kingdomhearts45 469 Posted June 15, 2015 Sure, social media is fun and all, but thanks to some people who don't have good sense, it has become somewhat of a dangerous hazard to teens. I mean, seriously. People take advantage of it too much to be anything they want to be. How would you react if the person you were talking who stated to be 17 years old was actually 45? Yeah.....Creepy. And let's not forget the fact that they might try to get you to meet up with them and if you do.....Who knows what will happen.... It's a problem that needs to end sometime soon. It's a shame that those bad crooks online overshadow the actual good, honest people on social media. It's a trend that shouldn't be trending at all. All I have to say is be careful people. Don't fall hook, line, and stinker. And if you see or witness a problem like this occurring, speak up! Don't let it happen! Protect the victim! Fight back! Please......It's a shame that something like this is happening. 4 Alicia Maddox, Felicia Novita, SorRik and 1 other reacted to this

To be honest, If I have to add what you said, sometimes people like this can make people who are really honest, kind, and helpful are doubtful as well. Why? I don't say that all the people are bad. What I wanna say is people sometimes will lose appreciation to others. The honest, kind hearted one wants to help others, but since lot of people who like deceive each others, they will doubt to believe, "Are they really helping me? Or just buying our story for the fun or entertainment?". To be honest I also feel pity at the real-good people if it's still like this. They really want to help seriously, but. sadly. the bad one overshadow them. Let me share my experience as well. If I have to honest, sometimes I do really need social media friends which I haven't met before to discuss about my problem. And yeah, lot of them can help me go through it. Sometimes I also meet the people who just want to buy my story. That's why, it's the reason why I really don't want to tell about my problem to friends that I'm not close. Besides, I'm a talkactive person, or course I would love to meet several persons around net. But, since the situation like this, I feel that I'm not confident to talk with them, since sometimes they'll think me just interrupting or other, so... it's the reason why I can't start the conversation first with other and would rather other start to talk with me. I believe not all people do like this. I still believe that there are lot of kind people out there. But, I have to agree once again, be careful with the bad ones. VisitJoan 2,713 Posted June 16, 2015 This is exactly why I don't put much personal information on the internet. I have a little more freedom given that the metro area where I live is the third largest in my country and I'm one in 9 million, which makes me really hard to find. I have met an online friend in person, but even though we met when I was 14, we didn't meet until I was 20.
