Two classmates of mine

Recommended Posts

So I have a classmate at my school. No one in the classroom, including me, can understand what he says sometimes due to a speech problem he has. He creeps me out. He makes a big deal about MINECRAFT and SPORTS, screaming in rage if he even misses the ball in basketball or gets hit by another player in Minecraft. When he plays Minecraft and Smash 64, he literally talks to the screen as if the characters were real, and treats it like the stuff going on in the games is actually happening to him. He screams at the top of his lungs and cusses when he gets called out on something bad he had done, and he enjoys beating up and killing NPCs in Minecraft. Worst of all, he finds EVERYTHING in South Park FUNNY. That means he laughs at murder, racism, vulgarity, r*pe, and every offensive thing in South Park. AND HE'S 12 YEARS OLD.

Another classmate I had, who ended up leaving, was extremely annoying, but also insane. He screamed and cussed when called out for something bad he did, like the other classmate, although he actually attacked the teacher and other classmates. He nearly destroyed a computer in rage, threw chairs, and then some. He also did vulgar jokes meant for adults, and sexually assaulted me once! And he was 12 years old as well, but he thought he was 13.

One thing I forgot to mention, they both terrify me.

To be fair the purpose of South Park is for comedy, not to promote actual political views.  You can laugh at something without thinking it should be applied to real life.

South Park is pretty funny. Some music I listen to talk about rape, murder, all that shit a lot but I still really enjoy it, of course I don't approve of what they will say. And those kids you'll find at every school, its normal, and those kids are very entertaining.

He laughed at it because he just thought it was funny. No other reason. The reason it creeped me out is because 1, he just thought it was funny, and 2, because he's 12 years old. And I'm talking about the first classmate.

But you're meant to laugh at it 'cause it's funny?  I don't particularly approve of young people watching South Park (or Family Guy, American Dad etc you can tell they're cartoons for adults), but why would it laugh at it other than finding it funny?

I don't know. It's just, it creeps me out! Why is he even allowed to watch it anyway?! Because it's a cartoon?!

Those sound like some pretty disturbed kids. South Park is really not a show meant for kids, although it is a comedy. In general, from what I've heard since I never really wanted to take the time to watch it, it doesn't sound like a true comedy to me if all they do is make offensive "jokes". But, just asking, what was the point of this? Do you need advice on how to deal with them or how to stay on their good side? Or were you just venting to the very open ears of us KH13 members.

I dunno, third option? Because to be honest, there's really no good way to deal with them. The second one got expelled, and the first one is still around.

Oh ok. Well I'm sorry that you have to deal with difficult classmates such as these, it must be hard.

A lot of parents just see cartoons and think it's age appropriate or don't care.   Sadly not a lot will actually research the things they allow their kids to see.

South parks humor is often very deep and "on the line". I dont even think your friend can understand most of the jokes there, sometimes not even I myself can understand them. He probably just laughs because he feels the necessity to ("oh this character said a joke, I should laugh).

South park's black humor, rapist jokes etc etc are what the show is made of. I personally love it but probably younger guys shouldn't watch it anyway.

He never specified if he understood its humor or not. But still, it disturbs me. A lot.

I don't think watching South Park is necessarily an indication of a problem, except maybe parents not supervising their kids better. Chances are a kid watching South Park is taking everything at face value, without much understanding of the deeper meaning. I mean, I watched The Simpsons as a kid, with my parents knowing. I still enjoyed it even though in retrospect, a lot of it had flown over my head. South Park's humor is less subtle so it'd be easy for a kid to take it at face value too, like I had with The Simpsons. I doubt your classmate really understands half of what South Park is getting at.

But if the rest of his behavior is making you uncomfortable, I'd at least bring it up with a teacher or something. If the second classmate got expelled, there must be some sense of justice at that school.

I'm 14 and I've been watching Family Guy/American Dad/South Park/Whatever since I was 9.
