What's Going to be Xehanort's Excuse for Trying to Kill Everyone?

Recommended Posts

It strikes me, KH3 is kinda leading into KH2 situation. In KH2, their stated goal was to get Sora to collect hearts, which requires no interaction on their part. Despite this, they kept sending people and monsters to try to kill Sora.

Now, t wasn't their true goal to gather hearts, so tretroatively it makes some sense

KH3 can't exactly pull that

despite this, we're probably going to have more than a few fights with the forces of Xehanort... but... why?

What's Xehanort's incentive to try to kill Sora, Riku, Mickey, or ANYBODY else? He NEEDS to have them all survive to the end of the game. You can't make the argument now that they made before, where "if Sora is weak enough to die then they don't need him"

now these characters are needed, and Xehanort can't afford to lose them

There's two ways I cna see this going

Either

"We need to make Sora and his friends strong enough to clash with us and create Kingdom Hearts"

or

"We need to do these things to guide Sora and his friends to their destined place"

I could see the excuse of, "if their light isn't strong enough, we don't need them anyways. We'll kill them and go after a princess of heart".

But then again, Just because there's less then seven, doesn't mean the remainder would allow Xeha to get at the princesses. But they're honestly the only excuse I can think of off the top of my head.

Probably the latter option, although it's equally as likely that MX isn't actively trying to harm any of them yet, he's just trying to gather his forces for the final confrontation (assuming that time travel isn't a very efficient method, which it certainly doesn't seem to be) and all the protags keep getting in the way. They're not just going to sit around and wait for Xehanort to say he's ready for them.

Also, I may be misunderstanding things, but MX doesn't need Sora, Riku, Mickey or anyone else to fight with him, he just aiming for the Princesses of Heart. 13 darknesses need to clash with 7 lights- it's never been specified which lights, just 7 lights. I've been assuming that Xehanort's goal was to kidnap the PoH and have his darkness attack them, which should in theory unlock Kingdom Hearts. The fact that Sora and the others actively oppose that is just a side effect. At least, that's how I've understood it since DDD.

the weird thing about destiny is that backup plans are irrelevant. The Princesses of Heart thing was basically just a threat to make sure the main people fight

...

they shouldn't have brought in time travel

ANSEM SOD'S GUARDIAN IS THE MAIN VILLAIN ALL ALONG

Possessor from Beast's Castle, the main villain all along

There is no incentive. It's what makes the entire plan of Xehanort's utterly worthless as far as gameplay goes, because the best way to beat him is to literally not play.

Then he'll just go after the Princesses and then the whole universe would still be screwed.

The difference is that in kh2 xemnas was trying to recreate kingdom hearts using the hearts of people, so he didnt need to lay a hand on sora to get what he wanted. This time xehanort is trying to recreate the x blade by fighting with sora and co, so he has an excuse.

nvm Everybody and their mother posted the same thing. Although I will say I dislike when threads turn into this. It's just a bunch of people pointing out flaws and complaining when the third game hasn't even released yet.

Xehanort is a sociopath, he feels no need to justify his actions, no matter what effects it has on the lives of others and anyone who disagrees with his methods it simply to unenlightened to understand his lofty goals. He wasn't justifying his actions in 3D, he was explaining the "ways of the world" as he sees it, like an adult does to a child.

how do you even clash with princesses like Snow White

if he uses the PoH, I don't think he actively needs to fight them. In this first game, just bringing themy together and extracting their hearts was enough to open the Final Keyhole, it stands to reason that the same would be true for the real 13 darkness, simply bring the 7 pure hearts of light and the 13 hearts pure darkness together in one place and the χ-Blade appears and unlocks Kingdom Hearts. The flaw in this plan of course is that, just as the Guardians of Light are not the true lights the Seekers of Darkness are not the true darknesses, which is why there needs to be a clash. Despite this obvuous flaw, Xehanort likely beleives that if he has to use the Princesses he need only remove the tainted hearts of his vessals and those of the Princesses to obtain the desired result. he wont have one. every fight will just end abruptly with the new organization member slapping their foreheads and saying "ooh crikey i forgot we need them alive" and then they teleport away.

or

maybe he'll send new org. members after Sora just to antagonize him.

"ay sora your kh2 outfit was better har har" *vanishes*

I could easily see Xigbar doing exactly that.

(Also I would pay a million dollars for a game where every main villain says "crikey" at some point.)

That kinds of just adds on to my point, though. There's no reason to play, because everything is going to have the same end result.
