Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted September 1, 2015 Joel kept the door open as Randir spoke. "Oh? Is that so?", the rosy-cheeked sonokinetic asked as he followed him. "You're a cryokinetic too?", he assumed. Joel had high respects for most cryokinetics since Ellen was one herself. She might not be the best example of one at certain times, but she usually kept her powers stable. But, as of late, she's been acting a bit more strange than usual. "If so, that's pretty sweet. I've been around them a whole lot lately.", he chuckled a bit. "Not that I mind. They're really cool. U-Um... N-No pun intended." He cleared his throat, blushing a bit in embarrassment as he listened to Randir's response to his question. "O-Oh. Okay then.", the sonokinetic responded, a tiny bit disappointed, but he let it go. He walked until they made it to the plaza where Ellen was working by a collapsed streetlight. Joel waved at her as he approached. She looked a bit irritated, but still greeted them anyways. She had rubber gloves on and a black garbage bag was next to her. "Took you a while.", she said, eyeing both of the young men. She proceeded to toss them both rubber gloves. "They gave these to me so we can pick up some of the glass over here. Make yourselves busy. I've got somewhere to be later. And wipe that blush off your face, Joel. I don't like it. Keep your scarf on, too" Joel stumbled as he barely caught his pair or gloves. "Whoa!", he exclaimed. "Okay, okay! Careful. No need to go all big sister on me again..." Ellen sighed as she then continued to do her job. "Sorry. Ugh, God. This city is a dump.", she groaned. "Riots, hellhounds and death yesterday. Tomorrow night will be even worse..." She glared up at the cloudy sky for a moment. "Sometimes, I wonder why we were born in this craphole to begin with, ya' know?", she said to Joel in particular. "I wonder what the rest of the world thinks of us..." "Elly. You don't know and I don't think you want to. There's a reason this place is cut off from the rest of the world. We're a danger, obviously.", he responded as he put on the gloves. "It's not like things are gonna change..." Thinking about that reminded Joel of the little kitsune he met last night. He rubbed his scarf-covered neck in worry and hoped that she was safe somewhere, and sort of wished to find and help her. "Not unless the wall goes down...", he whispered to himself. Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted September 1, 2015 -Randir Mori- "I am indeed a Cryokinetic, Joel." He stated, then freezing his forearm and hand with sheet ice. "A very good one, if I do say so myself, but I always have much to learn." He added modestly, then, as they were outside, shattering the ice off of his hand and forearm via mental command. He then caught the thrown Rubber Gloves without looking and slipping them on effortlessly and aiding in the clean-up. "It was quite a mess last night...though people did fight back, so that is a positive, but also a negative, knowing the suits upstairs." Randir mused, putting a bone fragment in a garbage bag. "I'm now quite curious as to what time shall hold for us all. And I wouldn't say we're all a danger. The world just wants to shut us in a room and try to forget we're here, which some people want not to happen." He added, looking around as he cleaned up. He then moved closer and muttered to Joel: "Don't participate in that, whatever you do. That can only lead to a bloodbath." He warned him quietly out of concern. Stardustblade358 806 Posted September 2, 2015 Mother knew best. That was a small saying that went around the ears of Beasts whenever they meant of Anara, one of the scariest, yet sweetest beast to ever exist in the city. After the loss of her family, she had become the 'Mother' of the district where the Beasts' ruled. She took in orphans and small children that had lost their parents and didn't had anywhere to go. Even Kimi was helped by her when her family seemingly disappeared. She also made the most beautiful clothing that surpassed anything that the higher districts could ever make. All and all, if it meant to help out those in need, she would always be there to help out. Yet as far as she could, she would stay hidden in the shadows of her home. Silas almost fell asleep in his bench, smiling a goofy grin as he thought about how fun it would be to hang out with this new friend by the name of Ty. But then again he knew that he had to have his fun as it lasted, for after tonight things might get a bit more dangerous. He would be the one to cause the greatest distraction of them all, after all. Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) Aya gently closed the book she was reading, marking her place with a red ribbon when a small child and her mother walked in. Aya was a very soft speaker and only said "Thank you for coming" after people bought things. She hated it though. These people took those closest to her, taking them to be tortured. She hated when people came into her store. They would all look at her pale, porcelain skin, and her mysterious crimson glass eyes. They were afraid. Aya stood up slowly after the two left, they would have been probably the only ones to buy anything. She sold the dolls for outrageous due to the connection she had with them. Aya changed her clothes based on what the little girl wore. It must have been cold based on what she was wearing. Aya put white tights under her dress, gently tying up her black heeled boots. She buttoned up a cute winter coat, tossed on a scarf, and fastened on some gloves, and put a small winter beanie, and slowly began to step outside. Aya had to at least look human, and by covering up most of her fragile skin, she would blend in more, and also be less probable to crack. She lifted a lace-like umbrella over her head even though it was clear. She didn't want anyone to see her eyes. Even though she was trying to blend in, her cute doll-like style stood her out from the crowd. She needed to get some real street clothes, and she knew that Mother Anara would be a good choice for her. (Longish post woo!!!) Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted September 11, 2015 (AH. Really late post! I'm sorry. I'm back on track for now.) Joel sighed again as Randir spoke, finishing up his part of the clean up. Ellen worked fast so that she could this over, not wanting to be there in the first place. The civilians around them seemed to be fairly quiet as they worked. Some looked injured, depressed, or just looked really grumpy, like Ellen. "W-Well,", Joel responded to Randir. "The 'higher powers' are really, like...aggressive, lately. More than usual. I know there's a full moon tomorrow night, but...still." "Time will be slim for all of us, Mister.", Ellen interrupted as she continued her own job. "Slim and quick. I can just feel it." Joel just stared at her in worry. He slouched, feeling hopeless in a way. "Don't say things like that, Elly..." When Joel went about his own business and was almost done cleaning, Randir gave him some fulfilling advice. He was a bit startled at first, but came to his senses as he sighed. "I-I know. Why would I? I'll just stay put, alone in my room. Just like all the other full moons... You don't have to worry about lil' old me." He leaned closer to Randir and whispered. "Not sure about Elly though. She's been...different lately... Taking more risks, you know?" With that, Joel finished his part of the job and began to take the gloves off. "Hey, Elly. Where did you need to go afterwards?", he asked softly, looking towards her. "Oh. I just need to...pick some things up..." "Like?..." "Ugh... Things like food for my cat, and for me. You know...like ice." "Oh. Okay... Do you want me to come with you, or..." "Hm. Nah. You seem like you're in good company...", she said in a snarky tone. "I'll call you when I'm done." With that, Ellen finished her part and threw as much as she could away, before leaving the two. Joel just sort stood there and watched her as she left, sighing. "Why are you so...weird around me now?...", the sonokinetic thought. "W-Well, I should throw this garbage bag away..." Ellen went about her business, irritated and conflicted with her thoughts. "Oh, Joel.", she thought. "Why do you do this?..." She stopped in her tracks as she saw a very noticeably pale woman. "Look at that peice of work. It's like a doll..." She looked lost, so Ellen decided to try and help her out. "Yo.", she greeted. "Ya' look lost. Ya' here for clean up, looking for something, or what? You're hogging up the plaza.", she said bluntly. Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted September 11, 2015 Aya jumped a bit when the woman approached her. She could probably help her just get some clothes from a real store. "U-Um yes. Is there a cheap store that sells some...less noticeable clothing around?" She asked. Aya actually had a rather European Accent, almost Russian but not quite Russian. She quickly stepped to the side, greeting out of the way of people. She had to be careful. "I had no clue I was blocking others from passing." Aya muttered. Her demon made her push against the wall, trying to make a crack to escape and hurt Aya. But she held back from the urge to crash into the wall. Damn Demon. "My name is Aya Elizabeth Everus, who are you?" She asked gently. "Are you a beast? Are you and Esper? Do you hate beast? Do you hate Esper?" Her demon asked. The voice was still innocent but the darkness was still there. This is why she can't get out places.
Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted September 14, 2015 Ellen had to sort of hold in a cringe as she got a closer look at the girl's inhuman form. "The hell are yooouuu?...", she thought. She cleared her throat, trying to lower her subtle shock. "Uh, okay lady. But, yeah. There's a lot of work happening here, and there shouldn't be anything- I mean, anybody blocking the ways around the plaza.", she corrected. The attitude in her voice was present, but she didn't notice it herself. She never did. "Anywho, yeah.", she said, grinning a bit and crossing her arms while looking at Aya. "I might know a place, for someone of your kind, I guess." Of course, she was referring to Anara. How she knew about that piece of work was from a friend of hers at school. The district that the 'mother' lived in is a haven for beasts in the city. Not a lot of espers lived in it for fear of being killed. Ellen in particular, liked to visit it sometimes. Though, she had a very of a bad reputation there because she got in a fight with a vampire and almost killed them, be she could care less. She enjoyed the thrill of venturing in it on her own from time to time. "You know where the Petros district is, right? Since I'm feeling a bit adventurous right now, I can take you there. Come on. It ain't too far from here." She started to walk down the plaza and towards the infamous district, signaling for the doll to follow. "Oh, me? Well, if you must know, the name's Ellen Fitzgerald. I'm a cryokinetic. I don't think I need to ask what you are, though.", she said in a snobby tone as they neared closer to the district. "I think you're some kind of living doll. You're lucky. Most of those aren't particularly pretty, but you just so happen to be, I guess. And no. I don't really hate any of the two.", she lied. Deep down she absolutely despised beasts, especially vampires. She had a reason to, though. A vampire almost killed Joel. The district was moderately crowded with a variety of beasts, and the atmosphere seemed bleak and dark, just like it's history. Ellen was very intrigued in a weird way, as well as nostalgic. "Let's see...that bug lady's place should be... Aha! That should be it." The cryokinetic walked up to a door and started to knock rather loudly on it. "Hello?! Any beast home? There's one in need of help here, mommy!", she shouted in a bit of a mocking tone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile, back in the plaza, two of the higher powers still observed from below, looking down at the plaza. "We need to find the ones that killed my dogs.", one said to the other. "We have to find them, and lock them up." They smiled a sickly grin. "Send 'Z' down to the plaza. He can try to find the ones responsible..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Joel found a nearby dumpster to throw the bag into before returning to Randir. Since Ellen wasn't around at the moment, Joel could probably stick around with him for a bit longer know a bit more about him. "That's it for me. I don't have classes or work today... Say, Randir. I-I haven't seen you around campus or anything. If you don't mind me asking, what do you do? Do you have a home or somewhere to be?", he asked sweetly, his rosy cheeks returning. Meanwhile, in an ally, a mysterious figure tread down it. It wore a black suit and hat that seemed to cover his eyes and face. They were an undercover hunter for the government and went by the ominous codename, 'Z'. Nobody knew of him, or what he even was, but his duty was to find the ones that killed off some of the hellhounds. As he tread down the ally, he stopped in his tracks as he saw a kitsune rummaging for something in the trash. 'Z' just stared at it with a piercing gaze for what seemed like hours. After that, he just went off on his way and into the plaza, trying to stay unnoticed by the crowd.
Stardustblade358 806 Posted September 14, 2015 The shop was colorful and full of display. Mannequins dressed in silk clothing as clothes were set up here and there for a surprisingly cheap price despite the material being one of a kind. Hand made dolls were also on display, with hair and dressed and accessories of their own. Teddy bears soft enough to compare to a cloud sat up on its stands. The stained glass windows gave off a lively vibe as sunlight shone through. At the mention of someone, they heard the sound of the floorboard creaking. One spider leg stepped out from behind the silk curtains, then another, then multiple others as Arana stepped out, smiling softly at her guests. "Hello. Welcome." She spoke, her voice soft. "What can I help you with?" She asked, tilting her head to the side slightly. Silas decided that while waiting for Tyler, he would help clean up the mess that the Hellhounds had made. He helped flip over one or two cars back to their former positions, and fixed up a few poles so that the workers could start fixing them up. Every time it looked as if a storm had simply flown in. In the end they just all hoped they could work it out and make it normal again before the hounds were leg out again.
Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted September 20, 2015 Ellen was very creeped out and somewhat disgusted by the spider lady's appearance, her thoughts shouting in question of why she went and did this. "What is that thing? Why am I doing this?...", she whined in her head. She really hated insects, especially spiders. She thought she could handle this, but she was dead wrong. With a forced smile and clearing her throat, Ellen began to explain to Arana about Aya's dilemma. "Ahem. Yes, miss.", she responded, trying to keep her cool. "This girl named Aya over here would like to request a more, well, "less noticeable" set of garments from you." The cryokinetic didn't even want to mention that she herself was an esper for fear that this 'thing' might eat her head off, or something. She could pass off as a beast thanks to her deep red eyes. That is, unless this beast could somehow tell she was an esper, in which case, Ellen would be screwed at hiding herself. "I just helped her get to this...uh...lovely district... Isn't that right, you doll?", Ellen asked Aya, gently patting her shoulder with a fake smile.
Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted September 23, 2015 "Would you stop calling me a doll?!" Aya suddenly snapped, her eyes flashing red. "Something less...standing out would do perfectly ma'am." she requested, looking towards the owner. She began wondering around the store as the clothes were getting ready, walking straight over to the dolls. She was at least going to get one of these. "Ellen, would you like a doll?" she asked, brushing her hands over one that looked similar to Ellen. (short post kill me)
Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted September 23, 2015 -Randir Mori- Randir swiftly threw away his bag after filling it into a nearby Dumpster, then chuckled a little as Joel asked his next question, once more becoming rosy-cheeked. "I, tend to do odd jobs rather than University. I did go to College for a few years, but decided to stop there. I do have a home however!" He stated, then added a look of curiosity to the mix. "Do you wish to visit? I can very well arrange that if you like." Randir asked politely, then laughed. "Don't worry, I won't bite." He added, then smiled and did a hair-flip as one of his bangs was in the way of his sight a little bit. "I wonder what potential Joel holds within.....and what the suits upstairs are planning now." Randir thought to himself as he awaited an answer.
Stardustblade358 806 Posted September 23, 2015 Arana could not help but to be in awe of how gorgeous the girl was. Almost like a porcelain doll. Indeed she stood out beautifully, but in a city like this it wasn't the best idea to attract attention of any kind. "Sure thing, darling. Give me just a minute." Arana said, moving around as she picked up stuff with such grace it was hard to believe she was half a giant spider from a point on. Then again she was used to it. She picked up a pair of jeans, a white blouse, a long sleeved aqua colored cardigan that reached down below her waist, and some sandals with delicate power designs on them. "How about this? But you can pick whatever you want dear." Arana said smiling. Ever since the disappearance of her own family she simply adored people. There wasn't one person she didn't like at first sight. Everyone was a potential friend and if she could help, she would.
Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted September 23, 2015 Aya looked at the outfit and smiled. "That is beautiful, thank you." she said, making her way over to Arana. "I would also like to buy this doll for my friend here." Aya said, placing the doll on the counter. "Also, may I know your name so I can come back here if I need to?" she asked kindly, her porcelain fingers tapping on the counter. Aya hadn't seen a lot of beast, and Arana was amazing. Aya usually was tame as a beast herself, but she did get out of hand sometimes.
Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted September 24, 2015 ~Z~ The one known as 'Z' seemed to slither through the crowd as it worked, carefully scanning it's hidden eyes at as many beasts as they could. They were confident about staying hidden, maybe a bit too much. Their power wasn't all that noticeable. Psychometry was a quiet ability to possess. After a while, 'Z''s eyes caught a couple of beasts that seemed suspicious. "Hmmm.", they thought. "You. You. And you... Oh, my.", they whispered out loud as they seemed to waltz over some fallen street lights. "Why is it that the most seemingly attractive people are the ones to cause all of that trouble to the dogs?..." They hung their head down and chuckled a bit. "That's a little sad, but they'll have to learn there lesson soon. Ugh, especially that lycanthrope... My goodness...", they mumbled as they started to head towards the University. "Welp, next stop is the forest.", they said. ~Joel~ Joel listened to Randir yet again. "Oh? Well, it's good that you do!", he responded with a smile. The sonokinetic hoped to achieve the goal of getting a home of his own one day. At the invitation of a visit, Joel blinked at him a bit in disbelief, yet very flattered. "W-What?? Really? That's...real nice of you.", he answered, his shyness prevalent as he was looking away and rubbing his neck with a small smile. "Sure. I'd like that, i-if it isn't too much trouble.", he said, looking back at him. "I just hope Ellen won't mind, wherever she might be..." ~Ellen~ Ellen laughed a bit and backed away from Aya at her sudden outburst. "Whoa, okay. Okay! Yeesh. No need to get your joints in a twist. It's just because that's what you are. Sorry, didn't really think you'd be offended", she teased rather rudely, happy to get a reaction out of her. She really needed to work on first impressions today. She followed Aya into the shop at a comfortable distance, looking around the place with a small with a crinkled nose. "Dear God. What a tacky-looking place...", she thought. As she waited for the walking doll, she leaned against the wall with her hands in her pockets. "Hmm? A doll of my own? I dunno. I sort of grew out of them after I turned 5. But, that one does look cute, if I do say so myself.", she boasted. She still didn't completely trust Aya, but as she went and began to purchase the doll anyway, the cryokinetic scoffed a bit. "Well, okay. Fine." If she was taking that creepy look-alike doll back home, she would have to observe, and maybe interrogate it to make sure it won't possess her in the dead of night, or something. 1 Lady Aleister reacted to this
Stardustblade358 806 Posted September 26, 2015 Silas found it sad that he ended up apparently scaring the kid. He never meant to. But overall, now it meant that he had the rest of the day to plan for the big ‘fireworks show’ tonight. He walked around the streets of his appointed area. He glanced around, looking for special places that he could focus on to create the grand distraction. His eyes landed on a couple of abandoned office buildings that were closed off to the public. They were supposed to be kept closed off for renovation, but any actual work on them had yet to be done. “Perfect.” Silas purred, smiling up as he jumped over the already somewhat broken down fence and entered the building. He would wait until sundown, and then the show could begin. Anara smiled as she walked back to the counter. “The clothes are my treat to you, dear. The doll should cost ten dollars. You may call me Arana, or Mother, whichever is easier for you.” Arana explained.
