Why remove a base game piece of content that was originally there and lock a similar thing behind amiibo support? Nintendo wouldn't remove anything from the original. Assuming that the Cave of Shadows is the same thing as the the cave of ordeals, but except that it's wolf link only with twilight mosters, they don't have to really "remove" it.
