Guest Posted June 9, 2015 This may seem like another out of the blue fan-fiction but by the time that I'm done with this, you may actually consider this canon... let me explain a couple points to consider. [1] Sora is the primary character for Kingdom Hearts and Eraqus is a tribute to Square Enix (just like Yen Sid is a tribute to Disney), surely, there can be a strong connection with that coincidence alone. [2] They're both residents of Destiny Island. That may seem like nothing at first until you realise that Young Eraqus is just as careless and optimistic as Sora proven with his conversation with Xehanort when he seemed like he didn't know what Xehanort was on about. [3] Why did Sora have Eraqus Keyblade stranded on Destiny Islands? It was originally given to Aqua. Aqua wouldn't just drop the keyblade of her master let alone leave it at Destiny Islands. That seems illogical especially when you consider that she's currently trapped in the realm of darkness. Of course, I can state more reasons as to why I believe Eraqus is Sora's grandfather but there's not really much else to pull form at the moment until more information about the plot regarding Eraqus comes by... It was never stated that Eraqus was a resident of Destiny Islands. 3. I believe it was stated that the showing of Sora receiving Eraqus' Keyblade on Destiny Islands in the first KH3 trailer was just to build hype and show/test the new graphics. I could be wrong though but they just want tell the fans that KH3 is coming but i can't imagine that Eraqus is Sora's long lost grandfather that he had forgotten or Sora hasn't met Eraqus when Sora was still a kid. Felicia Novita 419 Posted June 9, 2015 in my opinion. Maybe Master Eraqus's keyblade at KH3 opening was dropped by someone, who picked it up after Aqua had battle against Terra-Xehanort. I still don't know the reason why Master Eraqus's Keyblade was dropped at Destiny Island, but I believe that someone needs Sora's help to do something with that Key. Maybe unlocked Land of Departure or other place? so... In my opinion, I don't think the keyblade has relation Sora to Eraqus as his grandson and also Eraqus to Sora as his grandfather. Xehanort must have trained with Eraqus at Destiny Islands because Xehanort and Eraqus were childhood friends. Xehanort only traveled through different worlds by the time he became a Keyblade Master. Of course, you may be right in believing that Eraqus was not from Destiny Islands, however, the relationship established between Xehanort and Eraqus for the teaser of Kingdom Hearts 3 seems as if they're both talking in Destiny Islands as Xehanort never left destiny islands until he became a Keyblade Master (ignoring time travelling Xehanort of course). There is no indication that Eraqus is from Destiny Islands, the second teaser takes place during their training, after Xehanort left the islands, more than that, after he began delving into forbidden knowledge.
