What is the worst thing that could happen in KH3?

A lot of things.

The game could turn out like Duke Nukem Forever.

The heroes could die.

Xehanort could end up surviving to the next saga.

Destiny Islands could get sucked into the darkness again.

Riku could turn evil again.

Sora could become super serious like Riku and lose his naivety.

The gameplay could be crap easy like KHII with Reaction Commands.

We could only have one secret boss in the original version like KHII OG only had sephiroth.

Roxas, Namine, Xion, and the BBS trio could end up not coming back (Although some people might see that as a good thing).

Everything in the story could get retconned again like on 3D's level.

We could end up only having Sora playable.

Or worst of all...

We could not get the chance to hit heartless and Xehanort with a key until they die. : O

Xehanort does something so low, so diabolical, it could potentially break our hearts. Reduce it to nothing, and let the rage come in and take over. Using it to put a end to Xehanort.

For me one of the worst things for me is a Star Wars Episode 6 style ending. Where it turns out that our main hero we all thought would save the day is just a catalyst and the real hero is a villain who redeems himself. I could see this happening with Terra. In which Terra becomes possessed by MX and is a SOD, (this is fine I have no problem with Terra being evil. In fact I want him to be a Seeker of Darkness.) But, then Terra breaks his hold from the darkness and kills Xehanort in some cheap way and it turns out that he was the true hero of the story. 

 

The 2nd worst thing (so close to being number 1) is the cheap, cliche trick of 'He wasn't the true villain, he was being controlled by someone else'. I hate this stupid trick and it should not happen in KH3 EVER. I HATE IT.

 

MX turns good in the last 5 seconds.

 

A bunch of boring worlds in KH3, like Mulan or Port Royal or Timeless River. 

 

No interaction between Disney and SE properties would suck too. 

 

No new character looks would be awfulm what I mean is, I'm tired of seeing the same faces and outfits all the darn time. Give characters like MX, Aqua, Ventus, Lea, Mickey, Yen Sid and the 13 SOD alternate clothes so they look a little more fresh.

I have an unpopular opinion and it's probably gonna happen in KH3 but I really could not stand it if Kairi and Sora ended up in a romantic relationship. I mean I wouldn't not play the game because of it, but it just throws me off because in so much media nowadays whenever there's a female it's like "oh which protagonist should she end up with?" when really it's like?? you can have a female character??? and not have her in a romantic relationship????? It's so much nicer and refreshing not to see that stuff shoved in my face.

 

Also, star wars.

Storywise? Sora or Riku have to go through some kind of "trail of loss thing" where one of them, particularly Sora, has to loose the Keyblade and prove to himself that he IS a "real" Keyblade Master and that he can produce "his own Keyblade" that isn't "borrowed" from someone else. This is a theory I keep seeing get thrown around a lot by newcomers, members of the site, and friends alike and I'm getting sick and tired of seeing it. Nobody has to go through some kind of journey like that when we've already had that journey multiple times already. Sora IS the rightful wielder of the Kingdom Key, it doesn't matter if it was intended for Riku, it is SORA'S KEYBLADE now, no one else's (except maybe Roxas'....and Xion's....and Data Sora's....and-Well, you get the idea!). And Riku? He's best friends with his Darkness by this point, there's almost no point for him to have a personal weakness struggle for the fifth time. I've been fine with his character arcs in the past few games, but even I realize that the series picks on him a bit too much most of the time. That's not to say that Sora or Riku can't have ANY kind of character arc or personal struggle of some sort. It just shouldn't be like something we've seen already before and it should be more specific to the story of KH3 and actually link up to it's overall plot. Something similar to how Season 3 of Avatar worked, where personal issues were touched upon every now and then in fair amounts while the weight and pressure of the final battle is getting heavier and heavier. In short: Don't make anybody lose the Keyblade. That's just overdone and stupid.

 

Gameplay wise, it's hard for me to think given how mind-numbingly impressive the last few trailers have been. I guess the one thing I would have said before the recent interviews is if they omitted the Reaction Commands...which they did, so that's out of the list. I guess my only concern would be if they didn't supplement the absence of the Reaction Commands with plenty of moments of dynamic action even better than what we've seen in previous games, even better than the Reaction Commands of KH2. But it doesn't seem like that would be that much of a concern. So I guess my only other concern would be that whatever they do with it would get stale at some point...but I still doubt that would happen. Maybe if they didn't have the largest amount and variety of moves in the series? I guess that would be a possibility, since there's already so many moves that you could take from the series' expansive catalog that it might be difficult to put ALL of the best ones in there, especially since this is more of an evolution from the command menu style and it only takes bits and pieces from the portable games. Still, after being so exposed to Sleights and Deck Commands, I am curious to see how they integrate powerful moves like that into the standard form of gameplay. But either way I'm sure I'll be satisfied with what they give me. At this point it would just be nitpicking for me to figure out any concerns I have. I guess small things for me to worry about would be if they don't capitalize on the Free Run ability enough or in the ways that I was hoping for or if they don't make a Water spell. I freaking WANT-no, NEED a Water spell. Just, just gimme. Please.

The story is too predictable like DDD. Nomura kept saying that fans wouldn't expect what would happen in KH3D but almost everyone's first thought was to suspect the cliche "good guy loses for once" with Sora and of course that's what happened. Didn't help that the trailers basically confirmed that and spoiled it. 

Another one is that the story raises more questions than it tries to answer. The Tomb of Prophecy feels like a dangerous plot device to throw in this late into the series but if Nomura can somehow make it work I'll be slightly impressed. 

 

As for the gameplay, it looks like they have quite a few gameplay styles thrown in which is good for variety since people have complained that the series has become too much of a button masher, but will SE be able to balance those styles equally? If a basic combo attack is a effective as an Attraction Flow move, just less flashy, what's the point of wasting time summoning a ride and waiting for the animation to stop? These special attacks also have to be implemented in a way that doesn't break the game flow. I'm curious to see how this all plays out.
