Again, all for stats. All. Every single one of them. I didn't look at character bio's or chances of success, I did not consult the love doctor, this is all for making sure we don't die.That being said, however, I will be going for the more likely ships and probably the overall best mixture as well today.On a side-note, I'm not sure who said it, but you bring up a good point. We can use two super secalizing classes together (like in the case of when I shipped our Cleric with a Myrmidon) but we can't make them both limited to one weapon type (i.e., putting our two Knights together. They don't get any bonuses from each other till class change time and they have to be diffrent classes then as well as for the early game ranged weapons and magic will absolutely erase them). However, if a Light Magic class variant is used, and a Myrmidon is used with them, you get two high-damage units that just focus on diffrence offensive stats and thus can cover for the other's weakness (swordsmen being at a disadvantage to Lance users but Lance Users are often weaker to magic due to growth, or the Magic user being weak to getting hit or possibly slower but the Swordsman is quicker and has a little more defense and HP than the magic user)It's all about making units chat can balance each-other out in one way. Double specializing has its places, but they can be limited depending on the field.Take in the Paralouge Radiant Hero in Awakening.Praim's army is the size of a entire brigade basically, using all advanced very well-built units thst can cover for another unit being weak to something (i.e., a General is weak to magic, but they have archers to take out magic or fliers in hopes of killing them before they get the Generals and then tank to win) and shows how limited your two-swordsman-team is. Because you didn't expect of all things this level of enemy resistance in such an easy game.

Sorry, I was a bit too busy to ask earlier, but would a thief and dark Mage be a good or bad combination? (With only the information that we have at the moment?)

Mmm... mildly, they're both low-HP units and the Dark Mage has a tendacy to miss a lot, but with proper leveling they, in theory, can work together. As long as the Theif classes up to a Assassin and learns the bow, I can't see why not.
