KHVision 85 Posted August 18, 2015 In KH1 Radiant Garden was known as Hollow Bastion and had us running through a castle and locking the final keyhole. A year later, in the continuity, KH2 showed us a Hollow Bastion being restored to its original form, even gaining its original name of Radiant Garden at the end of the world's story. What I want to know is, how far along do you think Radiant Garden's restoration process will be if we see it in KH3? Within the year between KH1 and KH2, it seemed to have quite a lot of progress done, but the new areas could have already been there in KH1. I don't think Radiant Garden will be restored to its full glory in KH3, but I do think it will have made some decent progress. 2 Riosephmido and gingienator reacted to this
Master Eraqus 1,340 Posted August 18, 2015 Well, Dream Drop Distance takes place a year after Kingdom Hearts 2, and Kingdom Hearts 3 will probably take place one year after DDD (cause we all know how much Square loves the number 13 and that would make 13 years from Birth By Sleep to 3). So, we'll most likely see Radiant Garden become in a much better state than 2 and close to its full potential from BBS. And who knows, maybe even better. 7 Enix, Kingdomhe, 2 quid is good and 4 others reacted to this

I'll look it up properly

The 13 year thing would make sense, but do you recall where it was said DDD was a year after KH2? I know RE:Coded was almost immediately after KH2 and so I was under the impression that DDD was slightly after the events of RE:Coded. According to the character reports in DDD, DDD takes place at least a dozen years after BBS. Ventus description in DDD: "One of three Keyblade wielders who played a pivotal role in a historic clash more than a dozen years ago. His heart is sleeping, and he has been laid to rest in a secret chamber of a certain castle until someone can wake him up." Aqua description in DDD: "One of three Keyblade wielders who played a pivotal role in a historic clash more than a dozen years ago. To save a friend, she cast herself into the realm of darkness, never to be seen again." So it could be that it takes place thirteen years after BBS, but it would make more sense for KH3 to be the final year, y'know, to make it 'special'. I would love it if Sora & Kairi are 17 and Riku was 18 in KH3. It would help me not feel so old hahah. I'll have to play through KH3D again soon. I planned to do it shortly before KH3 comes out but who knows when that'll be... More than likely I'll definitely play through it again if I get accepted to do a KH3 related panel at my local anime convention. 1 Master Eraqus reacted to this
Ultima Spark 753 Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) Dream Drop Distance takes place less than a year after KH2, we know this because the Memorial Ultimania says Sora is 15 in both games. "Dozen" was just a (now incorrect) extrapolation of the JP version's "over a decade ago". Jaime Espinal 5 Posted August 18, 2015 In the blank points video ATW states that its been at least a year perhaps more since he met Sora. So would this be at least a year after KH2?
matteso586 115 Posted August 18, 2015 Master Eraqus: ME, what made you think that KH3 is set a year after KH3D? Nomura officially stated that the time lapse is shorter than that.
Elizabeth Mendes 31 Posted August 18, 2015 I want Radiant Garden to fly and move around like the gardens in FFVIII

Time flows differently (erratically?) in the Realm of Darkness, plus his amnesia likely meddled with his sense of time.
gingienator 278 Posted August 18, 2015 Pretty sure there would be some good changes to poor Radiant Garden ; u ; That poor world suffered too much already { thanks Xehanort e - e }
VisitJoan 2,713 Posted August 19, 2015 The 13 year thing would make sense, but do you recall where it was said DDD was a year after KH2? I know RE:Coded was almost immediately after KH2 and so I was under the impression that DDD was slightly after the events of RE:Coded. It did say in the files that Aqua was one of the keyblade wielders from over 12 years ago - which does suggest a year between that and KH2. However, since the the events of Codded couldn't have taken a year to happen, It's more likely that DDD takes place a year after the start of KH2. As for Radiant Garden - I don't think it will be restored to what it once was, but it should have come a long way form what it was in KH2.

I never said that it was confirmed that KH3 will take place a year after DDD, but we all gotta remember how much Square loves the number 13. And that would make 13 years from BBS till 3. At least that's what I thought until I found out in this topic that the 'dozen years' thing I got from DDD was a mistranslation. Also when did Nomura state the time lapse you mentioned? I almost hate that I was originally right because my mind totally went all over the place putting together pieces to match up with KH3 happening 13 years after BBS.
