Klonoa the Dream Traveler 678 Posted June 18, 2015 (edited) I recently noticed this lately. Why are they in the sky? Is it supposed to mean something? Or just looking cool? Kittenz 4,281 Posted June 18, 2015 Because they're... in the sky *ifyouknowwhatimean*
hatok 6,413 Posted June 18, 2015 because of the constant themes of exploring new places, which the sky represents, especially in KH where the sky is full of new worlds to explore 3 Robbie the Wise, PrinceNoctis and Neptune Vasilias reacted to this
Mysterious Figure 353 Posted June 18, 2015 Well Sora means Sky in japanese, that might have something to do with it 4 Movies798, Neptune Vasilias, 143436611Xxcc and 1 other reacted to this
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted June 18, 2015 (edited) It looks pretty. I do like the significance of the 'time of day' of each game, though. It's nighttime in KH, which both references the starry sky of Traverse town, the first world Sora visits, and the night sky when Destiny Islands was destroyed. Also a reference to KHI arguably being the 'darkest' time, since it's taking place during Ansem's quest to destroy everything and 10 years after it all started. It looks like dawn in Chain of Memories, which is a nice reference to both Riku's Keyblade and that he says he's on 'the road to dawn'. 358's is a sunset, self-explanatory. KHII's looks like daytime, so the day after the last sunset. (Sora being day and Roxas being the sunset) BBS looks cloudy though idk what the significance there might be. And DDD is also either a sunset or sunrise, possibly both. Sunrise for Riku and sunset for Sora. Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted June 19, 2015 "One world, one SKY" That's all I got... I just assumed they did it because it looked pretty. 3 PrinceNoctis, Neptune Vasilias and hatok reacted to this
Movies798 1,359 Posted June 19, 2015 Because Sora is the main Protagonist of the Kingdom Hearts series so that's why we see characters in the sky on the box arts. Sora means sky in Japanese. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

Moochieh32 676 Posted June 19, 2015 Either way, I think the KH2FM box art is the best out of them all

BBS's cloudiness matches the Keyblade Graveyard after Xehanort summons Kingdom Hearts

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 29, 2015 Ooh, nice observation you got there! I never really paid the sky background any attention, as I thought it only served a cosmetic purpose...but knowing Nomura, he always makes things with meaning. I think the sky symbolizes Sora, and how he's the sky that connects everyone's destinies, you know what I'm saying? 2 Klonoa the Dream Traveler and Movies798 reacted to this
Guest Posted July 5, 2015 Maybe the true door to Kingdom Hearts is a sky in which you can walk on. Yeah, I'm just throwing my two cents here...
