Exiblade7 1,917 Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) 5. the overworld: the overworld felt like it was really rushed. you couldn't even run on its overworld I was really dissapointed by this 4.Lack of accurate voice acting: I didn't like most of the voice acting on the game especially with the characters that returned from the previous game. Zelos's voice actor was the absolute worst one in my opinion. He didn't even have that enthusiasm in his voice unlike the voice actor in the previous game has. 3. There is no animated cutscenes besides the opening: I was really dissapointed when I noticed that there was no animated cutscenes in the game because in my opinion, the game could have been a bit better if it had at least a few of them. 2. The battle system is kinda broken: while me and my brother were playing the game, some characters were good to use (Emil and Lloyd) while others were pretty much useless because they had only one or two artes that actually did some damage to enemies especially Marta, and plus her combos sucks. I know she's technically a healer, but still... I've seen characters that are healers or semi healers in other tales games have better combos and artes than her. 1. The story was kinda rushed: Even though I enjoyed its story (yes, i really did like it) after beating the game I realized that the story was rushed because of how short the game is and how they were putting more focus other tales game (tales of Vespiria) while working on Symphonia 2 at the same time, which did A LOT better than Tales of Symphonia 2. If bandai namco toke their time in developing the game, it would have been at least an okay game or a game that would have been better than the original. Isaix 924 Posted July 19, 2015 I don't like Tales of Symphonia 2,its a really disappointing sequel to the awesome Tales of Symphonia.I'm currently in the temple of darkness, but I had to stop playing because the game bored me to death. The story is boring, all they do is talk about Lloyd, but when they meet him in the temple nothing happen and they have to go look for him again and the new characters are not interesting, except for Tenebre because he's funny. Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) 3,859 Posted July 19, 2015 The story is great, the gameplay is fine and I love the characters. Your points are really good, I think just like you. However I didn't get to play Tales of Symphonia 1, so I can't really compare them like you do. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
DragonMaster 1,166 Posted July 19, 2015 The voice actor changes were definitely disappointing, I agree. I don't hate the game (I still had fun playing it), but definitely my least favorite Tales game that I've played. One thing I really liked about this game was Tenebrae, though. I found him to be quite hilarious. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Heartless Plush 177 Posted July 19, 2015 Here's the one thing I hate about Tales of Symphonia 2:Tales of Symphonia 2 1 Isaix reacted to this
Exiblade7 1,917 Posted August 14, 2015 So, about a month about I made a post on here about the reasons I was disappointing with Tales of symphonia 2. This time, I'm going to talk about what I like about the game. 4. The artstyle/ graphical style: I love it! It's really bright and shiny like another game. The graphical style was't that bad, but at the same time, not that good 3: the skits: some of the skits in the game are really funny especially the ones with Tenebre in it. 2: the story (near the VERY end): For the most part, the story was somewhat boring, but when I got to near the end of the story REALLY started to get interesting 1: the gameplay (near the VERY end): Before Lloyd was playable in the game, it was boring because Marta sucks and Emil was the only character that made cool combos. When the game was approaching its end, I got to play as Lloyd. I was VERY happy because I had recently finished Tales of Symphonia and I it's one of my favorite games of all time. When I found out that I can use the same exact artes that Loyd used in the original game, I almost freaked out from nostalgia. 1 MyDixieRect reacted to this
MyDixieRect 2,061 Posted August 14, 2015 2: the story (near the VERY end): For the most part, the story was somewhat boring, but when I got to near the end of the story REALLY started to get interesting Yes! Yes! This! When people ask what I like about Dawn I always say this. Easily one of the best closing acts in the entire series. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Isaix 924 Posted August 15, 2015 I don't like the game, but I have to agree, some of the skits are hilarious, tenebre is really a fun character,it definitely has some of the best skits of the series along with Graces and I love the soundtrack, the game had good remixes of Symphonia music 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Exiblade7 1,917 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) this game expanded on the lore of the original perfectly! even though the battle system is a bit weird in the beginning. I gotten used to how the battle system is in the game and I was completely satisfied with the game when I beaten the game. To show you how deep the story is in symphonia 2 and how it connects to the original, I'm going to show you guys this link: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/942210-tales-of-symphonia-dawn-of-the-new-world/52540845 I want you to pay attention to the sixth post on the forum. All the stuff that the guy said almost makes it seem like symphonia 2's story was almost like tales of the abyss deep, but with both of the symphonia games combined! FlyingEggplant 116 Posted September 25, 2015 I this game underrated? I was under the impression that people liked it. I played the game right after I played the original (HD collection) and I didn't enjoyed it as much as the first, seeing Lloyd and the others in 3D was awesome and the mechanic of capturing monsters to fight for you was kind of cool (though I prefer a standard party system) I haven't played through the whole game yet since I didn't like the main character Emil, he was cool when he was in Ragnarok mode but other than that he was pretty boring. This is just my opinion though 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted September 26, 2015 Well, I've played Dawn Of The New World, and I can honestly say that it was a great Tales game, and a great continuation to Symphonia! I too, had heard these comments of the game not being as good as the first one, but honestly, I found the story, characters and combat to be amazing! But hey, different people have different opinions, am I right? But yeah, I enjoyed both Symphonia games greatly!
Isaix 924 Posted September 26, 2015 The battle system was fine, seeing what's going on with the original cast after the first game is pretty cool and I like the remixed soundtrack, but the story bored me and Emil and Matha are not interesting, also a menu for an overworld map in an RPG like Tales was not a good idea,it completely ruin the immersion, they should have recycled the exact same map of the first game,I'd take the hallways of FFXIII anyday then a menu. I bought the Symphonia HD Collection the day it came out and I still haven't beaten Symphonia 2 meanwhile I bought Xillia 2 two months ago and I'm aready at the final boss. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Sirillia 23 Posted September 26, 2015 It ruined Symphonia basically. Most people despise the game so that's probably why others think it's underrated.
