I know there's a Naruto thread but I thought I'd make this into a thread. Hollywood, please leave anime alone. It has done nothing to you. I can already see this being the next Dragon Ball Evolution.

Live adaptations have been happening a lot recently when it comes to mangas or anime, for example, the Attack on Titan live action film, its not surprising Naruto would end up getting the same treatment eventually.

Honestly man, you need to calm down, worst case scenario is that the movie does end up being bad, fanbase will hate and make fun of it forever.......and thats it.

Dragonball Evolution was shit but it didnt do any harm to Dragonball, so if anything you should look forward to this being a trainwreck so you can make fun of it.

Well, look at it like this, Naruto started off as a successful manga first and foremost, which is essentially a comic.

What comic book movies have been successful?

The original Spiderman movies did good.

A good chunk of the X-Men movies are good.

The Dark Knight Trilogy was really good.

Anything Marvel Studios touches is freaking gold.

If anything this gives them more than enough reason to try and bank on this thing.

If you dont want to look at it like that, I can also name at least one anime adaptation that they did right.

I think this movie did the anime justice at the very least.

Honestly can people please get this idea out of their head that cinema cant do shit when it comes to adaptations? I mean the reason Evolution was so bad cause no good writer could possibly on it due to the fact that every good writer in Hollywood were on strike at the time, and the reason why the Last Airbender was so bad is because they got a damn bad director on it, it was dead the moment you saw Shyamalan's name on it.

Im not trying to defend this movie, god knows my hopes on it are probably as low as yours, but shouldnt we wait til we see some footage AND THEN BE PISSSED AT THE MOVIE?

I like how people are saying it's going to be the next DBE & it's going to suck when we don't have:

1. a cast

2. a trailer

3. any concept of where the movie is going besides being about Naruto

4. the movie itself

Seriously, ANYTIME a live action anime adaption is announced with little info along with it, people jump the gun and say it's going & will be bad: Ghost in the Shell, Attack on Titan, Beyblade, Naruto. Let's wait for more information, see who's going to be playing who, a trailer, and see the movie for yourself. If you keep on thinking it's going to be bad, then it's going to look bad to you. Be positive and hope it'll be a good movie.

Death Note was a good example of a live action anime movie done right.  This however, I'll have to see a trailer before I can say anything.  As long as Fox keeps it's hands off it, we should be good.  I still hate them for ruining Eragon.  That was a great book series that would've made a great movie series, but Fox left too much out and changed too much to where the sequels would be impossible.

I agree with you on this. Interestingly, the producer stated that he is a self-proclaimed fan of Naruto series. It will be up to the producer to make sure the director stays true to the series. Also, the director has experience with visual effects in the past before taking up the director's role. As stated before, we saw terrible anime adaptions because of the poor choice of crew members. For a live anime adaption to be successful, one must find crew members that are fans of the anime that are willing to make it into a live action movie. Were the crew members of the past anime adaptions fans of the series? No. They took the opportunity for cash grab.

 

In "The Line," the producer is above the director, so I will trust the producer to know what he is doing, and we should not jump the gun until we see the cast, concept, and the trailer, as Infinity mentioned before.

Usually live adaptions of games/anime/cartoons always fail but I hope the god 'Warcraft' changes that. That seems pretty fantastic so far. Still little to no hope for Naruto if they go just like Naruto.

Avi Arad being attached to this is just the icing on the cake.

 

Anime adaptations like Dragon Ball Evolution and Speed Racer were never well liked and even that new Ghost in Shell film has people really mad. I don't watch Naruto, but even I can see this trainwreck from a mile away. It's times like this where I'm really glad that nothing became of that Full Metal Panic film with Zac Efron attached to it. I really would have been sad then. Not because I dislike Zac Efron, but because I love FMP too much to see Hollywood destroy it.

Everyone who saw the footage for the past 2 years keep on saying how amazing it looks. I'm hoping (expecting actually) for it to explode like how LOTR did when the movies came out.
