  1. 1. How long do you think the gap between DDD and KH3 will be?

    • No gap! It will start directly after the events of DDD
      24
    • A very small gap; a few hours to a week after.
      52
    • A big gap; weeks or months after events of DDD, for them have already completed essential tasks.
      48
    • A full year like between Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2.
      7
    • Longer!! So that Sora outgrows his Kingdom Hearts 2 outfit?

The opening section of the game will take place immediately after DDD and deal with them taking down Xehanort. The rest of the game will fast-forward twenty years into the future with Sora as a grizzled 30 year-old man who uses guns now instead of Keybladess. $$$ confirmed

Yen Sid has a Hyberbolic Time Chamber, remember? She can train to KH2 level in no time. That's only because half that trailer was filmed before his KH3 design was finalized. Remember, The Kingdom of Corona is the first Disney world we visit and sora already has his new clothes and harcut by the time we get there. Dispute how it looks his KH3 and KH2 models are the same height, it's just the proportions that are different, they're more realistic. As others have stated, it takes place immediately after 3D. And Sora is not retaking the MoM, Nomura already stated he has no intention of ever making Sora a true Keyblade Master because he feels it would distance the character from his "normal boy" status. He only went back to the Realm of Sleep to thank the Dram Eaters for their service, that's it, nothing more.

it does say it's the first disney world, but plot still has to happen first, probably starting in a kh world. There was also an interview where Nomura stated he would become a master in DDD and it would allow him to transform the keyblade and do whatever, but of course that doesn't confirm anything since he failed, but I doubt Sora learned how to transform his keyblades out of the blue. Some time needs to pass for him to learn these skills and for Kairi to train with the keyblade.

Maybe either a few weeks or a few months, but as it says in the title of the poll, it's "How long do you Think the gap will be?" Not "how long do you KNOW it will be?" Because nobody truly knows and can't really control what it will end up being. :)

A few weeks after KH3D at the most. Xehanort already made an attack on them, so they certainly wouldn't waste any time in taking action. But training Lea and Kairi definitely needs a little bit of time.

No gap. At the end of KH DDD we see Sora set of to rescue Ventus (probably?) and Riku and Mickey will probably get Aqua. I would hate it if they skip those parts.

Nomura said that Kingdom Hearts 3 starts off where 3D left off, so it's already confirmed when the game will start off. I think that Kairi and Lea will train over the course of the game and maybe show up to the end game. Kingdom Hearts 3 will probably take place over a larger time frame than any other game in the series, excluding Days, so Kairi and Lea will have plenty of time to train.

You don't have to be a Master to trasform the Keyblade, for all we know he's had the ability since the end of 3D and we just haven't had a chance to see him use it. Master is a title, nothing more, you can be on the level of a master without actually being a master, and again, Nomura specifically stated he shoes not to have Sora become a Master in order to keep him a normal boy. This has been stated as fact in an interview. Sora will never be an official Keyblade Master like Yen Sid, Xehanort, Eraqus, Aqua, Mickey and Riku are. Kairi and Lea will become Keyblade Masters before he does. Nomura wants players to be able to relate to Sora, to see themselves in him, so he doesn't want to put him on a pedestal, which is exactly what making him a Master would do. Edited by Isamu_Kuno
