I love this change, but the cards (the i button at the top right of the video that suggests videos or other things) were also a good fit! I literally never knew those were there until you pointed it out and I checked it on my phone. It's nice, I guess, but pretty superfluous for me (I'm only a user, not a creator, to be fair). The new video player is immediately better- it seems to load things a lot faster and the loading bar disappears a lot faster, but that's just what I've noticed.
