RoxSox 3,593 Posted August 11, 2010 If theres one thing we know a lot about, it's conspiracy and myth. Theres monster myths like the Bigfoot, or Nessie... but then there's the supernatural Alien encounters. And let us not forget to mention the myths of internal combustion, ghosts, etc. Whats your standing on subjects like this? Discuss Myths and Conspiracies here... owo
JesusFreak 41 Posted August 11, 2010 I don't particularly believe in those things....but they could be true. I mean we think we know quite a lot. Though, we barely know anything compared to how big the world and the universe is. They could very well be real or not real at all. We don't know. I don't really care about these things since mostly whenever they say someone saw it...it turns out to be this big fluke. I once watch a documentary(or however you spell it) on Bigfoot. It turned out to be a fluke...which didn't surprise me since all the people on there were nuts. But hey that's people for ya.
RoxSox 3,593 Posted August 11, 2010 The mythbusters managed to bust this one... and I'm glad they did. I was never fully convinced that the moon landing was a hoax... The only popular myth that I can manage to wrap my head around is in fact Bigfoot... It's one of the least supernatural beliefs, and I find that it is not a stroke of fantasy to believe in it. It could be a species thats to this date, undiscovered by scientists, maybe because it's slowly going extinct... or perhaps they're just elusive. I don't believe that it's "The Missing Link"... no, I do however think it exists.
JesusFreak 41 Posted August 11, 2010 Well, I do think Bigfoot could be a creature going into extinction. But the thing for me is...I don't really care for Science and all that.. I don't know why though. Maybe because some Scientists argue about God and the Bible. And also maybe because I just don't want to realize that there are things in this world that we can't explain. I mean I know that...but it's just hard to imagine how little we know and how much we still haven't discovered. Then again...Why am I posting on a Myths and Conspiracies? lol
Sorage55 10 Posted August 11, 2010 I'm sorry did somebody say MYTH? As in MYTHOLOGY? As in the discussion of mythological facts and reasons? Well i'm glad I dropped by! Hello everyone, this is Sorage55 your Native American Werewolf, here to share with you, a new myth I am currently researching on: The Hell Hounds. Godot 513 Posted August 11, 2010 You mean like creepypasta type things? ;D I have a whole bunch.... Nonexistence Imagine the most solitary place you can imagine. The most isolated, lonely location you can possibly conjure up: a claustrophobic, dirty cell; the peephole in the door forever unused; an island eternally floating in a sea of darkness, the shadows hiding everything you can, and can't, see; a quiet, wind-whipped plain where no directions exist; a desert landscape, all sound muffled by the driving winds and buffeting sands, where half-seen shapes roam the horizons. Imagine spending an eternity there. Terrifying thought, isn't it? Mull it over for a while. An existence with no beginning and no end, alone with your mind and nothing else. Right now, it's a scary scenario. When you get to the afterlife, it won't be just a scenario anymore. Wake-Up It has been reported that some victims of torture, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren
Amon 4,279 Posted August 12, 2010 Here are my opinions on several myths and conspiracies. Bigfoot/ Yeti- Possible, scientist discover new species of plants and animals every day. Bigfoot may exist but there isn't enough evidence to prove it. Lock Ness Monster- Not true, many say it's the last surviving plesiosaur, however since there is only one possible creature, it couldn't have reproduced to keep it's species alive so long. Alien Life- Definitely true, while not confirmed the universe is just too large for earth to be the only planet with life. Aliens visiting earth- Most likely true, it could be something else, but with all the sitings and abductions (sometimes the alien captors tell their subjects where they are from) its very likely. Dead aliens being held by the government- Possible, I'm not sure about this one but it may be true. However why haven't former employees of these government installations ever spoken about it? Government caused 9/11- absurd. I don't know how some people are stupid enough to believe this. Moon landing was faked- Equally as absurd and it was proven we did go to the moon on mythbusters. Kennedy was killed by the government- Also stupid. Reagan was almost killed by the government- also untrue Grim Reaper- for those who don't know where this came from it started during the dark ages when the Bubonic Plague was going around. Sometimes a strange figure in a black cloak would be seen with a scythe cutting grass outside a town. The face of these figures were absolutely terrifying. Strangely enough the plague hit the towns these things were seen outside of only a few days later. Strange isn't it?

Think Pink 1,967 Posted August 17, 2010 IT'S ALL A CONSPIRACY!!!!!! *screams* The only 'mythological' creatures I believe in are Bigfoot (which is probably also the Yeti), which is probably some wierd kind of evolved bear or something ( don't you LOVE my mind), and the Mothman. Of course, I live in the same area it's often sighted, so, you know. But there was this one town, and a year before a devasting bridge fell and killed 48 or so people, the Mothman appeared. It appeared to many people before the bridge collapsed. Right after it did, the Mothman (in that town) was never seen again. o.O I think it was trying to warn people, although it may itself have caused the accident. Of course, this is just what I think. I could be wrong. (:
Amon 4,279 Posted August 17, 2010 Oh yes the moth man. That guy creeps me out. My Grandmother and My Grandad saw a UFO on the same day (or about the same week) Betty and Barny Hill were supposedly subducted by them (for those of you who don't know, this incident has been the most famous alien subduction of all time). And before you ask, yes, they were sober. What was weird was that the UFO they saw was looked exactly the same as the UFO Betty and Barny described to officials. Plus, they were in Vermont at the time, Vermont was were Betty and Barny were when they got abducted. Isn't that wierd? My Grandma and Grandpa could have been abducted by aliens. Think Pink 1,967 Posted August 18, 2010 While I, personally, don't believe in aliens because there's no mention of it in the Bible (although maybe they just left it out, so you never know), I still find that creepy. :s It would still probably be creepy, though. Was that the first thing they thought of when they saw the UFO (supposedly)? And the Mothman creeps you out? I live in the LAND of the Mothman! I've seen statues of it where I live! Cellar Door 652 Posted August 18, 2010 @topic, not like a random response to other posts. sasquatch exists--or at least, existed at one time. in native american art they drew sasquatch next to other animals, proving they did see this creature. whether it is still here today ( ofcitistheresjustnotmanyfacts>: ) is the question. RoxSox 3,593 Posted August 18, 2010 Thats what I say... Bigfoot/Sasquatch is a creature... just elusive, or maybe slowly going extinct.

Was that the first thing they thought of when they saw the UFO (supposedly)? And the Mothman creeps you out? I live in the LAND of the Mothman! I've seen statues of it where I live! Actually there are possible mentions of Aliens in Christianity and other religions. They just don't go out and say "...And so the Alien approached him..." Because people couldn't comprehend what they just saw so they interpret it as an act of God or whatever they believed in. Just a google search on Aliens in religion and you can find a lot of interesting results. It's not just the Bible also. A common story in the Hindu religion is that three "giant cities" floated in the sky once. They began to get closer to each other and soon "war chariots" began to spawn out of them and they would fight each other in the sky. When one of the cities was destroyed a tremendous light engulfed everything. These giant cities are commonly thought of as enormous Alien Battleships and the war chariots are considered the starfighters. That giant light was possibly a nuclear explosion. Once again, someone didn't understand what they saw so they wrote it down in a way they can relate too it. And because of how religious people were back then, a religious twist was added too it. So yeah, if your interested try researching that stuff a bit. It's rather interesting and actually makes sense. I just suck at explaining it. As for Mothman he does creep me out. Luckily I'm not in your position lol. I live only about 50 miles away from the country side of the North East in the United States. There's like a UFO siting every week in that area lol. Thankfully I live in a suburb north of NYC so it's going to be hard for the Aliens to probe me without anyone noticing.
Think Pink 1,967 Posted August 23, 2010 o.o aliens are gonna take over the world... I still really don't think they're real. Why aren't we seeing them NOW, then? Like, fighting aliens (thought that'd probably be more scary than cool). You're lucky. My dad SAW the Mothman. I wasn't with him--thank gawd. I would've probably passed out. Amon 4,279 Posted August 24, 2010 The aliens aren't ready to formally meet us and we are not ready to formally meet them. They can't meet us because we simply aren't ready. We don't have any settlements on other planets or moons, we are still fighting each other and millions of people are thirsty, starving, and dying from disease. We won't be ready for the problems we will encounter in space until we can solve the problems we have on our planet. We can't meet them for many of the reasons stated above and more. Can you imagine the panic that would be caused if a super power confirmed the existence of Aliens? Questions will rise. What do they want? Are they good or bad? Riots and even wars may break out. You will also have activist demanding the government to stop autopsies on dead aliens and such (if they do perform autopsies). Due to our Paranoia we may begin to discriminate or even fight an alien race. Which will most likely result in the extinction of mankind. They are out there, we are just not ready to formally meet. Aliens will simply watch us and occasionally study a specimen from earth (be it human, plant, or animal). And we will simply gaze up at their magnificent craft and occasionally study a dead alien and their vehicle if they crashed. This is how it will remain for hundreds of years until we are ready and we are no where near close to being ready. We really shouldn't be worried about an alien species going to war with us too. An alien species who lust for war would have destroyed themselves before they could ever get into space. In fact we may destroy ourselves before we get to space. And by that I mean actually having a space empire like colonizing planets and traveling faster than the speed of light (if it's possible). If you want to learn more I suggest reading UFOS: The Great Debate By J. Allen Danelek. It is possibly the greatest book written on UFOs in modern times and explains a lot including. Why the exist (it even shows cases against UFOs and disproves them or leaves them open as a possibility) Government involvement and First Contact. I REALLY suggest picking it up if you have the time to read it. It is very well written and is one of my favorite books.
