Nomura was obviously aware of the fans' anger about there being little to no KH3 info in 2014, hence he decided to show that he understands where the fans were coming from by using this specific theme to reflect that. You can view the interview extract below: Q: So I noticed that the Lingering Will's theme, Rage Awakened, was used in the latest KH3 trailer at E3. Why did you go with this specific theme? Nomura: Yes, that's right. I wanted to make up for the lack of Kingdom Heart 3 news last year by showing fans everywhere that we at Square Enix understand all your hardship of waiting for the game. *laughs* Therefore we (meaning I) decided to use this theme specifically to reflect that very fact. Because we at Square Enix understand your frustration of no news being brought to you, just like how most of you are frustrated that you simply cannot defeat Terra's Lingering Will! *laughs again* We look forward to seeing how the fans will react to this new trailer.
