Recommended Posts

Hi

The manga of KH2 has quite a few books in its series as a Manga i can say that the books don't mostly follow the game but to be honest nothing does but i can say from the way that they have been created and how the story is set i think its a quite good series of the Kingdom Hearts Manga books and also there is a whole difference in the game and book. Have u recommended reading the KH2 manga books online? If u want to read and get a preview on the manga of KH2 search Up MangaFox.com its a good site for reading any manga :)

I have the complete KH1 manga set and COM Sora's story, and they are pretty fun in my opinion. The storylines are pretty much the same, but the Manga can get really goofy at some parts. Also the fightscenes aren't very long and the artstyle is different. I really like them, but I know that some people don't because of the lack of fightscenes and the different artstyle, so it's really up to you. Hope this helps

Yes, I'd say they are worth buying.

1. They do have quite a few differences with the games. For one thing they don't travel to all the worlds, as that would either take too much time in the manga, or they weren't able to get the rights to publish those particular worlds in manga form. The manga itself also tends to take a bit more of a comedic undertone, while still keeping the drama alive and well (so, pretty much your typical manga). Also in manga fashion, there are a lot more Japanese references, and occasionally the series tends to fixate on some parts of the KH lore that oftentimes are either overlooked or aren't seen as important in the games. For instance: You remember how Donald first said to Sora in Traverse Town that the Gummi Ship "Runs on happy faces"? Well, that's taken literally in this series, and Sora, Donald, and Goofy have to maintain these humorously ridiculous faces in order to keep the ship flying. Depending on your sense of humor, it might just make you crack up. Also as Flaming Lea has pointed out many times, the art style is different from Nomura's style for the series. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Well, not necessarily, it just really depends on what you're into. Personally, I think that the art style is pretty decent and similar enough that it gets the job done. The Disney characters are drawn pretty accurately, although that might be because they also have a Disney artist who comes in to put on the finishing touches like in the actual games' art. And Sora and the other characters are drawn pretty well all things considered. There are worse styles out there, but I think this is definitely one of the better ones, so long as you're fine with the constant switching between humor and drama.

2. Is it good? Heck yeah, I think so! Again, like I said before it largely depends on what you're into. If you like the immense sillyness that always remembers to return to being serious at times, then I think this might just feel like a slightly higher setting, which again, considering how silly and serious Kingdom Hearts tends to get as a game, I don't think that should be too much of a problem for any fan. You'd just have to get used to seeing that displayed in a much more visual way. The art style will be what you make of it, personally I think it's a pretty good art style which fits exactly what I would expect from a Kingdom Hearts manga, especially since asking Nomura to pencil an entire manga while working on god knows how many game projects at once is just too unreasonable. The condensed story helps get to where you need to go without having to sit through too much extended pacing to fill in gaps that, legally speaking, might not be able to be filled up, yet the pace still feels natural and simple. Due to it's nature, it might serve as a good alternative to get other friends into the Kingdom Hearts series if they for whatever reason don't have access to any of the systems or aren't sure about investing in a game they aren't familiar with yet. But perhaps the greatest motivator for getting into the manga series? THE FEELS!! TT3TT No seriously, the feels of the games make themselves right at home in these books, as far as I'm concerned. If anything, there are times where the manga itself has tried to elaborate and delve into a character's motivations or the hidden events of the story even before the games had touched upon those yet. And sometimes they can make a scene even more emotional than the game counterpart, at least from my perspective.

Overall, I say that getting into the KH manga would be a good investment. It's still running for a reason, and it's a pretty good way to pass some time between games in a way that doesn't kill your eyes or fingers as fast. Plus, it seems like a safer risk to take anyway, I don't hear people complaining about wasting their money on "bad manga" nearly as much as I hear people complain about wasting their money on "bad games". I'd say take a leap of faith and dive right into the exciting adventure of Kingdom Hearts...again. In 2D ink form.

It's totally worth it.  The manga tells more of a story without the need for player interaction.  What makes them shine are the funny scenes that you don't really see in the games, but very much could have happened.

They're kind of like a version of the series that takes itself less seriously so there's a bit more humor. In my opinion, that can be a good thing because the setup of KH is ridiculous to begin with even if the storyline is pretty decent at its core. Sometimes it adds events and sometimes it removes some that aren't as important, so they're not entirely verbatim to the games. I'd say they're worth reading if you're a big fan or if you're too lazy to play the games.

As everyone has said, the manga has a bigger focus on comedy and a different art style (it's quite cute, which I love, but I know there are some who hate it).

They do change the story around, changing, adding, and dropping events. However, and this is just my opinion, I think that most of the changes are pretty good. For example, in the 358 manga, they added so many new interactions and scenes with all the organization members (many of which are quite humorous) that it ends up being a very different experience from the game, even if the core story is the same. Heck, in 358's case, I like the manga more than the game (and I already liked the game quite a bit).

I think that they're definitely worth a read. They keep the core story in tact, but present it in new and funny ways, with a more cutesy art style.

The first manga was pretty good, and followed the game enough to be a good adaption, without too much humor. CoM is full of humor, and the only world focused on is Agrabah, for some reason.

I've only read KH II vol. 1 and 2, but it does follow the game's opening well, and adds some new stuff.

It depends on your view: if you can accept the fact the manga makes fun of the games on occasion, it's worth it.
