2 quid is good 2,209 Posted June 16, 2015 Ramadan Mubarak to you all! And we have to remember that taking your own life for any sake is not just sad and wrong, but Islam does not condone it AT ALL. So all those suicide bombers need to learn a bit more about the religion that they so * devoutly* follow 2 Dio Brando and Yuya Sakaki reacted to this

Yuya Sakaki 5,212 Posted June 16, 2015 Can anyone explain what Ramadan's about? (Atheist here)So basically, it's the 9th month on the Islamic calendar where the Muslims are ordered by God to fast everyday for the whole month from dawn to dusk. It's the month where all Muslims should become more religious and sincere in their actions of worship, as well as learning to be abstinent and patient. This tradition has been around since the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) migrated from the city of Mecca to the city of Medina. :)Peace! 2 Weedanort and Dio Brando reacted to this

2 quid is good 2,209 Posted June 16, 2015 Question, if it isnt violent then why are so many people afraid to offend muslims?? Personally, I've never met anyone afraid of offending Muslims. Quite the opposite in fact, what with all of the bricks that came through our windows after 9/11  But I can understand people being afraid of terrorists. We have to make the distinction, Islam teaches muslims to respect all types of views and religions, and there are stories in the history of Islam that tells of Jews, Christians and Muslims all living together in relative harmony. It's only recently this kind of attitude has appeared, and personally, I think that all of those terrorist groups are politically motivated, not religiously. As I've said before, suicide bombers are not martyrs in Islam 2 Dave and Yuya Sakaki reacted to this
Yuya Sakaki 5,212 Posted June 16, 2015 Question, if it isnt violent then why are so many people afraid to offend muslims??I think it's because there's the stereotype going around that everything is offensive to Muslims, hence why people are afraid to speak their mind when talking to a person of the religion. I mean, sure it's a steroetype but with all the Islamophobia being pushed onto society by the media, people actually become prone to believing their nonsense and start doing so. Blame the media for their screw ups.Peace! 1 2 quid is good reacted to this
2 quid is good 2,209 Posted June 16, 2015 Also, the amount of so called Muslims that carry out terrorists attacks compared to the number of Muslims in the world is incredibly tiny. We really aren't that great. Islam teaches peace, but there's plenty of muslims who completely ignore all of that.

The situation we're currently in has as much to do with western foreign policy as it has to do with the current generation of Muslims. Al- Qaeda were only formed in Iraq after the western invasion, and I don't hate the west, not at all, but 9/11 set back relations between Muslims and the west to the crusades, and I think all Muslims felt the repercussions. So I can understand the underlying resentment these people might have felt, but we as a community should have tried harder instead of succumbing to the ' us and them' mentality that these groups wanted us to have. I can't remember where I read this, but before 9/11 worldwide support for these groups was tiny, it only grew after. Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Question, if it isnt violent then why are so many people afraid to offend muslims?? I think this is because of the common misconception of Muslims being offended with terrorists. You'll find all kinds of people claiming to be of a particular faith, but if they aren't practicing what their religions are teaching (whether they be Christians, Muslims, Jews, et cetera) then what does it matter what faith they belong to? It's a sensitive topic to many, and I think a lot of Muslim feel defensive because of all the propaganda out there bashing everyone of the faith and not just those extremists who have gone and done horrendous acts. But the number of muslims that seem to support such parties is not so tiny.Look I'm a muslim myself (though I think it's better to say I'm agnostic), but we should stop trying to make the muslim community look like amazing people. We really aren't that great. Islam teaches peace, but there's plenty of muslims who completely ignore all of that. I have to agree with you. There's a lot of Muslim out there who are ignorant and, truth be told, I hate being around. But I can't say that they resemble their religion too greatly. The religion predominately teaches peace, even if some things are taken out of context. I currently do not know what to label myself (I have a lot of figuring out to do in terms of religion), but I wish you all a very blessed Ramadan nonetheless. It is wonderful to see how many Muslim are actually apart of KH13; I never would've known this. This is what I really love to see: a group of various religions getting together and getting along so harmoniously. Why all the divide? I feel that we're all humans on this planet, many of which working to serve the same God, but I'm getting off-topic here.
