Rin 17 Posted October 4, 2015 (edited) Hi, KH13! There must be some of you who are also excited about Final Fantasy XV! I tried my hand at arranging the main theme, "Somnus," for solo piano. https://versusepic.wordpress.com/2015/10/04/sheet-music-somnus-for-solo-piano/ MIDI can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs40iYXs-zA My not-so-great attempt (this is kind of what it's supposed to sound like): https://soundcloud.com/frapp586/somnus-piano It's my first time doing something like this, so any constructive feedback would be appreciated. That way, I know how to improve future arrangements (they're all going to be from FFXV for now, but I've been thinking of doing some KH songs as well! Especially ones that aren't already part of the lovely Piano Collections). Thanks, and cheers! Omg I just listened to your piano rendition of 'Wonderland's Surprises' I love it sooo much You're so talented with piano pieces What do you use to make music? How do you get the notes onto a midi? Do you compose it on a composer? Or do you use a cable and midi-line-in? here and here are samples of what I make. Sheet music making process: I export the MIDI from the sheet music creator that I use and then make necessary adjustments in GarageBand using a computer keyboard. Speaking of GarageBand, the "Wonderland Surprises" excerpt is played by the computer, not me. I'm listening to your music - some great orchestral arranging there! Thank you for sharing. Dang. Many of my music friends use Mac and Garageband/Logic Pro lol I use windows (I use FL studio and NoteWorthy Composer)

catmaster0116 2,676 Posted October 6, 2015 Yup, I use a Mac computer. I wish I had a Windows computer so I could use FL Studio and Cubase, lol. How's Noteworthy? People don't like it becase it uses a staff and note layout. Most people would prefer FL studio because the composer uses a piano-roll style for composition. Noteworthy is only limited to Midi making while FL studio allows you to use virtual instruments and stuff (makes music sound shiny lol) Hows Garageband and Logic pro? I used to have this idea that the majority of professional musicians all use Mac for music making...and I still think that way lol ~ P.S: That Wonderland Surprise Piano Excerpt is going on my playlist, its so catching lmfao

Actually, what's the difference? Having virtual instruments available does help to get a more accurate picture of the sound, I suppose. I don't have Logic Pro, only GarageBand. GarageBand can do lots of things that I'm still trying to discover. Every time I use it I learn something new. lol Thanks for adding the piano excerpt! I'm glad you like it. 1 catmaster0116 reacted to this

Rin 17 Posted March 1, 2016 Not really relevant to the original topic, but I was fooling around and came up with this. Are there other fan remixes of "Dearly Beloved" as a battle theme? I'd love to hear them but don't know where to start looking (YouTube doesn't turn up any). https://soundcloud.com/rkane1/kh-dearly-beloved
