Headphone Jack 1,147 Posted July 31, 2015 well that was some food for thought. I found it easy to assume that the series was becoming a cash grab because the release schedules of the games reminded me of triple A developers who release yearly titles of a series in order to have a consistent cash flow. That and how supposedly easy it is to make the games. Most people write that off as milking or a cash grab and so when similar release patterns began to form with FNAF it was easy to jump to conclusions. But now maybe that's not the case with these games. Maybe this is just a guy who has some interesting game ideas with the time, tools, and dedication to put them into action. He could have waited to release FNAF4 on the date he had given but it seems more like he was so excited that he finished early and was so eager to share the newest installment with fans that he just went ahead and released it. Looking closer I don't see the same soulless, money-grubbing attitude I'd get from a larger developer who cares about profits first, and games second. I see a guy who is passionate about what he does and is thrilled to be able to entertain so many people with the games he makes. The fact that he charges money isn't an issue either because hey gotta make a living somehow and working as a cashier at a dollar store isn't going to cut it. Might as well get paid doing something you enjoy. Five bucks per game isn't even that outrageous of a price tag so no harm done. Good on you Scott. 4 OmegaForte, Dracozombie, Power Jusho and 1 other reacted to this

He's not a game developer that cares about only money when making video games, he's the kind of game developer that puts the development of his games OVER money. 1 Headphone Jack reacted to this
Psychic_Ketchup 367 Posted July 31, 2015 The FNAF games may not be my kind of game, but knowing the developer is a really nice and reasonable guy almost makes we want to buy them anyway. 2 AlixtheMagi13 and Joker reacted to this

Exiblade7 1,917 Posted July 31, 2015 Always remember: People who hate the success of others will never be successful. and that's mostly the FNAF haters, but not all of them are like that. Some really have valid reasons to not like the games.
OmegaForte 1,674 Posted July 31, 2015 It's sad he had to go this far to make people wake up and realize he isn't milking the franchise. On the other hand, I'm kinda glad he expressed his feelings to let some stress out. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Shulk 8,623 Posted July 31, 2015 Except a lot of people who dislike the games don't hate it for no reason, as the word "hater" implies. A lot of us who dislike it have legitimate reasons for our opinions, and writing it off as "Oh, they're just jealous that he's successful" is pretty dumb reasoning. 1 Sendou Aichi reacted to this

He says that he's more than aware there are reasons to have legitimate criticisms of his games. But let's be honest here: more than half of the negative backlash of FNaF is the hipster mob mentality of the internet that revolts the moment something becomes popular and gains fans. I skimmed it, but I couldn't take it seriously any more when he pulled the "hater" crap that implies that it's mostly just blind hate, even though a lot of people who dislike it have legitimate reasons for disliking it. I saw him address that, but it was just a small mention in the middle of the "Get away haters you all just hate me because I'm famous" argument. You can tell that you skimmed it, because "You all hate me because I'm famous" has nothing to do with anything that he has to say. The post is about how he's mostly just happy that he succeeded at life, and that he's okay with what he's accomplished. 2 OmegaForte and Exiblade7 reacted to this
Aile 273 Posted August 1, 2015 I don't really consider myself a hater. I actually liked the games at first, I even made some Foxy fanart, wich is one of my best digital drawings I've ever made. But then something happened that just killed it for me. After that, I tried to get into it again, but it just doesn't work. I don't blame Scott for it, since it is not his fault. It's hard to explain really, let's just say I have my reasons. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
