Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) Oh dear god... It's too early to be doing this, Nintendo! http://kotaku.com/report-nintendos-next-platform-nx-is-a-console-handhel-1736904323 To quote the Wall Street Journal. "The exact shape of the NX hardware isn’t yet clear. People familiar with the development plans said Nintendo would likely include both a console and at least one mobile unit that could either be used in conjunction with the console or taken on the road for separate use. They also said Nintendo would aim to put industry-leading chips in the NX devices, after criticism that the Wii U’s capabilities didn’t match those of competitors." Read the article for more info. OmegaForte 1,674 Posted October 16, 2015 RIP Wii U. /shot "Industry leading chips..." They better, although I'm hoping their architecture is similar to the other consoles/PC so 3rd party won't say the excuse "too much work to port."
Shulk 8,623 Posted October 16, 2015 I'll say it again: Nintendo said they'll continue to support the Wii U even after the NX, so this doesn't mean the end of the Wii U. Anyway, considering that Enix is developing Dragon Quest X and XI for the NX, it makes sense that development kits are going out now. I still don't think the NX will be released as soon as people are saying it will be, though. I'm also skeptical of the console/handheld hybrid rumors, since people seem to forget something pretty important: What happens in a family where multiple members want a handheld? Do they need to buy multiple home consoles just so they can all have the new handheld as well? Sure, they could sell the handheld separately, but given that all of these rumors seem to state that the console and handheld are heavily reliant on one another, I have my doubts. Hopefully we'll still get some killer Wii U titles before moving on to the NX. I really friggin' hope so. They usually deliver with that. We already have one major title coming later this year (Xenoblade X), and two major titles confirmed for next year (Star Fox Zero and Zelda U). Those certainly won't be the last big games on the system, either. 1 Hargleblargleboo reacted to this

Shulk 8,623 Posted October 16, 2015 Come ooooonnnnn F-Zero U.... T3T""" Miyamoto said a while back that they want to make a new F-Zero, but they're trying to find the best control scheme. I don't think an F-Zero U will happen, but I think that we could definitely get one on the NX. Bonus points if it's a launch title.

Enix 995 Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) Well, let's see what they got and can they beat their Wii U? The Wii U is already beaten and dead. It's the Dreamcast of this genaration. Edited October 16, 2015 by ラッキー

I sure hope my Wii U doesn't die any time soon, my between all the upcoming games I'm looking forward to, my VC library and those already on disc my backlog is ridiculous. People keep saying it is dead! D: 1 Shulk reacted to this

Shulk 8,623 Posted October 18, 2015 That's why your favourite developer has already moved onto NX. Uh... what? Last I checked, Monolith Soft just finished their newest Wii U game, which is still in the localization process outside Japan. Try not to assume things about people next time, thanks. Shulk 8,623 Posted October 18, 2015 If you followed that developer you'd have known the very day they got the NX dev kit they started a massive recruiting drive. The news sites I follow didn't make any sort of mention of it. Also, of course they're working on a NX game now. They spend years on their games, they're not the type to release a new game once a year.

I don't understand your point. Currently the staff over at Monolith are more than likely working on a project for NX, they started development on Xenoblade X as soon as Chronicles was done so this isn't surprising. However some of their staff are currently working on Project X Zone 2 for the 3DS. The Vita can stay around for as long as it wants, doesn't mean it is half the console the Wii U is in terms of fun.
