Oshamu 52 Posted May 25, 2015 Now if there is already a topic please move this thread otherwise lets talk about Splatoon! Probably the most exciting game for me this year! I was in the last test demo and I have to admit that this was totally worth my investment! I know the game comes out on Friday but what are you doing to make time go by faster? Tails 6,692 Posted May 25, 2015 Well, I just recently ordered the game on Amazon and it will arrive at my house on the day the game comes out. I also played the testfire demo and I am extremely excited to play this game. Especially since it will have the same kind of advertisement treatment as Mario Kart 8. I really look forward to the DLC whenever Nintendo releases them.
Setrex 1,031 Posted May 25, 2015 I'll be definitely getting it on Friday and I can't wait. I've got both this Special Edition and the Inkling Boy amiibo pre-ordered: 1 Tails reacted to this

Setrex 1,031 Posted May 26, 2015 Lucky I so totally want those amiibo figures so I can get some of the exclusive content on the full game. I think having the squid amiibo only part of the triple pack in America was incredibly stupid. Although, here in Europe you have to buy this edition to even get the squid amiibo and can't get it separately, so it's stupid here too. I think the only difference in price is the game by itself is €50 and with the squid it's €60, so I just went yeah sure why not. I've had to import my Inkling Boy though so I doubt it will arrive by Friday. It's funny though, because I don't agree with how the amiibo in this game works. If 6 months down the line someone wants to buy Splatoon and can't get the figures then there is a chunk of content locked out to the user, which really sucks. No doubt there will be a patch later down the line that allows you to unlock stuff with other non-Splatoon amiibo, but we'll have to wait and see what those are. From what I've seen this side is the Splatoon amiibos are not selling out fast as first feared, so maybe Nintendo has finally stopped extreme shortages.... Or maybe nobody is interested in Splatoon that much haha.

Doesn't matter what kind of amiibo it is, people just bulk buy them so they can resell them for a higher price. Joke's on them though, I can import from Japan for a cheaper price. Setrex 1,031 Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) Over here, every amiibo sold out. Doesn't matter what kind of amiibo it is, people just bulk buy them so they can resell them for a higher price. Joke's on them though, I can import from Japan for a cheaper price. The Smash Bros and Super Mario line of amiibo sell out really quickly here too. I've still seen Splatoon amiibo in places, but they opened up pre-orders so late in local stores and on Amazon UK that I had already got a Japanese Inkling Boy pre-ordered. I really hate the scalpers they've exploited everything about the amiibos and that is disappointing. It's a real shame that no-one can walk into a store and simply pick up an amiibo to their liking. Curious to know what weapons people liked to use in the testfire (or any weapons they can't wait to try out in the final game). I know it's kind of a boring choice, but I like the regular Splattershot the best. I felt I was pretty good with it. The charger is definitely one of the harder weapons to use. I really liked the normal Splattershot and the Roller. Those were the best weapons in the testfire demo.
Oshamu 52 Posted June 4, 2015 I don't know I kind of lost interest in this game already. Turf wars was really fun but lately I'm not into it, and Ranked Match is just plain stupid, they need to make this game fun again. Oh yeah I'm level 20 already so I don't know what else I can do with this game.
Kyouma-Blade 90 Posted June 4, 2015 I'm having a lot of fun with it, but I think a major flaw is how much you have to rely on teammates yet there is no voice chat. It's a pretty integral part for working together, but it's missing, so you'll just have to assume the others know what to do. I also don't like the lack of local multiplayer support aside from the 1v1, but I understand the limitations behind it. I heard there will be more game modes coming soon, so that'd be fun. Shulk 8,623 Posted June 4, 2015 I've been having a great time with Splatoon so far. Between the main story, great online matches, and the fun amiibo challenges, I've had a hard time putting it down! Can't wait to try Ranked Battles when I get to a higher level (Currently 9), and see what all is added to the game over Summer!
Setrex 1,031 Posted June 5, 2015 I've been having a great time with Splatoon so far. Between the main story, great online matches, and the fun amiibo challenges, I've had a hard time putting it down! Can't wait to try Ranked Battles when I get to a higher level (Currently 9), and see what all is added to the game over Summer! I found ranked battles incredibly hit or miss. You either cruise to victory or get absolutely wrecked yourself. I haven't really touched it since the mode was added, but I got the feeling the people I was paired with had no clue what to do. It's great when you win (I topped a game once with over 20 kills! Haha), but it is frustrating if you lose by knockout. If your team gets knocked out you gain no exp or coins and makes your game pretty much worthless. I'd say don't go into ranked mode unless you have really good gear that is maxed out and if you know what to do in the games. Ranked battles are far tougher than Turf and really do focus more on killing your opponents just so you can claim a bit of turf in the middle of the map. I completely agree with you on the content. I haven't beaten the story mode yet mainly because of the fun online. I still don't know if I'd want voice chat though, it sucks if your team aren't doing their job but at least 90% of the time people know what to do. I have no idea how people have gotten to Rank 20 already however, I'm only at 13 haha. 1 Shulk reacted to this
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted June 5, 2015 I love playing Splatoon, but i've various issues with Rollers. At some points i feel they need nerfing, and other points I don't. The problem comes with how sometimes, they pass me up, I don't get hit, they completely missed me and keep going and yet, I still die from the Roller even though I wasn't hit with one. Also it's a very overused weapon. People have no variety, they just like cheap wins if possible (Because more than not, the nerf idea stops with the fact that most rollers have no idea how to actually cover ground well and just go for cheap kills). Ranked battles are...well...alright. I tried three matches, won two, lost one. The problem is that you're stupidly punished for losing. There's no experience whatsoever if you lose by objective means. So it's pretty pathetic if you want to level up quickly, are promised higher experience and receive none by loss. You should always be reward for your effort. Leveling up is part of the fun, but if you take away that ability, you've ruined part of my fun in the game. The story mode is highly innovative to me. It's like nothing i've experienced before. The bosses are really cool and fun as well. I got the inkling girl amiibo, so I'm running Charger challenges which can be difficult since I'm not very good with Chargers. So that adds a ton of fun to the game. Overall, Splatoon has been a wonderful experience and I can't wait to experience even more modes and the events such as Dogs vs Cats over the summer. 1 Setrex reacted to this
