More than just Keyblades

Recommended Posts

I know this is something that would probably go after the Xeahnort SAGA but what if there was more than just Keyblades? Not the transformations but other Key-weapons (which could have transformations of their own) It would show more personality in combat, more unique fights and characters expressing themselves in other ways.

ideas:

-Keyscythe (For a dark and Gothic like character or someone that resembles death)

-Keybow (Bows and arrows they could double as a physical weapon

-Keybuster (a keyblade the size of Cloud's buster sword .3.)

-Keydagger (A tiny magic based keyblade)

-Keywand (similar to the dagger but only focuses on magic)

-Medieval Keyflail (cause why not .3.)

But idk if this would work, what do you guys think?

I was thinking about this recently, i like the idea. Having to be a master of every single type of weapon though? How about 3 types of Key weapons maximum. Also, there needs to be an explanation why we haven't seen these weapons before, here's a thought:

keyblades were made in the image of the X BLADE, who forged them? I'm going to call him the keyblade blacksmith, he began making keyblades for people to defend themselves against the darkness and to harvest the light. not for war. He was a man of peace contrary to his occupation. Eventually he was forced to make weapons for the war against his own will, he ended up discovering these other 2 types of weapons but he kept them hidden from everyone. In the next saga, through some means, Sora meets this guy and they converse, this guy/girl realizes how pure Sora is and reveals this secret and granting Sora the power to wield these weapons.

Nah, I don't see the point in that. To be honest, it sounds quite silly to me. Having a sword shaped like a Key is quirky enough as it is, I don't think we need to force other weapons into a key-based shape. Plus, all of those could easily become Keyblade transformations anyway, so it kind of defeats the purpose of trying to have separate weapons. Maybe at best there could be a way to just willingly keep them in a transformed state for as long as you want, like how Ichigo's Zangetsu works in Bleach. But otherwise I think the formula of just having key-shaped swords that can transform into other weapons is a lot better of an idea, plus a lot more convenient and practical. I can just picture a key-archer having to fight a huge enemy in a confined space thinking to himself "Yuuuup, sure wish I had a sword right about now..."

Doesn't mean there can't be other celestial weapons out there. They wouldn't be as important as the Keyblade, but they could still be mystical with their own lore. You could have destiny based scythes and bow/arrows and busters/bastards and whatever you want, I just wouldn't see the use of trying to make them separate key-based weapons.

Eh, I think those are better suited to trasformations than entirely new weapons, especially given the already established lore. I want to know HOW Keyblades are made. So far they seep to just pop out of someones heart, but "forging" has been specifically mentioned. Who forges them? How do they know when the destined welder is ready? How are they transported to said wielder? There's a lot of Keyblade lore left unexplained that we could delve into be free introducing new weapons. Besides, maybe especially skilled Keyblade Masters can chose to have their Keyblade permanently trasformed, like Ichigo's permanent Shikai from Bleach.I have a theory but it's old and burried and I don't feel like digging it up or typing out the whole thing now. Suffice to say my theory suggests that Keyblades aren't so much "forged" as they are "born" from their destined welders own heart. Though with recent information that theory has basically been debubked.

Ha, we said the same thing at the same time. Guess you're just a faster typist. Edited by Isamu_Kuno

If we could get keyblade weapons that are similar to the weapons of those in RWBY, I would be completely ecstatic for that. I mean, c'mon, who doesn't love Ruby's scythe?

In the Wisdom Form for Kingdom Hearts II, they could have easily had the keyblade turned into a dual gun type weapon.

Don't like the Idea, There is no such thing as a keyscythe and whatnot and I don't want them to just throw that in for the sake of variety. There will only ever be keyblades because that is what exists in this universe but i wouldnt mind a transformation into a scythe briefly. If they were to be other weapons it would be like 358 where you can play as non keyblade wielders. Only thing is they could never be main protagonists because you need a keyblade to release a heart.
