The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 5, 2015 Hey there everyone, how's it going!? Well then, as you all probably know, unfortunately, Marvel's heroes are split up because of contracts between Fox and Marvel, and as such, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men don't get to meet the Avengers or participate in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at all. While it's a sad thought, there is a small ray of hope that could turn out into something great! And this all revolves around Wolverine! As you all know, Wolverine has been portrayed by Hugh Jackman for the past decade and a half, and well, he announced that he'll be hanging his boots as the clawed mutant, his last film to be a solo Wolverine film, so this just all begs the question: Could this open up doors for the heads at Marvel studios? Here's what I'm thinking! This is just a fanboy hoping, but hey, it's a good enough theory, so I'm gonna give my two cents on this! So then, since Jackman will be Wolverine one last time, there is one particular storyline that could be used to end Jackman's reign as old Logan, and that would be...the Death Of Wolverine! Recently, Wolverine died encased in Adamantium. I don't know if this happened this year or last year, but all I know is that it happened recently. With that being said, this could be a bittersweet sendoff for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine! And now, here's where things get interesting! Let's assume that the people at Fox decide to go with The Death Of Wolverine. After that, Wolverine will no longer be a part of the X-Men, which means that he'd be a "free agent" so to speak. What I'm thinking here is that Marvel could jump in on this chance and get the rights to Wolverine, so that they can be able to include him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! If I'm not mistaken, there was a time when Wolverine was an Avenger! I don't remember where I read or heard this, but all I know is that the fact stuck with me all these years! And so, with Jackman no longer donning the adamantium claws, this could be Marvel's chance to integrate Wolverine into the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I think it'd be just badass to see Logan butting heads with the other Avengers! Gahh, just thinking about it makes me fanboy! And hey, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility! Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch appeared in Age Of Ultron, and Spider-Man is now going to be a part of the Marvel Universe, so hey, Logan could make the cut too! So, what do you all think of this? Would you like for Wolverine to be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe? 2 Nora Valkyrie and JohnnyMomb reacted to this
KeybladeLordCheeseCurd 1,542 Posted June 5, 2015 If Wolverine is in the MCU, he could be put into Infinity War. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

HeyMouseSayCheese 1,133 Posted June 5, 2015 I doubt it. Marvel Studios and Fox don't like to play ball much, and Wolverine is easily the most recognizable character in the X-Men series. I'd imagine Fox would retire the character for a few movies after Jackman finishes and then recast him and put him back in later on Exactly this. Wolverine (and all the X-men) are way too profitable a franchise for Fox to give up their stranglehold on anytime soon. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch took a lot of money and time to buy over for Age of Ultron, and they were incredibly minor characters in the X-men movies- there's virtually no chance Marvel Studios is going to get Wolverine or any of the other big names any time soon, not while Fox can still milk money out of them. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Green Sparrow 795 Posted June 5, 2015 We'd all love to see it, but...Short Answer: ...it ain't happening bub.Long Answer: ...it's really complicated. If you look over the entirety of Marvel's history, literally every single hero has been an Avenger at one point or another, but that does not mean Marvel Studios has all those rights. Heck, Spider-Man was technically part of the Fantastic Four for a little bit as a fill-in, but that doesn't mean he's officially part of the team and Fox doesn't have rights to him. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are the only "exceptions" because they have been identified as mutants for the longest time (their connection to the X-Men franchise), but were integral to the early days of the first Avengers teams (the connection to the Avengers franchise). It's also like J. Severe mentioned: Fox and Marvel DO NOT GET ALONG. Just look at Spider-Man: Sony and Marvel/Disney have generally always been on each other's good sides, but it took the Sony Hack for them just to share Spidey. The studios will eventually run out of ideas, they'll suck it up, and some day Wolverine will be on the big screen with the Avengers, but it won't be for a looooong time. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Wolf on the Run 391 Posted June 5, 2015 this all comes down to the contract that Fox has over the X-men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four first off Scarlet Witch and Quick Silver were in a bit of a complex situation with the contract to a point where neither Fox or Marvel could claim full control over them for this reason both studios are aloud to include them in there films with little points in between on Fox's end of things on Fox's end of things there's not aloud to include the whole Magneto as Scarlet Witch's and Quick Silvers father story line they can hint it like they did in day's of future past but can never out right claim it as for Marvel they can't use the word Mutant or mention any of the other X-men or anything that relates to the X-men universes when talking about Scarlet Witch's or Quick Silvers story line Now to Wolverine although its true he's been an Avenger in the past even if he's dead in the X-men cinematic universe Marvel wouldn't be able to swoop in to get him back since although Wolverines been an Avenger his actual story is far to linked into the X-men universe to be pulled away Wolverines past is to much of a big part of his past to be skipped over and adamantium keeps him tied down as well since marvel aren't aloud to use that in there cinematic universe the sole reason vibraniums been such a big thing in the cinematic universe for marvel you can hope but in the end there's just to much holding Wolverine for Marvel to get a chance to use him especially with the relationship Fox and Marvel have it's sickening Fox holds so may of Marvels best characters for the cinematic universe but in the end nothing we can do about it really Fox won't let the properties go unless it starts being a lose for them in the end only property you can hope Fox loses any time in the future is Fantastic Four something in that contract states if a certain amount of time goes by without Fox making a film for Fantastic four the cinematic rights revert back to Marvel 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 6, 2015 Aw, darn, so Wolverine being in the MCU is something that probably won't happen anytime soon! That makes me sad! D: Oh well, a fanboy can dream! X3
twilight_roxas 326 Posted June 10, 2015 Maybe Fox might listen if Marvel got Disney involved since Disney & Fox are making a Avatar theme area at Disney Animal Kingdom. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted June 12, 2015 I actually wouldn't want that for one simple reason. When Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver where put into Age of Ultron, they had to rewrite their entire backstory. No longer where they Magneto's mutant children, but human orphans with a grudge against Tony Stark who where artificially enhanced using the Mind Stone. I don't really want them to have to do something similar with Woverine. But one good point you made. They probably will kill of Wolverine in the new movie since, this being Hugh's last time as the character, he won't be in X-Men: Apocalypse. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

But remember, Avatar is a completely different property. I'm not entirely sure that Fox would be willing to share their rights to the X-Men film franchise with Marvel anytime soon. It would kinda suck if Wolverine's backstory was completely changed! D: And yeah, I'm pretty sure that the Death Of Wolverine storyline will be what the filmwriters go for to end Hugh's career as the clawed mutant. But, to make sure people get shocked, they obviously won't put Death Of Wolverine as the title of the movie, lol. And actually, Wolverine will appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, but in a cameo role, or so I've read in Cinemablend. Apocalypse comes out before Wolverine's final film, so a cameo appearance isn't out of the question.
