FFXV likely to have story DLC

Costume DLC is perfectly fine. Kitase said it was quite popular for XIII-2. The rest is just silly, potentially stupid.

I have no issues with Gilgamesh at all.

 

Costume DLC is just silly when handled poorly, usually when you have to pay for it. Also, anyone remember Horse Armour for Oblivion? Which is now going to be in Phantom Pain for D-Horse? I bet £5 that the Chocobo's will have such DLC, since there's gonna be costumes.

 

But I have to ask, what else is stupid about this?

According to the article, "t still hasn’t been determined whether Moogles will be in the game or not, as Tabata still has them under consideration." Although it's kinda weird not to have Moogles, we can still hope that they'll be there in non-DLC form.

And regarding the airship:

"In addition to DLC costumes, Tabata says that it’s likely that the airship will also be a DLC at this point. He reiterates that should it be a DLC, it’ll be available for free."

So at least it'll be free.

As for costumes... it depends. Personally, I'd be fine with not having Moogle Noctis in the game

 

Also, having scenarios for extra characters doesn't necessarily equal main story DLC, as it looks like it's more of a post-game thing. That being said, it is a bit annoying to have all of this as DLC when they can just put it in the damn game. I mean, it's not like they've never done that before -_-

I don't mind DLC if it's done right but this kind of stuff should already be in the game. They are basically putting side quests behind paywalls. 

It's like having the Wutai side quest from FF7 as DLC (I actually think they will do this in the remake).

No, the ending is Serah and Noel. The Lightning episode just showed what occurred for Lightning just prior to Serah and Noel's final battle.

Now by DLC, do they mean the optional stuff you buy from the store, or do they mean patching stuff in?

 

I think Tabata said he wanted the DLC to be free aswell, so if that works out i don't really mind...as long as it's not long after I've already beaten the game

The more I hear about this game, the less interested I get. Story DLC is an absolutely terrible idea. The game's been in development for nearly ten years now, there really shouldn't be any reason to keep story content as a separate download (Yes, I know the development length is due to internal problems, but they've taken this long to make the game. People can wait a little longer for this content to be included on the disc.)

Not including Moogles in a Final Fantasy title? Why would they think that's a good idea? They don't need to make an abundance of them, but I'd like to see at least one little Moogle somewhere along the story line.

I think this looks like a really cool feature. It sort of reminds me of the mounts used in Final Fantasy XIV, as - depending on the month - it plays an iconic Final Fantasy song somewhat related to that mount. For example, the Magitek Armour Mount plays Terra's Theme from Final Fantasy VI. If their able to somehow incorporate being able to upload MP3 files, that also seems to be a huge game changer.

I'm guessing in this case, main theme is different from opening menu theme? Because that was already released by Shimomura.
