless experiments involved suppressing, extracting, or amplifying the darkness in peoples' hearts to the point that they're reduced to mindless creatures. One can only wonder just what the apprentices had done to other human beings to manipulate that darkness. And Aqua's entrapment is more depressing than scary, but I can't imagine walking around a dark, monster-infested plane with no seeming way out, no other human contact, no way of knowing what's happening on the outside world, and, though KH isn't a series that would need to answer such a question, no guarantee where she'll get food and water. Enix 995 Posted November 1, 2015 The only thing scary about KIngdom Hearts is their faces. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jJWsc7uDuU
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 1, 2015 Yeah...I think that the scariest thing in the Kingdom Hearts series up till now is probably the World Of Chaos at the end of the first Kingdom Hearts! Fighting that giant, monstrous battleship was quite something, and it had a very creepy appearance! O.O
Moochieh32 676 Posted November 1, 2015 I think we can all agree that Kingdom Hearts is creepy as a whole. While Disney may stand by its side with it's funny moments, the whole idea of heartless which are creepy themselves, and them taking over Disney worlds and killing people to steal their hearts, is pretty creepy alone. I mean, am I the only one here who's actually excited to see what kinds of heartless we're going to see in KH3? Considering the past few games, we can all agree Nomura intends to make them look eerie and terrifying. I hope he ups their scare factor this time
HeartlessAqua 38 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) As a kid, KH1 spooked me a little several times. Probably because of all KH games, it's the one that made me feel immersed in the world and story the most, like I was on an adventure rather than playing a cool game with a cool story. So eerie scenes like the Darkside rising from your shadow, the shadows attacking the island that was once safe and peaceful, the man getting his heart stolen in Traverse Town, and even being hunted by Sabor in Deep Jungle or dwarfed by giant Ursula in Atlantica got to me a little. Not in a terrifying sort of way, but in a tense, spooked sort of way. Kurt Zisa also scared the heck out of me as a kid, simply because I was not expecting him at all! I thought that talking to Carpet would just take me to the Cave of Wonders or something, but nope! Crazy ambush by a giant killer snake thing with huge blades!!! As a person who has a fear of sharks, the moment I saw the shadow upon entering the ship had me hesitant on moving forward. As if the deep silence of the ocean with the music being stopped was pushing it enough ._. Then the camera angle changes, sort of like Resident Evil style, making you able to get a nice view of that wide open breakable window with a luring chest right in front of it... after seeing the shark come smashing through the window, that become one of the most scariest experiences in video games in my entire life. Now, every time I go through Atlantica in that game... the moment I swim through the next room and seeing that sunken, eerie ship... aww sh*t... I still remember that damn jumpscare to this day. What were they thinking?! And Glut himself ain't no pushover- it took me three tries to beat him, which means three jumpscares!
