I've made lots of friends who have made bad or meh first impressions, what you see first isn't always what you get. And the series is whatever they do with it. If they were to make another home console release, I'd like to think that they would at least try to handle it differently and see where it goes from there. And it's not like the name "Sonic Boom" is poisonous, not every game related to it that gets released is automatically going to be bad. This is SONIC DASH 2 for Pete's sake, it's the same formula with features added to it. Unless you didn't like the idea of Dash to begin with or you really just can't stand even the aesthetic look of Sonic Boom in general, then I see no reason to hate the game before it even comes out. This is taking me back to when games like Sonic Unleashed were being judged upon based on Sonic 2006's disaster. I think nowadays people are judging most of the titles based on their own merits, but still it seems that with Boom people think that one game speaks for all of them.

But it's SEGA who publishes it. If they were smart, they'd see Big Red Button can't make Sonic games and wouldn't let them get past green light.

Sega requested them to make it for them and on top of that Sega only gave them less than 8 months to port the game from it's PC build to a console
