When Do You Think Kingdom Hearts III Will Be Released?

Sometime in 2017 is my guess, not sure WHEN though. Nomura confirmed KH3 is definitely the next game after 2.8.

Ever since the announcement of 2.8, I figured KH3 would be set for late 2016. I don't think 2.8 is going to stall it reaaaally long, I guess I saw 2.8 as a stepping stone to 3.

They're not going to release two KH games in one year, it's not a smart business move. 2.8 and FFXV will be released next year and FFVII is no where near complete yet so that's definitely not coming in 2017, so that means that in 2017 KH3 will be their most highly anticipated title that will actually be close to completion. So from a business standpoint the most lucrative move would be to release it during that holiday season (though I'd really like a Spring/Summer release.) That year will also be the 15th Anniversary of the series so there will be a lot of promotions they could use to make an even larger profit.Now I'm not one of those who thinks Square is just a soulless cooperate greed machine, I think they do, in fact, care about the fans, if only because they know a happy customer is a loyal one.Bottom line, yes they want our money, but they know keeping us happy guarantees that they keep getting that money. So it really depends on how late they think they can wait to release it after it's done without pissing us off. Kingdom Hearts III was supposed to be the next main Kingdom Hearts game. Heck, fans everywhere were expecting it to,be released 2015-2016. Then Square went and announced 2.8.

Assuming that they go for a worldwide release (and it seems they will aim for that considering that some English voice work as been done): Japan usually gets the game during Q4 or early Q1, while the rest of the world recieves it in Q2 or Q3.  So assuming they go for a worlwide release, you can really just take the difference and assume that we will recieve it either late Q1 or Q2 in 2017.

So I originally thought it was going to be 2016 but of course 2.8 was announced so that's definitely not happening. Now because we have confirmation that kingdom hearts 3 WILL be the next game after 2.8 there's is no doubt it will release in 2017 midway or fall the latest.

I'd have to say Q3 2017 at the earliest, Q4 at the latest, currently.

 

2018-2020 seems far too pessimistic, honestly. They have no other reason to delay the game, as they won't release another KH Game after 2.8 before KH3 and they won't be switching engines again.

I assume it will come out in the second quarter of 2017. However, I really hope it has a same day release on the 15th anniversary of the series, which falls on a Tuesday when KH games usually release in NA.

Didn't he say that for KH3D tho? x) I guess it's defendable since he could've been talking about the order of the games in the timeline. Maybe he was refering to full games...not remasters. Who cares. I'll shut up.
