Roleplay Kingdom Hearts Re: Fade Into Light (RP Thread)

Radiant Garden- Keyblade Academy

Ordinarily, the Radiant Garden Keyblade Academy was rather quiet, at least by the standards of a school. Not much happened, and it was rare for any sort of exciting events to happen in the years of peace that the world had experienced. However, on this particular day, that was about to change. The Masters of the Keyblade Academy were about to send a group of students off on what would be the most important journey since the one taken by Master Sora and his friends in the past. The previous day, almost 20 students had received letters from Master Sora. Each letter shared the same message, though with slight alterations to include the name of its recipient:

Dear (Student),

Hello, this is Master Sora. I would like to let you know that you have been selected to participate in a very important mission. This journey could take a short time, or many months. I apologize if this interferes with your busy schedule, but you will be excused from all missed lessons during this time period. I would like you to convene just outside the Academy tomorrow at noon, by the fountain. You will receive further instructions at that time. I wish you and your fellow companions the best of luck on this journey!

Sincerely, Master Sora

This particular letter and mission were unknown to those who were not participating, unless a participant had informed them ahead of time. It was just the small group leaving on this quest who had any sort of knowledge as to what they were about to face...

Indy arrived at the fountain early. He hated arriving late, and as such, arriving at a meeting very early tended to become something he'd been known for. Noticing that no one else had arrived, he decided to sit down on a nearby bench, waiting for his fellow students to file in. He knew that his best friend, Raidyn, would be going along with him. Aside from that, he had no clue who all would be joining. He just hoped that they would all be ready for whatever they'd need to face. As he sat, he became lost in his thoughts. This mission could potentially mark his first time ever leaving his home world of Radiant Garden. He could finally go out and see more worlds. He could meet new people. Most importantly, he might finally have a chance to track down the person he'd been trying to find for years... He managed to look calm for the most part, though he could feel his hands shaking with excitement. This could very well be the moment he'd waited years for.

Aello practically bounced up to the meeting place at the fountain. This was so exciting! A secret mission from Master Sora himself! What if the had to save the worlds or beat an evil witch or something?! Looking around, she realized there was only one other person there. Oh, right. She was a bit early. But she really was excited, so she had to make sure she was on time. With nothing else to do, the energetic Keyblade wielder decided to talk to the dark-haired boy. Indy, right? She didn't know him all that well, but remembered that he was hardworking and studious, as well as incredibly talented. "Hello!" She called out as she approached him. "How are you doing today?"

-Artemis Thornton- & -Luna "Nephilim" Urbane-

Shortly after receiving his letter from Master Sora, Artemis headed to the meeting place in short order, coming across Luna Urbane along the way, who preferred to be called "Nephilm", as they both had received the same letter and headed to the fountain. Artemis kept his hands and forearms behind his back while Luna held her blue sheathed, sizeable Katana in her hand, even though it could be secured to her waist, she only did so in Combat. They both arrived shortly after the infamously excitable Aello, along with Indy who was probably waiting for his friend, Raidyn, as their friendship wasn't exactly private.

They both took a seat at a bench next to Indy's bench and took a moment to relax and ponder why they had been summoned here and who else would be involved in such a gathering, especially one organized by Master Sora. Luna rested her Katana vertically but kept it in hand while Artemis kept his Daisho to his side, then looked to Luna. "Why do you think we've been summoned then, Nephilim? Some kind of inter-spacial Wild Goose Chase? No no, that would warrant one person, even as a joke." He asked her. "It has to be important, as letters were sent to us, mind you. I dare say this could be of great importance." Luna added, twirling her hair a little in her free hand. "Then who else shall be arriving, do you suppose...?" Artemis interjected, looking around as he waited to see what would happen next.

Suddenly someone glomped Indy at the most random way possible. She grinned.

"Together again!" She quipped, letting go, almost bouncing up and down. She was full of energy as always, and smiled brightly all the time. She looked over and poked Aello. "Hi." She jumped onto the fountain and turned, leaning forward with her hands clasped behind her back smiling like an adorable anime girl. She seemed pretty at ease and not surprised at this call at all...which made plenty of sense, as her mother was not only her homeroom teacher, but Indy's...and speaking of golden-haired clumsy as hell extremely pervy but utterly innocent and kind homeroom teacher was currently standing on top the fountain, using her shields of light to sleep quietly, waiting for whatever reason the kids were called.

Why the infamous Keyblade Master known as the Saviour of Dawn's Light was napping atop a fountain instead of doing other things, like hitting on cute girls or wondering why Nephilim was so friggin weird.

Joel actually woke up early on that day. He didn't even set any alarms or anything, but he still woke up. As he got ready for the day ahead, he remembered the letter that he had received not too long ago. Oh, that's today, he thought. Heh, good thing I woke up this early. Even if it is kinda odd...

After packing some necessities for the journey and throwing on his signature white jacket (which is kinda hard since that chain thingy is in the way), Joel walked out of his room, bag in hand, and made his way to the meeting place.

Once he was near the fountain, he suddenly felt off balance. He had been jogging over to the fountain and had managed to trip over a rock.

Crap! There's no way I'm going to make a fool of myself before an important mission this time!

He quickly (Aerial) recovered mid-fall and was able to not get himself hurt by the hard ground by Dodge Rolling upon landing. (OOC: Okay, not the most eloquent way of describing that, but hopefully the actions were telegraphed somewhat decently. (Late writing makes Xiro's writing not as good.))

After a couple of rolls, he stopped at the base of the fountain. He looked around to see only a handful of students loitering around.

So I'm still early? Maaan, I didn't have to run at all. I probably still could've slept some more! With that thought in mind, he got up, sat next to Indy, and closed his eyes for a quick power nap.

She didn't know him all that well, but remembered that he was hardworking and studious, as well as incredibly talented. "Hello!" She called out as she approached him. "How are you doing today?"

Indy was shaken out of his thoughts when a girl around his age walked over to him. "Oh, hello." He greeted her. He somewhat recognized her, though he'd never spoken with her before. "I'm good. I'm excited to learn what Master Sora wanted me to come here for... I'm guessing he asked you to meet here, too?" He asked, realizing that she'd probably come over to the fountain for more reasons than to just talk to him.

Suddenly someone glomped Indy at the most random way possible. She grinned.

"Together again!" She quipped, letting go, almost bouncing up and down. She was full of energy as always, and smiled brightly all the time. She looked over and poked Aello. "Hi." Why the infamous Keyblade Master known as the Saviour of Dawn's Light was napping atop a fountain instead of doing other things, like hitting on cute girls or wondering why Nephilim was so friggin weird.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Indy felt someone tackle him. He instantly knew who it was, of course. The exclamation just proved that his guess was correct. Of course, that didn't stop him from completely freaking out over the random hug. "H-hey, what was that for, Rei?!" He shouted. Unexpected hugs and such usually got him a little flustered. Thankfully, the girl quickly moved on, allowing the boy to get back up to his feet. "... You were summoned here, too?" He asked. Of all the people to join him, he didn't think that the energetic girl would be among them. Of course, her odd act on the fountain made him notice the presence of someone else: His teacher, Zion. "... What's Master Zion doing here...?" He asked, confused by her strange place to take a nap. It was in times like these that he remembered that such strange acts probably ran in their family.

After sitting down, another boy who tripped in front of the whole group just decided to sit next to Indy... and sleep. On the bright side, it wasn't as awkward as when Rei tackled him. He also noticed two more students sitting on another bench, and heard them discussing what he assumed was the letter he had received as well.

Sybil never expected to receive a letter from Master Sora himself. But then again, she wasn’t the only one who received the same type of letter. Still, it felt nice to be somewhat recognized, even if it was just by the means of being volunteered to a mission. To avoid boring classes and be excused from them while doing an important mission or so was actually a pretty good deal too. Before leaving she made sure to bring herself a large bag of cookies, her favorite flavor of chocolate chip, can’t go to a mission hungry! That would be a terrible idea. She walked towards the appointed meeting spot by the fountain, only to find people already there. Some were scary looking, others she had never even seen before. Yet, they were all going to do a mission together, so avoiding contact was inevitable. All just huddled around talking and being overall friendly, to which she definitely could do. “Oh boy, there’s so many of us for this mission…this is going to be a really big thing then?” Sybil asked to no one in general, just overall in hopes that someone would respond. She offered off her cookies to the other students. “If master Sora needs this many students then surely it must be…dangerous.” Sybil added, whispering that last word in her own worry.

Zather finished typing in the last date and location, then hit enter. A new dot on the holographic map of the known worlds appeared, along with a new end point for a timeline the twins were working on.

~*Inside the Nexus*~

In the dark expanse stood two Stations of Heart, conjoined in the middle, making it look close to a figure eight from above. Where they were separate, they looked normal enough, depicting images of the person it represented and things important to them. Where they linked, how ever, was an abstract mess of black and white shapes. If one was to look at it too longe one could feel that it was looking back.

"And that's all you are able to remember?" Zather asked, standing in the middle of his Station.

His sister, Annistha, stopped her pacing as she reviewed the recovered memories she had unlocked during sleep.

"Yes." She finally answered. "The last thing I remember is us getting ready to rush the cave."

Zather nodded. Last nights dreams had unlocked many new memories for both of them. They revealed something both of them never dreamed to hope for, but left off at the worst possible time.

"Do you think they're still out there?" Annistha asked, uncertainty clear in her voice.

"Only one way to know for certain." Zather said with a shrug.

"Well, it looks like we'll be missing a few classes-" Annistha began.

~*Outside The Nexus*~

A beeping from an alarm clock caused Zather to jump. His seething hatred for the device was only beat by his sister's hate of it.

[Nexus Shift]

In a mind bending moment, Annistha's slim frame replaced Zather's stockier one in a way that left the brain wondering if she hadn't been there all along. In a fluid motion, she summoned her Keyblade and cast a Ruin spell at the clock, destroying it with a satisfying popping sound.

~*Inside The Nexus*~

"Damn." Zather growled. "The mission!"

"It's for the better." Annistha said, her normal practicality reasserting itself. "What ever happened there made us like this. We need to be stronger for next time."

The Dark Twin didn't look happy with that observation, but grunted his agreement nonetheless.

~*Outside The Nexus*~

Saving their work on the thumb drive, then sticking it in their long coat, Annistha dashed out the door, snagging their holstered Gunblade off a hair in their room on her way. She arrived at the fountain a minute later, somewhat relieved that they didn't seem to be late.

"No sleeping." She said, playful long smacking Joel on his arm as she passed by him.

It was then that she wished that she had gotten more sleep last night.

Joel awoke from his nap after feeling a small pain in his arm. He nearly fell out of his seat, and turned to see Annistha nearby. He assumed that she was the reason his nap was interrupted.

"Maaan... Y'all just love interrupting nap time, huh?" he jokingly said to the girl who just woke him up. "Y'know, in some places it's common for almost everyone to take a nap in the middle of the day. They call it a siesta or something." /BANNED

Well, she's kinda right, Joel thought to himself. It's probably best to not sleep during something important like this.

... Meh, I'll just sleep after the meeting.

-Artemis Thornton-

Due to boredom, Artemis listened to conversations around him, noting the rude awakening of Joel and looked over to him. "This is coming from the person who spends a lot of time....is it a lot? Yes, a lot of time just...Napping." He then chuckled to signify his jest. "Also, what's a Siesta?" This question was not in jest, for he actually did not know and had to pass by the time somehow.

-Luna "Nephilim" Urbane-

Luna stirred in her seat, noting their teacher resting...on top of a fountain. "My word, Master Zion? ...what a peculiar place to be resting." She said aloud, knowing she'd be heard, if the legendary Keyblade Master was even awake.

"I'm sure there is something like that somewhere." Annistha replied to Joel with a yawn. "But if you try it, then I'll want to try it, then Master Sora will probably join in and nothing will get done."

The Light Twin gave Sybil a friendly smile as she took a cookie.

"Don't worry." Annistha encouraged the cookie bearer. "We all stick and work together, we'll make it through alright."

Joel looked back at Artemis, the boy who had just addressed him. "W-well, it's a good way to restore energy and pass the time. Besides, I still do pretty well in my classes, so I don't see any problem with it."

... Do I really sleep that much? It's not like I'm one of those slacker characters that you see in some stories or anything like that...

"Er, anyway..." Joel continued, wanting to answer Artemis's question. "It's just a nap that you take at some point in the middle of the day. I don't remember exactly when."

Out of the corner of his eye, Joel saw Annistha yawning. "Well, if we're all tired and we all take a siesta, we'll be refreshed and probably more productive later," he replied with a grin.

(OOC: Dang, Joel is getting popular. I'm so proud :3)

In a flash of light, Zion was hanging upside down in midair, looking directly into Nephilim's eyes.

"I could rest in your lap if you'd prefer." She grinned, crossing her arms. Despite being their teacher, she still looked at the young age of 17...yet could easily destroy the entire assembled student force with...probably only one Keyblade.

Rei, meanwhile, poked Indy's cheek.

"You need to chill out. If you freak out around girls, you'll never get a girlfriend. Unless you're into guys, but that's okay! I'm into girls too so I know how you feel!" She smiled brightly.

"H-hey, I don't freak out around girls. I'm pretty sure anyone would act that way if someone randomly tackled them." He tried to cover up his slight shyness. "I don't have time for romance, anyway. I'm not particularly in a rush to get a girlfriend..." He kept his cool act up as he continued his small argument.

Sandrew had been sitting near the fountain since before any of the others had arrived, but as per susal, he was hardly noticed. It was a trait he was almost oddly proud of: not having a presence. He had sat there with his last assignment for the day, even though he had been excused, he was always a stickler for being a good student. With the last scribble on the page made, Sandrew closed his binder and placed it in his backpack. If he weren't so quiet, maybe someone would notice him. He coughed, hoping to be noticed.

Zar woke up screaming again, 'I don't think I will ever get a good night sleep for the rest of my life with that same nightmare.' He looked at his clock and noticed the time time. "Better hurry or I'll be late." He said to himself as he grabbed a piece of toast, and ran out, "You're going to be late." said his hallucination of himself. "Shut up!" He made it to the fountain and noticed to many people are there. 'Dang, I was kind of hoping there wouldn't be this many.' He looked for any place to keep himself from being seen, he decided to sit on the ground far away from them. "I thought you were going to try to make friends." The hallucination said to Zar. "I... Said... Shut UP!!!" He shouted.

(I should have posted this on the sign up but I thought that ig he had an hallucination of himself since he got hit in the head and all it would fit.)

Not the least be surprised, but slightly taken aback by her teacher floating in mid-air, the wrong way up...not exactly out of place for her, Luna could only chuckle.

"Well, I haven't got my lap under lock and chain, Master Zion." She said, tapping her knee slightly. "I've always wondered if my lap was comfy." Luna added.

-Artemis Thornton-

"You do do well in classes, I concede on that." He told Joel, then nodding at the explanation of "Siesta".

"If we all fell asleep now, we'd be told off by either Master Zion or Master Sora. Both of whom could easily end our existences with a swift stroke." He added, chuckling.

Zion flipped and landed, laying across Nephilim's lap. She grinned up at the student. "So, Nephilim. Your lap is fine, eight out of ten. Work on making it softer for better score." She winked. "Anyways, hope Sora is quick, I really wanted to take a nap..."

"If any of us know anything about Master Sora....is that he is very much the Sora off of Destiny Islands in many ways: One of which being an expert napper. For all we know, he could have slept in too." Luna jested, chuckling afterwards, knowing that as a Master, Sora would do no such thing...maybe.

I get being myself but....mmm, taking this too seriously, I know. Regardless, someone like you deserves a soft lap." Luna spoke with a soft tone, internally wondering what true change would feel like and when it would come.
