The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 26, 2015 Hey there everyone, how's it going!? So then, this is a point I want to discuss with all of you, and I'm pretty sure it's a point everyone's been thinking about and discussed about for some time now, and it's regarding more female characters appearing in the Kingdom Hearts series! I, for one, am all up for it! We need more powerful females added into the mix! We need some equal footing here, so that there be just as many females as there are males in the series as a whole! And here's what I'm thinking! I'm thinking that the new saga could see a host of new faces appearing, and as such, lots of those new faces could be female characters! Just think about it! They could be new recruits, aspiring to wield the Keyblade! And who better to be their mentors than Sora, Riku and Kairi themselves!? We could see how all these new personalities interact with the already established cast, while at the same time adding some new variety into the cast in and of itself! I bet it'd be pretty fun! And as for villains, we could use some more women as well! Heck, it'd be frickin badass if the main villain of the new saga was a woman! I mean seriously, think of how cool that would be! Women have just as much power as men, so heck, a woman being the villain of the next saga would be just grand, and it's not out of the realm of possibility! Just look at Maleficent! She's the mistress of all evil, and she nails her role like a boss! Anyways, what do you all think of more female characters appearing in future entries of the KH series? Would you all like that? And would you like it if the villain of the next saga was a woman? 10 Pokemoncuzzie, Yuya Sakaki, Riosephmido and 7 others reacted to this
Pokemoncuzzie 271 Posted June 26, 2015 I want them to add female characters truly from the heart. Not just for the sake of adding them But I trust them because SE has several amazing female protagonists. What I really want to see that you mentioned is an epic female villain. There's something we could do with. If the next saga's villain was a female that would pretty cool indeed! 6 Mystics Apprentice, Kittenz, Yuya Sakaki and 3 others reacted to this
Kittenz 4,281 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) People were talking about maybe there being a light-based villain using light for bad in the next saga, maybe it could be a chick. I'm thinking looking a little bit like the female foretellers in chi in terms of appearance Edit: Maybe something a little bit like this: Edited June 26, 2015 by Yuno Gasai 2 The Transcendent Key and RikuFangirl2008 reacted to this
Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted June 26, 2015 Frankly I'd just like to have Kairi be the star of a game so she can have her own time to be badass and the hero for once. 3 The Transcendent Key, Javelin434 and Kittenz reacted to this
Movies798 1,359 Posted June 26, 2015 Honestly I want Kingdom Hearts to have more female keyblade wielders because Aqua was a great female character in the Kingdom Hearts series. It will be nice to have more playable female keyblade wielders to bring some new dynamic and new interactions, like a headstrong girl, or a laid-back brooding girl, or cheerful bubbly girl. 2 Keyslicer and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Isaix 924 Posted June 26, 2015 I wouldn't mind I guess, but I think there's enough female characters in the series. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Brady Austin 54 Posted June 26, 2015 why does it matter? If the characters are good why would it matter if they are male or female. Video games are designed to create awesome worlds and stories. Both male and female characters can do that. That's why i find the whole need more strong females in video games thing ridiculous. It shouldn't matter they are video games an escape from the real world into fantasy realms. 3 The Transcendent Key, The Deathdealer and Ultima Spark reacted to this
Shana09 5,769 Posted June 26, 2015 As much as I would like more female characters, I rather not have it for the sake of it. It feels cheap, rather have a gender fitting a character depending on the plot and such. 5 HarLea Quinn, HikariYami, MickeyTheMick and 2 others reacted to this

Brady Austin 54 Posted June 26, 2015 Because females have little representation, or are represented as weak that still doesn't say why it matters. It's not like someone's narrative reflects real life so why are people so butthurt or advocating for certain genders or races to be in games? these designers make the decisions for the story they tell we have no right to say how much of each gender should be in it. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Nick Sideris 1,551 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) I think at least one of the games in the next saga should feature a female character as the protagonist . But not like BBS . Key Sharkz 69 Posted June 26, 2015 I want Kairi to have a bigger role, not for the sake of equality, but because they have pointed out how important she is for so long and she has done little more than be the damsel in distress. She could be a badass party member or co-op character. 2 VisitJoan and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 27, 2015 Well, who knows how things will be in the next saga? All I hope is that there be more female characters, so that there can be gender equality, you know what I'm saying? I'm pretty sure that during the time of the Keyblade War, there were many powerful Keyblade-wielding women!
Shana09 5,769 Posted June 27, 2015 Because females have little representation, or are represented as weak What do you mean? Gender is irrelevant to plot. I meant as in if the character's personality fits more with a female than a male or vice versa. I'd rather not have it male for the sake of a male or female for the sake of a female, just what seems believable. 5 HarLea Quinn, Kittenz, The Transcendent Key and 2 others reacted to this

We'll just have to wait and see what happens! He didn't do a well job with the current main girls. Kairi looks like she is improving slowly, Aqua who is a badass is still pretty one-dimensional, Xion is the one who we got a deeper look into but even she isn't that well liked in the community, Namine is pretty simple for a character but I like her and Larxene is the common super-bitch trope even if I like her a lot too. Nomura hasn't done too much with the female characters, I just hope they do improve Kairi and Aqua more in KH3. Xion has already done her thing, Namine is probably gonna stick with her simpleness and Larxene is still gonna be her character because she is like a trope. I just wish Aqua and Kairi get more well rounded. Kairi has gotten that treatment but its bits here and there. Since she is going to be important again in KH3, I hope they kind of show her personality a bit more. Aqua too, we haven't seen too much of it because of her one-dimensionalness. She is one of the better characters and my fave of the BBS trio, but I hope she shows more of her personality like when she was with Ven and Terra in LBD and Zack. I still love them, but I want a little more. Worst one is Terra though like oh my god, its torture going through his story in BBS. 2 MickeyTheMick and The Transcendent Key reacted to this

HikariYami 354 Posted June 28, 2015 Nomura is notorious for not developing female characters correctly, so don't expect much. All of the female characters are flat and one dimensional, but all the characters in the series are flat except for Riku and Roxas if we are talking about real development. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

Guest Posted July 5, 2015 A female villain for the next saga would be fantastic. To add to that, she could manipulate the Princess Of Hearts for a new agenda in relation to Kingdom Hearts.
