Your Biggest Pet Peeves

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!  As you can tell, I'm new here, and I finally got the guts to post something (cause I'm ridiculously shy).  I know it may be a bit of a... negative first post, but I'm just very curious to know what your biggest pet peeves are.  They can be for anything, not just Kingdom Hearts.

My biggest pet peeve is when people say that Rena Ryuugu from Higurashi is a yandere.  No, she is NOT!  A yandere is someone who is romantically obsessed with someone and will kill anyone who gets between them, and sometimes they'll even kill the one they love to keep them from being with someone else.  Rena doesn't kill because of love; she kills because she has Hinamizawa Syndrome (its a fictional mental disorder that combines Schizophrenia and Ekbom Syndrome).  So, if Rena is anything, she is a yangire, which is just a fancy way of saying psychopath.  I know it shouldn't piss me off so much, but when I hear people say that Rena's their favorite yandere, or see her in top ten polls for best yandere, it drives me nuts! >:(

Its very similar in Heart no Kuni no Alice when people say Ace is a yandere.  Like Rena, he does kill people, but it has nothing to do with love.  Unlike Rena though, he doesn't have a mental disorder.  I guess this just makes me angrier than usual because in both series, there actually is a yandere character, but people keep saying its Rena and Ace when its not!  Shion is the yandere in Higurashi, while Peter is the yandere in Heart no Kuni.

Yeah, its stupid to get so mad at something pointless like this, but hey that's what pet peeves are!  So anyway, what are yours (if you even have any)?

Nice to meet you & welcome to the site, i have 2 pet peeves actually.

1. When someone calls you but you miss the call by like a second so you try to call them back but they dont pick up. That honestly ticks me off to no end because they literaly called just a second ago. WTH people i know your looking at the phone.

2. When everyone says that they dont want anything from the store but then stare at you & ask you for your stuff. It's annoying and douchey.

I know these are small things but they get to me the most for some reason.

When people leave doors open. I utterly hate it more when someone comes into my room and leaves the door open. Me, out of habit I always close every door in the house.

And I'm sorry for the people that do this, but I can't firetrucking stand it when people brush their teeth in the shower. I think it's completely 100% gross. I mean, people can do whatever they want. But what really kills me if someone leaves the toothpaste IN THE SHOWER (and it's the toothpaste that I use) it's firetrucking gross especially to watch all the nasty old water puddle around the toothpaste tube from other people showering. And then when you go to use it to brush your teeth water comes out of the tube. Just omg firetrucking no like don't leave the toothpaste in the shower if you brush your teeth in it. Like don't even bring he toothpaste in the shower to begin with. (Twice I've stopped using that toothpaste in particular if I saw that it's been left in the shower it's firetrucking gross.)

Just omg.

Don't do it.

Pls.

And for a KH pet peeve, I don't want to start some beef on here but all I'm going to say is Sora is freaking awesome and he's my bby and he's one of my favorite characters.

First, welcome to the site. :)

Here are my pet-peeves...

1. Guys that flirt at me and tries to talk to me. (Despite it happens to me when I was in high school, I still hate it...)

2. People asking me awkward questions regarding "certain things". (I'm just keeping PG-13 and not go any further into it...)

3. When lights are being kept on. (I always turn them off...)

4. Driving when people don't use their blinkers to indicate they are entering the same lane where I'm at.

I might have others...

Public toilets that flush before you're finished with them, movie sequels that completely neglect the soul of their predecessors, establishments that keep their thermostats in the mid 60s despite the time of year, people who romance each other in public (a kiss is fine. Making out is entirely inappropriate) Restaurants that make you pay extra for a drink refill, people who blast their car speakers on the highest dial....

Oh dear, I think I could go all day. xD Anyway, welcome to the site! ^^

Most notable of mine would be touching/Moving my stuff without my acknowledgement/permission. I don't care if we are family, friends or siblings but please ask me first before even considering it especially when it comes to my books and games and drawings. It's happened with extended family before and I just hate it if I don't feel like letting the little kid play with my 3ds he won't be playing it that's final I don't care if he cries or if he's family.

No offense, but this is actually a huge pet peeve for me.

People often get the misconception that schizophrenia is a murderious, psychotic kind of disorder. The one with different personalities. Split personalities has absolutely nothing to do with schizophrenia. Imma quote:

"Schizophrenia is a serious disorder which affects how a person thinks, feels and acts. Someone with schizophrenia may have difficulty distinguishing between what is real and what is imaginary (For example they can show symptoms such as hearing voices and seeing things that aren't there and they might get paranoid) ; may be unresponsive or withdrawn; and may have difficulty expressing normal emotions in social situations.Contrary to public perception, schizophrenia is not split personality or multiple personality. The vast majority of people with schizophrenia are not violent and do not pose a danger to others. Schizophrenia is not caused by childhood experiences, poor parenting or lack of willpower, nor are the symptoms identical for each person."

Edit: I wanna point out that I have never actually SEEN Higurashi, however, I know they murder people a lot, so I'm guessing it's the same stereotype as always. Also, I don't want you to feel uncomfortable, I just want to clear up some misconceptions~

Other pet peeves include

- One second being super excited for something, then ending up not helping you out or changing their mind at the last second.

- "It's okay for me, but when you do it, it's the worst thing that could ever have happened"

- People chewing loudly.

I know what schizophrenia is. I'm taking a class in abnormal psychology right now, and plan on taking many more classes on mental disorders because I'd like to become a psychologist. But even before taking this class I knew what schizophrenia was. And yes, I know not all schizophrenics are murders; I know someone who has it, and they are very kind (of course they take medicine for it, so I'm not sure how they'd act without it). Amanda Bynes is also schizophrenic and she's not a murderer.

Rena kills people because: one, she says 'Oyashiro-sama' tells her to kill people that don't believe in him (and Oyashiro is a hallucination Rena thinks exists, he's not real) and two, Rena thinks people are out to kill her, so 'kill them before they can kill me.' So, since she has delusions and is paranoid, to me it seems that she would be a paranoid schizophrenic, and that is a common form of schizoprenia.

But yes, I do agree that many people misunderstand what schizophrenia is. Many people I know, including my father, mixup schizophrenia with MPD, and they are two totally different things. It does get pretty annoying after a while.

As for your other pet peeves, I totally agree! Especially with the second one! People like that piss me off so much!

What I hate...what I hate more than anything...more than anything in the world....is people who tell you something is wrong and then they don't tell you what it is. I'm becoming more sensitive to people who are like visibly upset but don't want to talk about it, I mean asking someone to bottle up their emotions just because they won't tell you what's wrong is a bit cruel. But I can't stand it when people make you play like a frikkin guessing game about what's wrong with them! If you are going to gripe to me on a private chat, acting really upset and making it painfully obvious that something is wrong and me saying "what's wrong?" and them being like "I don't want to talk about it". If you didn't want to talk about it why did you virtually say "SOMETHING IS WRONG" to me? I mean in real life I understand but behind a screen I.....I don't get it
