How would you guys rate the Disney Revival the era where Disney started to develop and come up with new and original ideas either based on fairy tales or original stories. Disney themselves don't really know when the era began so a lot of people have their own opinion on which movie started the era. Some people say The Princess & The Frog started it and other say that it started with Meet The Robinsons.

I however believe that the era started at the end of Meet The Robinsons. At the end of Meet The Robinsons reactions for the film was that Disney had made yet another strong and important message and that was "Keep Moving Forward" This was also a reference to what Walt Disney would say to himself back when he made Snow White & The Seven Dwarves proving that Disney was going for a change. Meet The Robinsons was very different from Chicken Little with Chicken Little failing with it's emotional focus where Meet The Robinsons succeeded and showed that Disney was back on the right track again.

Here's how I rate it

This is really hard for me!

1. Big Hero 6 (I love this movie way to much but in my opinion this movie was great. This movie helped me through a tough time in my life in which Olaf could not heal but Baymax could. I went through the same situation like Hiro did so I could relate. I loved the setting, Baymax, Hiro, Tadashi and the rest. The emotional impact and the animation is one of the best so far. I really love this film.)

2. Tangled (What can I say it was stunning, It had great protagonists, story, villain, sidekicks and animation)

3. Wreck It Ralph (When I first saw this movie I went crazy over Sugar Rush, like Yum I wanna eat the Ice cream mountain the animation is so delicious. The characters are likable but Vanellope can be annoying sometimes but i s mostly adorable, I really liked the villain King Candy. the movie also had nice animation and storyline with a unique message)

Animation wise Frozen and The Princess & The Frog wins over Bolt & MTR

Story wise MTR & Bolt wins over Frozen and The Princess & The Frog in my opinion.

4. Meet The Robinsons & Bolt (they were both good movies that had a moving story. The reason why I put Bolt with MTR is because I liked Bolt a lot from when I first saw it but here's the thing. The english version of Bolt is not that great the voice acting is mediocre but the swedish version of Bolt is awesome trust me there Penny sounds like a real 13 year old girl and not like Miley Cyrus. The actors are well cast to dub the characters and brings emotion and life into their characters. Meet The Robinsons is good in both versions I have watched both and they are both great. Meet The Robinsons starts of excellent gets a little weird in the middle but makes a great third act to end the film. )

5. Frozen (Frozen is a good movie but nowhere near a masterpiece. Like before Frozen was released it was targeted to a lot of teens and adults but in 2014 it became popular with little kids and they never let it go. So what I did was that I tried to stay away from Frozen so that I wouldn't create a dislike for it like a lot have but it was not easy when almost the entire YT and world was filled with Frozen parodies, covers and just randomness like that Thriller video, creepy. However I managed to not start hating this movie and like when I first saw it I just think it's a good Disney film and nothing else.) PLUS THOUGH: The colors of blue ice and snow is very pretty to look at and the music is damn catchy.

6.  The Princess & The Frog (Look I really like this movie but I don't know where else to put it. I think it's just as good as number 4, It's just some of the music was not that memorable and the villain was ok he could have been better. Still this movie is just as good like the rest up there just have some small issues.) PLUS THOUGH: I can relate to Tiana's personality of being a hard worker to achieve her/my dreams.

8. Winnie The Pooh (Im probably the only person here who disliked this film. I just couldn't connect to this movie like I had with other Pooh films. The thing is that I feel this movie is just so out of place like the characters we grew up with were not the same in this movie. They had sass, sounded modern and looked different. The original Winnie The Pooh characters would never be sassy or talk about modern jokes. Like Roo's line "Send the pig" or Kanga's personality was way different from her kind and motherly voice in the previous films. Also this movie stole Pooh's Most Grand Adventure The Search For Christopher Robin's plot and my favourite Pooh film. WTPMGASFCR was a Pooh film where the characters developed and gained unique personalities and were tested on a daring journey. This movie is so unoriginal, have a slow pace, bad character development, and Im not a fan of the new designs. It was just out of place from the Pooh franchise and I don't think it deserves such a high rating from critics.)

Remember this all based on my opinion.

I'm one of those people that think it started with PatF

also I really, really love all of the movies that WDAS has released since 2009 so it's impossible for me to rank them. it's like choosing which of my children I love the most, lol

I've only seen Big Hero 6, Tangled,  and Frozen out of the revival, but honestly.... eh.

It has its own perks, but I honestly can't say I think it's perfect. I kinda miss the old, cheesy fairy tale charm of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella, and the newer films having pop and pop rock songs and more action-hero stuff is...decent. Not prefered, but decent. That's partially why I enjoy Frozen: it sort of feels old school Disney, with the songs and ideas, but broke the mold too much.

long story short, not a revival fan here.

While I strongly miss Disney's hand drawn animated films, I have to admit that their mostly CGI films of the present have been pretty good!  I loved the story of Meet The Robinsons, it was such a heartbreaking yet triumphant story, and Lewis was a character a lot of people could relate to!  I especially loved Goob as the villain.  His voice actor was excellent, haha, Goob was one of my favorite characters in the film!  Bolt was pretty good, and I found it enjoyable, and I loved how the beginning of the movie hyped Bolt up to be some kind of super powered canine, lol. Rhino the Hamster was frickin hilarious! xD

Tangled, I have to say, is easily one of my favorite Disney films of the modern era.  I mean seriously, the story, the characters, the music, everything was just splendid!  I especially loved the chemistry between Rapunzel and Eugene, and I found their banter during the movie to be quite funny and heartwarming! Man, I can watch Tangled thousands of times and never get tired of it, so imagine my excitement and happiness when the world of Tangled was announced for Kingdom Hearts III! :')

The Princess And The Frog was also a good film, and I liked Tiana the most as a character, since she was headstrong and fought for her dreams!  Facilier was a creepy guy with his friends from the other side!  The scene where the souls of the underworld came to take his soul in particular was disturbing in my mind, yet oddly epic!

Wreck-It-Ralph was such a joyous and incredible film to me!  Not only was it an incredible nod to the rich history of video games, it was also a film that provided a unique story and a newly shed light on the concept of the "bad guy" in video games!  Ralph was a character you could relate with, and Vanellope was just so darn cute, and I loved the relationship the two developed!  Haha, and the relationship between Fix It Felix Jr. and Calhoun was hilarious!  Overall, the film was amazing, and I really hope it gets a sequel somewhere down the road!  (AND OMG, SORA APPEARED IN WRECK IT RALPH!  IT'S THE SCENE IN TAPPERS, IT'S A BLINK IT AND YOU'LL MISS IT MOMENT!)

The only problem I had with Winnie The Pooh was that the movie was far too short!  Just when I thought things were getting started, the movie ended!  I would've liked to see more of the film, but, it was not to be.  I miss animated Pooh movies, they were my favorite back when I was a kid!  As for Frozen, while the movie is amazing and provides a deep, moving message about sisterly love, I'm not too huge about it.  Sure, the movie is breathtaking and the songs are catchy, but I'm not like: "OMG, THIS IS THE BEST DISNEY FILM EVER!!!"

And now, it comes down to Big Hero 6.  What can I say, I love this film so frickin much!!!  Going into this movie, I knew that it was a not so well known Marvel property, so it intrigued me that Disney was making a film based on a Marvel property!  When I saw the trailers, I found the movie to be interesting, and the villain looked insanely badass!  Fast forward to when the film releases, and when I watch it in theaters, I'm taken away by the sheer spectacle of it!  Baymax is probably the most adorable robot I've seen in history, even more adorable than Wall-E!  Sure, Wall-E's cute, but Baymax is a frickin marshmallow!  Anyways, the story of the film was amazing, and I honestly cried at all the sad moments, especially when Tadashi died, and when Baymax showed Hiro Tadashi's old recordings, and when Baymax sacrificed himself in the portal.  "Are you satisfied with your care?"  That line really got to me! :  But yeah, the film was amazing, and a great part of Disney's Animated Classics, and it's probably my second favorite modern Disney movie, the first being Tangled, as I mentioned earlier.  AND OMG, I'M SO HYPED FOR BIG HERO 6 BEING IN KINGDOM HEARTS III! :D

So yeah, that's what I think about those films overall. :3

For clarity, Era's start ever 9th period. For example

Disney Renaissance: 1989 (The Little Mermaid) - 1998 (Tarzan)

Experimental Era: 1999 (Fantasia 2000) - 2008 (Bolt)

Revival Era: 2009 (The Princess and the Frog) - 2018 (TBA)

Back to topic, Disney's revival era is arguably Disney's greatest era. Yeah, I grew up on The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and The Beast and The Lion King, however, what the revival era has that the renaissance doesn't is non-musicals and better worlds. Yes, it could be argued that the technology of the time limits the potential of world building, however, Disney made non-musicals before but they just couldn't nail the success of one during the Renaissance era.

As far as their musicals go, they've got Princess and the Frog, Winnie The Pooh, Tangled and Frozen. Aside Winnie The Pooh, all those three movies have a memorable song that define the movie. But it's the Wreck-It Ralph and Big Hero 6 movies that ultimately makes this era my favourite Disney era to date.

It's been a solid era, and I do love Tangled and Big Hero 6, but Frozen didn't do it for me. Yeah I can see why people would like it, and it's a good Disney film, but that's just it. It's a GOOD Disney film, it has the right formula for it, but it's no groundbreaking feature.

All of the films have been good to amazing, so it's been a good time for Disney, but I wish they'd do their traditional animation again. The only reason everyone watches CG films is because there is no alternative. I'll admit Disney make CG look good, but I prefer the warm feeling that 2d animation gives me, and they've been using CG in all their films since the Black Cauldron so I don't see why they can't do that.

This turned into a bit of a hinge at the end, dont mind me :D
