Riku21Terr 214 Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) Buying X-Men: Days of Future Past’s The Rouge Cut (which is out now btw) on DVD or Blu ray even if you already have it will go a long way towards showing Fox and other movie studios the potential and benefit in releasing extended cuts and unreleased footage from the movie. Especially if you did not like it, you have an alternate version of the movie that you could end up liking, while those who did like the movie still have the version that they know and love. Buying Insurgent (and Divergent if you do not have it already) on Blu ray/DVD/any other home media device will help show that the movie is still popular enough to warrant an audience even if the movie did not do that well in theatres. Insurgent did well in theatres, but not as well as Divergent and Allegiant has a strong possibility of not doing that well, considering Insurgent's gross and going up against Batman Vs. Superman, which only comes out a week late. Like them or not, they helped the first Austin Powers get a trilogy, and Percy Jackson get a second installment when they came very close to not getting them. Insurgent is due out Aug. 4, at least in North America anyways. Edited July 15, 2015 by Riku21Terr
Sora96 17,256 Posted July 15, 2015 Reverse opinion: Don't buy it so they don't keep releasing this crap. Just release your movie and all your extra content at once and be done with it. 5 143436611Xxcc, WakingDawn96, Robbie the Wise and 2 others reacted to this

Sora96 17,256 Posted July 15, 2015 Exactly if you release the shitty version the first time around no one is going buy anything released afterwards. Well not just that, some people don't wanna buy a movie once and then again a year later for 20 minutes of extra footage. Lol. 2 Vortex_Nite and WakingDawn96 reacted to this

Especially if they also take scenes out (like the Daredevil movie, Blade runner etc.). Adding on scenes also helps with pacing issues more character moments etc.

A product should always be a finished product when it is released, meaning that every feature (bonus and regular) should be already on the disc/digital copy! But once they are done making everything complete, and this only applies to video games, they should then do what Smash Bros did and add great content that isn't truly needed to make the game complete, they should only make the DLC that is fun to own but not needed to play the game! But all in all, almost every product should be finished already when it is released, and that means it must have all it's features already!........However Sonic DX is another story entirely! Like he said they should include that stuff into the original product instead of forcing the consumer to dish out extra money for 20 mins of extra footage. Shulk 8,623 Posted July 18, 2015 Why would I buy the same DVD twice for just an extra 10-20 minutes of footage, especially if it's a movie I didn't like in the first place? I doubt that a few extra scenes would really change my overall opinion. As others here are saying, it's better to just release the best version of the movie possible the first time, and avoid making customers upset. If you really need an original and director's cut, do what Dragon Ball: Battle of Gods did. Both the Theatrical version and Extended version were included in the same set, at the same time, for the average price of other DVDs out there. Way better than waiting a year or so to buy an updated version of the movie.
