Pokemon: A new Beginning in Johto (OOC)

"Sorry to keep you waiting! Welcome to the world of Pokémon! My name is Professor Oak. But everyone calls me the Pokémon Professor. Before we go any further, I'd like to tell you a few things you should know about this world! This world is widely inhabited by creatures known as Pokémon. We humans live alongside Pokémon as friends. At times we play together, and at other times we work together. Some people use their Pokémon to battle and develop closer bonds with them. Are you ready? Your very own tale of grand adventure is about to unfold. Fun experiences, difficult experiences, there's so much waiting for you! Dreams! Adventure! Let's go to the world of Pokémon! I'll see you later!"

 

This is the message you received once you turned 10, inviting you to go to New Bark Town in Johto, to meet Professor Elm and receive your first Pokémon, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile. Which will you choose?

 

Rules:

 

Normal KH13 and RP rules apply, no god modding, keep it PG13, etc.

The rest is just ripped from the Interest Check.

 

You can use any moves the Pokémon can use, including egg moves, move tutor moves, etc, and you won't be limited to four. Battles will be done similar to that of the anime, where the Pokémon can dodge and stuff like that, but it'll still be turn based. If you're battling against eachother, to prevent any god modding, or power playing, or anything like that, it's best if you respectfully decide who will win the match beforehand, and then act out the battle to watch it unfold, so as to prevent people from say dodging every attack. I will leave it up to you guys on how much damage your pokemon takes, as well as how close they are to evolving. Just don't go overboard and make your Pokémon evolve too quickly.

 

As for Pokémon you encounter, you're not limited to just the Pokémon that appears in the route, but you can encounter any Pokémon that would be found in that habitat. Like say you're in a grassy field, you can encounter various Normal, Grass, and Bug types. Nothing ridiculous though, like finding a Water type in a volcano. I will also leave it up to you guys as to how much damage the opposing Pokémon takes, as well as how difficult it is to capture. Again, don't go overboard and catch every Pokémon in your first ball without damaging it.

 

As for legendaries, when I put up the OOC once the region is determined, I will post a list of all legendaries found in the region. They will become first come-first serve and whomever requests a particular one first, will be the one to capture it. However, as it is my RP and I am creating it, I will take the liberty of reserving ones I want. Yet again, don't go overboard and request all available legendaries. I'm trying to make this as fair as possible, so I would like it for everyone who joins to have their own legendary, if they want one. If you don't like legendaries, you don't have to have one, and someone else can claim it.

 

As for the Elite Four/Champion. It will be done like in the anime where we'll have a tournament where you will face off against eachother as well as various characters from the show, the one who wins the tournament will become the champion, and the Elite Four will not exist, as that would be a bit too time consuming, with everyone else having to sit back as one person takes them all on.

 

Also, something I just thought up, if you want a Pokémon, legendary or not, to be shiny, you can have it be such.

Bio: Chuck was born and raised in Snowpoint City in Sinnoh, growing up with Candice, who went on to become Gym Leader. He is also the grandson, on his mother's side, of Johto Gym Leader Pryce, visiting him in Mahogany town every so-often. Once he received the message to start his adventure in Johto, he got so excited, knowing he'd eventually have to face his grandfather. He hopped on a ship to Johto as soon as he could.

Bio: Adam Eremir is a child who finds most people annoying and tends to only get along with Pokemon. He is distant and quiet, always appearing calm on the outside. He decided that Kanto wasn't a good stage for him to begin his journey so before his ninth birthday he asked his parents if they could get him a pass for the ship so he could head out to Olivine City where he would live with his Grandfather for a year. His parents thought it over and on his 9th birthday  they agreed to send him to Johto. Thus, for 1 year Adam lived in Olivine City. He became rather acquainted with the Tauros in the fields of route 39. Then came his 10th Birthday. His grandfather handed him a map of Johto, A messenger bag, a backpack, and a tent.

 

"You'll do well" His grandfather said to him before giving him a present. on it was a letter from his parents and within the box were 5 poke balls. The letter was very specific about not using them till he got his first Pokemon so he complied. He hugged his grandfather goodbye and with a smile he turned and headed out towards route 39. Taking his first steps towards becoming a Pokemon Trainer.

Bio: Didn't get his chance to get his starter because of his parents getting divorced. Until things got resolved with that matter, his parents sent him to stay with his aunt in Cherrygrove City.

His aunt, being friends with Professor Elm promised him that he would be able to get his first pokemon and begin his adventure.

He always wanted one but he is not sure what his dream is. He currently believes that by becoming as strong as possible he will be able to reach a decision of what he wants to do.

Bio: As a child Cam's family loved to pokemon, they owned a normal type pokemon. He would constantly play with it and one day he went by the gym and decided to see what a gym looked like inside. When he entered he heard some loud noises, most of the loud noises were people shouting. He finally reached the room the shouting was coming from and he some the most exciting scene. He saw people battling for the first time, he had heard you could battle with pokemon but he never imaganed what it would look like. He ran back home and told his parents what he saw, and told them that he wanted to be just like them. The parents looked at each other nervously but agreed, and so he waited a few more years til he turned 10 and head on his journey to become a pokemon master.
